Air Force major arrested after calling for Trump impeachment on Capitol steps

An Air Force major was arrested on the steps of the Capitol on Wednesday after calling for President Trump’s and Vice President Vance’s impeachments.

Peaceful demonstrations are permitted on Capitol grounds, but a protester must remain alongside a member of Congress to speak openly from the steps.

Originally, Air Force Maj. Jason Watson was accompanied by Rep. Al Green (D-Texas), who later left.

Upon the lawmaker’s exit, Watson was directed to come off the steps or face arrest, U.S. Capitol Police told The Hill. Watson was then arrested for crowding, obstructing and incommoding, the authorities noted in a statement.

“When the president of the United States orders military action against foreign countries — absent an emergency scenario where American interests are under imminent dire threats, as was done with Venezuela, Cuba and Iran — that’s an unconstitutional usurpation of Congress’s authority and a violation of the War Powers Clause,” Watson told bystanders.

Weird, he didn’t have a problem with all the military action taken by Biden, but, you know, Orange Man Bad

“These violations resulted in the deaths of 13 service members and injuries of hundreds more. For this, the president and vice president must be impeached, convicted and removed,” he added.

Judge presses Trump administration on plans for East Potomac golf course

A federal judge pressed the Trump administration Thursday for more details on its proposed renovation of East Potomac Golf Links, a century-old waterfront course that is the subject of a lawsuit that seeks to halt the overhaul.

“I don’t want a destroyed East Wing, I don’t want a destroyed Reflecting Pool, or whatever, before [the plaintiffs] are able to come back to me and ask for relief,” U.S. District Judge Ana C. Reyes told the administration’s attorneys at a hearing.

Two Washington-area golfers and a nonprofit organization, the DC Preservation League, alleged in the lawsuit that the Trump administration is bypassing environmental and historic preservation laws in a rush to renovate the course, which was built on reclaimed land along the Potomac River and has sweeping views of the capital monuments on the National Mall.

President Donald Trump, an avid golfer, and his allies argue that the East Potomac course is worn down after years of neglect. The president toured the golf course this week with the golf course architect Tom Fazio, carrying what appeared to be detailed — and extensive — redevelopment plans.

It’s just a golf course, folks. One that is already there. That could stretch into more land that is not being used.

She gave particular scrutiny to the Sept. 1 deadline to begin work that Trump announced on social media. Reyes asked Robertson three different times whether Interior Secretary Doug Burgum directed his staff to begin work to meet the deadline after Trump’s visit.

“So is there a deadline, a date somewhere on paper, in the ether, wherever, where someone has been instructed to start something on September 1st?” she asked.

Does that really matter, or just Orange Man Bad stuff?

Reyes indicated that, while she is unlikely to grant the government’s motion to dismiss the lawsuit, the plaintiffs face an uphill battle to persuade her to enjoin the government from proceeding.

Reyes requested that the two parties’ attorneys reach an agreement through which significant planned action will be conveyed beforehand, though Robertson said that the government did not have a legal obligation to do so.

Will Bardwell, a lawyer for the legal advocacy nonprofit Democracy Forward, urged Reyes to issue an injunction preventing the Trump administration from moving ahead with the renovation. He cited debris dumped on the side from the White House East Wing renovation, saying that significant asbestos and arsenic content could harm the local ecosystem.

Yeah, there’s no need to come to any agreement with a hardcore whackadoodle liberal group infused with TDS. Because that’s what they are. Nutbar. I wonder if any of them even golf there.

Reyes said she was reluctant to intervene at this stage. Although Bardwell suggested that the administration might move forward without the required permitting and environmental reviews, she said that no laws had yet been clearly broken.

“I don’t want to file an injunction,” said Reyes, adding that she was seeking to avoid contempt proceedings. “And I’m not there yet.”

I’m wondering why a judge is even wasting time with this. It’s a golf course. They get rejuvenated periodically (or sold to become houses, townhomes, and apartments, as I’ve seen happen to 2 around here. One I loved playing, had good hills and water features). And, seriously, 28 paragraphs for dedoing a golf course? Really?

