Bummer: Climate (scam) News Is Written In A Language Most People Don’t Understand

Climate news is written in a language most people can’t understand

In the summer of 2023, more than 19,000 people were forced to evacuate as wildfires swept through Yellowknife, the capital of Canada’s Northwest Territories. Emergency alerts were issued in French and English, but not in the nine Indigenous languages that are recognized as official languages in the territory, forcing some Indigenous families to rely on friends, radio broadcasts, and social media for critical information.

So more leftist white knighting, thinking that the Indigenous in Canada do not understand English or French? Why do leftists always think “minorities” are stupid and incapable?

A new white paper argues that the lack of translated disaster warnings is emblematic of a much broader problem: Climate change information, from emergency alerts to scientific research, is overwhelmingly produced only in English. The research, published by Climate Cardinals, a youth-led climate advocacy organization focused on language access, found that 80 percent of scientific papers are published in English, which is spoken by just 18 percent of the world’s population. The researchers argue that most of the world is excluded from the information needed to understand how climate change is reshaping the planet, including people in positions of power.

Well, it could be that those papers are written by first worlders who have the luxury to care about the climate scam in theory. Most of the 2nd and 3rd world are not exactly doing scientific investigation, you know?

“Language is not just about inclusion, but I think really determines what would count as climate reality,” said Jackie Vandermel, research co-director at Climate Cardinals. “Language is not just about who receives the information, but also what is allowed to even exist in climate governance.”

See? The problem is the language, not that the vast majority of Warmists fail to practice what they preach, showing it is all a lie.

The report puts particular emphasis on the need for Indigenous language translations, including in emergencies like those in Yellowknife. Indigenous languages, researchers note, are increasingly threatened not only by colonialism but also by climate change itself. Forced migration can sever ties to ancestral lands, making it more difficult to teach languages to new generations. At the same time, Indigenous languages embed detailed understandings of local ecosystems and weather not captured elsewhere. Indigenous peoples are also disproportionately exposed to climate impacts, like melting Arctic ice and Pacific typhoons. The result can mean that Indigenous peoples face heightened climate risks and get less access to relevant information while struggling to preserve languages that could be critical to fighting climate change.

Hey, through all the thinking Indigenous are children in need of nannyism, did anyone think to ask them if they give a rat’s ass about the scam?

Dems Trot Out Bill To Let Citizens Sue ICE

Republicans should counter with a bill that would allow citizens to sue Democrats individually for wasting taxpayer money

Democrat’s bill would let people sue ICE over misconduct

Oregon Democratic Sen. Jeff Merkley wants to allow people to sue over immigration enforcement officers’ infringement of their constitutional rights, according to a copy of his new bill shared with Semafor.

The bill would allow people who are deprived of “rights, privileges, or immunities” by Immigration and Customs Enforcement or Customs and Border Protection to sue the federal government, with the funds paid out of last year’s tax cuts law, which included billions for immigration enforcement.

It’ll be a nonstarter for the Republicans, but will demonstrates the scale of change Democrats now believe is needed.

“ICE and CBP must face consequences if their agents wrongfully violate citizens’ rights to protest and free speech, search people’s homes without a warrant, or deny due process,” Merkley said.

If you click that Semafor link you’ll see that this is meant to bestow US Rights on people who are illegally present in the US, and would end up giving them a legal status. Those suits could take years, meaning that illegals couldn’t be deported during that time period. And if a huge chunk of them are doing this, how many millions would be considered non-deportable? 5? 10? Just like claiming asylum, which are mostly false, but, cannot deport till have their day in court.

It would also allow the unhinged liberal base to sue after their mostly peaceful protests, after interfering with federal immigration authorities.

Of course, there is zero chance this passes. But, what if Dems win the House and Senate in the Fall? Might they nuke the filibuster to pass it?

Illinois lawmakers plan to introduce a climate change superfund bill in the state legislature this session, the latest in a growing number of states seeking to make fossil fuel companies pay up for the fast-growing financial fallout of climate change.

As the costs of global warming rise—in the form of home insurance premiums, utility bills, health expenses and record-breaking damages from extreme weather—local advocates are increasingly pushing states to require that fossil fuel companies contribute to climate “superfunds” that would support mitigation and adaptation.

Illinois state Rep. Robyn Gabel, who will introduce the bill in the House, said she is motivated by the growing threat of flooding and heat waves in the state.

“The costs with climate change are going to be extravagant, and it’s going to end up on the backs of the taxpayers, and the oil companies continue to walk away with huge profits,” said Gabel, an Evanston Democrat. “Polluting companies should be responsible for the damage they cause.”

Advocates will rally on Thursday morning in Chicago to support what’s known as the “Make Polluters Pay” effort as part of a national week of action, with climate activists and disaster survivors holding events across the country, including in Connecticut, Colorado, California, New Jersey and Maine. Two states—New York and Vermont—have already passed climate superfund laws.

Yeah, it’s really a slush fund, nothing more, and all the costs will be passed on to the users. Have fun, Illinois people, you voted for this.

Oh Noes, GOP Mayors Take On Trump Over Illegals

‘Our cities are no longer safe’: GOP mayors condemn Trump immigration enforcement

A number of Republican mayors are condemning the Trump administration’s hardline immigration enforcement tactics in Minnesota, as they call on the president to pull back from Minneapolis and worry their cities might be next.

“It’s roiling the country,” Oklahoma City Mayor David Holt told POLITICO. “We’re all sort of feeling the angst of our residents and the fear that our city will be next and that chaos is going to inevitably creep across the entire country.”

Fresno, California, Mayor Jerry Dyer said in an interview that “too much damage has been done” with the crackdown and “the trust in communities has been lost.”

And Burnsville, Minnesota, Mayor Elizabeth Kautz, warned that the agency’s current tactics meant “our cities are no longer safe.”

The remarks from the trio of moderate-leaning GOP mayors who have broken with Trump in the past came at the annual gathering of the nonpartisan U.S. Conference of Mayors, held blocks from the White House. Holt chairs the conference.

And then there’s ……. no one else. This is what the Credentialed Media does, find a few utter squishes and inflates the importance, making it seem as if there are a whole bunch who disagree with Trump, and that their voices are super important and Should Be Listened To. When, in fact, there are always going to be a few who disagree, especially when there are plenty of pure Squishes in the GOP. Burnsville is right outside Little Somalia, er, Minneapolis, so, of course Kautz is going to be Squish. Fresno is weird, because it is a majority Dem city which tends to vote Republican mayors, who are utter Squishes. Holt has been a Never Trumper who cavorts with the wackos at The Bulwark.

The Republican leaders’ calls for Trump to deescalate after the fatal shootings of two Minnesotans by federal agents show the GOP’s deepening fissures over the administration’s aggressive immigration agenda, even as the mayors and Republicans broadly offered support for the president’s overall goal. And their alarm comes as ICE ramps up operations in other states, including Arizona and Maine.

Do the voters care what the get along go along Republicans, the Never Trumpers, the Squishes think? Trump voters are thrilled by this.

Good News: US Is Officially Out Of Paris Climate (scam) Agreement

Seriously, how could we actually be in it when it was set up to avoid the required vote by the US Senate on treaties, Article II, Section 2, Clause 2?

America Officially Leaves the Paris Climate Agreement. For the Second Time.

As of Tuesday, the United States is no longer a party to the Paris agreement on climate change, becoming the only country in the world to abandon the international commitment to slow global warming.

The formal departure from the climate accord comes one year after President Trump signed an executive order to begin the process of withdrawal. Earlier this month Mr. Trump said the United States would also leave the United Nations treaty that underlies the Paris agreement, which was unanimously ratified by the U.S. Senate in 1992 and signed by President George H.W. Bush.

The dual moves by Mr. Trump underline America’s isolation in the effort to control emissions of greenhouse gases, mostly from the burning of fossil fuels, that are dangerously heating the planet.

I had to look to see if this was in the news section or opinion, but, it’s in the climate section, so, cult opinion.