(WTOP) Reyes also repeatedly challenged lawyers for the D.C. Preservation League to explain exactly what power she had to stop the project and whether they had shown the kind of harm needed for an injunction. The group argued the court should prevent meaningful ground disturbance while the lawsuit moves forward.

The Washington Post forgot that part. Also, if she doesn’t have the power, why is she continuing this farce?

Climate Cult Says Federal Law Requires States To Plan For Climate Doom

The Law Requires States to Plan for Climate Impacts

Currently, dangerous heat is baking much of the eastern United States, with heat indices in some areas forecasted to exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Unfortunately, climate-driven disasters are becoming more frequent and severe across the nation. Floods and droughts are increasing, hurricanes are intensifying, and extreme heat waves, like the one happening now, are becoming commonplace.

All complete BS, and, notice, they blame flood and drought.

NRDC and the Sabin Center for Climate Change Law released a new report reaffirming that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has a legal duty to require consideration of climate change in state hazard mitigation plans. Under the Stafford Act—a federal law that governs disaster preparedness and recovery efforts—states must prepare these plans to be eligible to receive federal hazard mitigation funding. The act sets out requirements for the contents of the plans, which include analysis of all natural hazards that can affect the state.

Planning for these disasters can mean the difference between life and death. By anticipating emergencies, states and local communities can significantly reduce risks to health, minimize property and economic losses, and lessen the psychological trauma of an unexpected crisis. Comprehensive hazard mitigation planning is a proactive approach for reducing risk.

States do plan for certain things depending on what kinds of weather they get. If you leftist states want to do this, have at it. You’re just wasting time and money.

Yet, in the spring of 2025, FEMA, under the second Trump administration, removed all mentions of climate from the state mitigation planning policy guide. The state planning guide contains current information on FEMA’s policy priorities when awarding hazard mitigation assistance and includes detailed technical guidance on what to include in state plans. Past versions of the guide have recognized that consideration of climate change is a critical component of state hazard mitigation plans to adequately “identify the natural hazards, risks, and vulnerabilities of areas in the State,” as required by the Stafford Act.

The 2025 guide merely states, “The risk assessment must provide an overview of the probability of future hazard events, including types, location, range of anticipated intensities, frequency, and/or duration of each natural hazard.” The former references to climate change–related increases in probability were removed.

The cult is unhappy that the Trump admin is requiring realistic plans, not ones based on cult dogma.

Immigrant Arrests Surge to 10,000 in 5 Days as ICE Clamps Down

Federal immigration officials have detained more than 10,000 people in the last five days, a major surge that has stemmed from a push within Immigration and Customs Enforcement to increase arrest rates.

Agency leaders in recent days ordered top ICE officials to focus more of their officers’ efforts on picking up immigrants they want to deport, according to documents obtained by The New York Times and interviews with federal officials. ICE officers have arrested people at check-ins with immigration authorities, during traffic stops and on the street. The push has apparently yielded results, with recent arrest numbers roughly doubling from the 1,000 picked up each day earlier this year.

ICE officials were told that the White House wanted an increase in arrests, according to three officials with knowledge of the conversations. One of the officials said that it was unclear how long the pace could continue, but that ICE officials had been told that 2,000 arrests a day was the new standard for enforcement.

The surge has occurred without the fanfare of highly visible operations last year, in which officials announced their intentions ahead of time to target cities, including Chicago and Los Angeles, and send officers pouring into the streets. Markwayne Mullin, the homeland security secretary, pledged to mount a quieter enforcement campaign following the chaos of a monthlong operation in Minnesota, where federal officers killed two U.S. citizens.

They’re depending on the US Credentialed Media having hissy fits over this, as it will freak out the illegals and hopefully get lots to leave the US.

The rise in arrests suggests that President Trump is determined to meet his pledge of mass deportations, a goal that is popular among his conservative supporters but that has fueled a political backlash amid the administration’s heavy-handed tactics. The Trump administration has promised more aggressive actions, particularly after the Supreme Court in recent days expanded the president’s power to set federal immigration policy, but undercut his effort to eliminate birthright citizenship for the children of illegal immigrants and visitors.

The only ones whining about “heavy-handed tactics” are liberals, who won’t support Trump, won’t vote for Trump, and, really, why would Trump care? He cannot be re-elected. What he should do is ship lots of illegals to high end liberal enclaves, like Martha’s Vineyard, Beverly Hills, Obama’s neighborhood in Chicago, etc.

“Our message is clear: If you come to our country illegally, we will find you, we will arrest you and we will deport you,” Lauren Bis, a Department of Homeland Security spokeswoman, said in a statement.

Word of an uptick in arrests has started to trickle out, sowing fear in immigrant communities and among advocates already on edge after the Supreme Court ruled that Mr. Trump could end deportation protections for people from disaster- and war-torn countries under the Temporary Protected Status program.

Surprise: Young Warmists Are Being Paid To Be Wackos

‘I don’t just watch climate change happening’: the young Swedes being paid to make a difference

Oona Verveld and Clara Vikberg have just secured their first paid summer jobs. While their peers are mostly limited to entry-level positions in retail or fast-food restaurants, the 18-year-olds are some of the first among their generation to have landed a new type of role: young planetary stewards.

“Someone came up with the simple idea that, since young people clearly need jobs, why not create them?” says My Sellberg, the project manager and programme lead for regenerative development at Upplandsbygd, a non-profit based north of Stockholm. “The strongest objective was to inspire hope for the future among our young residents.”

Sweden has one of the highest youth unemployment rates in the EU. About 24% of 15– to 24-year-old Swedes are classified as unemployed, compared with an EU average of about 15%. While Sweden’s figures are partly influenced by the way students seeking work are counted in the statistics, the labour market remains challenging for young people trying to gain their first professional experience. In the UK, youth unemployment has also risen sharply, reaching about 16% in late 2025, its highest level in more than a decade.

Upplandsbygd, which is funded by the five municipalities it covers and the EU, supports initiatives, funds local development projects and builds networks and knowledge – all with sustainability at their core. The organisation employs the “leader method”, a bottom-up approach used by the EU to fund local rural development projects.

So they’re just making bullshit jobs up for the Yutes? Huh

What makes the programme distinctive is its combination of grassroots action and structured support. Young participants are matched with local organisations – from farms to conservation groups – and receive funding of up to 40,000 Swedish krona (£4,000) per person alongside mentoring in project management. Most importantly, the project ideas come from the young people themselves.

If the money is coming from the government I’m not sure that can be considered “grassroots”.

Other projects launched through the YPS scheme include: restoring biodiversity by clearing invasive species; creating habitats such as a frog pond; an oak tree inventory to strengthen their protection; building bird boxes and insect hotels; creating a new stretch of hiking trail; and running community workshops in local libraries on how to have meaningful conversations about climate and sustainability.

Most all of the “jobs” mentioned in the story have zero to do with ‘climate change’, they’re just normal basic environmental things.

For Vikberg the interest for the climate started as a scout and a love for the outdoors. “Young people are often disconnected to nature. I want to spread the joy of spending time outdoors,” she says. “If you have an interest for it, you also care for it more.”

Most of the Warmists are urbanists and affluent.

Liberal Clothes Designer Learns That Liberals Hate The American Flag

She seemed to be doing this for the wrong reasons, and learned a valuable lesson about her Comrades

A designer tried to reclaim the American flag. Her liberal followers revolted.

Kimberley Gordon designs dreamy, feminine, size-inclusive dresses for her brand, Selkie. It’s winking, upscale whimsy — the kind of gown a woman might wear to twirl in a field of wildflowers, or feel like a princess.

And for her latest line, Gordon took inspiration from America’s semiquincentennial, generally, and its flag, specifically. There are red, white and blue corsets, star-print lace-trim slip dresses, faded flag-striped bloomers and empire-waist maxi dresses.

The rollout did not go as planned.

“It was getting a lot of love,” she says, “and then it suddenly started getting a lot of hate. Like a lot of hate.”

Surprise?

“This just looks like a bizarre colonial/antebellum fantasy,” one commenter posted on Selkie’s Instagram.

“The American flag is a symbol of racism, homophobia and capitalism,” added another.

How could the company “put out a patriotic line during a time when patriotism is impossible to untangle from fascism?” asked Diet Prada, a fashion social media account.

What made Gordon think her customers, who were all about Leftistm because her clothing was all about leftism, would be the type of people who were patriotic and like American flag colors?

“When I thought about the flag and how it was off limits all of a sudden because of the country being divided, I felt really frustrated,” she says. She wanted Americans on the left — much of her client base — to feel like they could wear the flag, too. They are, after all, every bit as American as those on the right.

Gordon introduced the line with images of suffragists and a photo shoot that showed the clothing on models who are immigrants, some plus-size, one of whom is a wheelchair user.

“We refuse to surrender the symbols of this country to those who would use them against us,” Selkie’s marketing declared.

Doing it all for the wrong reasons. I’m really not seeing anything about love of the U.S.A.

But when Jade Stevenson, a Black writer who specializes in alternative fashion, saw the collection, she felt confused and disappointed. The brand’s suffragette posts didn’t acknowledge how that historical movement centered White women, many of whom were racist. The silhouettes of the gowns felt nostalgic in an antebellum way, rather than a radical way.

“I’m not seeing what America looks like to me,” Stevenson told The Washington Post. Despite knowing Gordon’s stated goals for the line, “at the end of the day, the flag does so much damage, not only historically, but even in present day. So it’s kind of weird to want to reclaim it.”

How often do you see a Democrat voter wearing the American flag, even if it is just a pin? Especially when a Republican is in office? Heck, they aren’t too happy with it when a Dem is in office.

And with the proliferation of flag merch in stores lately, some influencers and podcasters have been grappling with what it means to wear the flag, too. Content creator Hannah Brown posted an Instagram reel of herself showing off a red and white gingham romper with the caption “If you see me celebrating America’s 250th birthday, just know I mean it in a free public libraries, abortion is healthcare, separation of church and state … kind of way.” Influencer Katie Wood’s post about “4th of July outfits for liberal baddies” included a blue baseball cap with the embroidered phrase “Make lying wrong again.”

If the Washington Post wanted to make Democrats not look pure moonbat, they’re doing a bad job at it, but, come on, the article itself is written for Democrats only. And really shows how much Liberals hate the U.S.

Also, maybe she shouldn’t have overdone the clothing line? I’m way, way far from a fashion expert, but, seems a bit too much.

Huh: Fired Climate Wacko Scientists Crowdfund Climate Wacko Website

It’s almost like they didn’t need federal government money

After Trump axed federal employees running climate site, thousands crowdfund its comeback

Federal employees who were axed during waves of cuts by the Trump administration have fought back against the dismantling of a key climate science website, Climate.gov, and put up a new site, Climate.us, that can now do everything the original did.

The site, with millions of users each year, was known for colorful charts that anyone could freely download and that simplified giant sets of data, such as temperature readings. Now it refers to another page and is no longer being updated.

Daniel Swain, a UC Agriculture & Natural Resources climate scientist, called the resources available at Climate.gov “the most efficacious dollars spent by NOAA on public-facing science, possibly ever.” He has used graphics from the former website on his popular weather blog.

Rebecca Lindsey was the editorial lead and program manager for Climate.gov until February 2025, when her position at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration was eliminated by the Elon Musk-led Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE. She explained that the online resource was “a bridge between scientists, data and the public.”

Lindsey and her team have now rebuilt the bridge piece by piece, if just a bit further downstream.

Do you know what I find even more interesting: that none of the rich Warmists, all those Hollywood folks, etc, didn’t pony up the money to run the site instead of doing a crowdfund. Also, what are the Warmists rebuilding the site doing for jobs?

The group has raised some $380,000, about $100,000 of which came in the last week. They also have recruited 80 scientists who are willing to volunteer as subject matter experts and fact checkers. It’s enough to keep the work going through February while they seek more long-term funding.

How about they get jobs? Or, is no one hiring for this?