The United States is currently the planet’s second largest climate polluter after China. It is also the largest historic emitter of greenhouse gases in the world, which is notable because emissions linger in the atmosphere for decades or even centuries, trapping heat and contributing to sea level rise, heat waves and intensifying extreme weather like floods, wildfires and droughts.

CO2 is not a pollutant, so, yeah, this is cult propaganda.

Wopke Hoekstra, the European Union climate commissioner, said abandoning the Paris agreement is a “clear absence of leadership” that will have “significant negative impacts” on America’s reputation.

Seriously, no one really cares, except all the 3rd world shitholes and island nations which like the zero strings attached scam money to flow in.

“What others will say is, ‘How on Earth is it possible that a country with this might, with this deep a purse, and with this direct responsibility for the planet heating up, basically checks out’?” Mr. Hoekstra said.

See? It’s the money. If these big wigs really cared then they’d make sure they had a zero carbon footprint in their own lives, and that their countries were actually moving towards the “1.5C” goal, when, in fact, most are missing it.

Jennifer Morgan, a senior fellow at the Fletcher School at Tufts University and Germany’s former climate envoy, said she believes other countries will continue to transition to clean energy. But she said, “It will really require leadership from the European Union and other countries to be a heavyweight against the Trump administration’s efforts to roll things back.”

Good. Let’s see how much further their economies and societies collapse. Every experiment needs an experimental group.

ICE Agents And Their Families Seeing Massive Increase In Death Threats

‘I Hope Your Wife Dies:’ ICE Agents, Their Families Face 8,000% Increase in Death Threats

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, tasked by Congress to carry out federal immigration law, are facing an unprecedented increase in death threats against themselves and their families.

This week, ICE officials revealed the extent to which agents are being threatened by “Abolish ICE” sympathizers, detailing an 8,000 percent increase in death threats and a more than 1,300 percent increase in assaults against agents.

In one recent threat, officials said, a man left a voicemail on an ICE agent’s phone in which he called him a “fucking fascist pig” and pleaded with him to “kill yourself,” as well as making threats against the agent’s wife.

“I hope your wife dies. I hope your mom and dad die,” the man said in the voicemail, according to officials. “I hope everything wrong that could go in your life happens. I hope you have the most miserable life.”

Of course, Democrats will surely defend this by saying that if ICE wasn’t doing the job as directed by federal law there would be no problem. I wonder, why didn’t they do this when Obama was deporting the hell out of people?

Around 67 died in custody under Obama. The numbers show that at least 55%, up to 84%, were summary removals and non-judicial, meaning they did not see a judge or have a formal hearing. Yet, no riots, no death threats.

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin said elected Democrats in sanctuary jurisdictions are fanning the flames that are emboldening anti-ICE activists to threaten agents.

“Make no mistake, threatening rhetoric and this unprecedented violence against our law enforcement is incited by sanctuary politicians through their repeated vilification and demonization of law enforcement,” McLaughlin said.

“Comparing ICE day-in and day-out to the Nazi Gestapo, the Secret Police, and slave patrols has consequences,” McLaughlin said. “The men and women of ICE are fathers and mothers, sons and daughters. They get up every morning to try and make our communities safer. Like everyone else, we just want to go home to our families at night. The violence and dehumanization of these men and women who are simply enforcing the law must stop.”

Democrat politicians and talking heads, the leaders in the Dem party, are enabling the behavior with what they say. The peasants feel empowered to be violent, to make threats. Like this

People’s Republik Of Maine Considers Making Fossil Fuels Companies Pay

Fossil fuel companies are spewing billions of tons of greenhouse gases into the air every year. These gases rise and act like a blanket in the atmosphere, reflecting heat back toward the Earth, where it’s absorbed by the ocean. This is why the Gulf of Maine is one of the fastest warming bodies of water on the planet.

Funny how every body of water is the fastest warming, eh? It’s almost like this is based on cult doctrine, not science

Our rising ocean temperatures are the root cause of more frequent and more severe storms. And these storms are costly. Flooding, high winds and falling trees have cost Maine electric ratepayers over $200 million in each of the past four years. We see these costs in our rising electric bills.

No, it’s just that there are more buildings and such and everything costs more. Hell, thanks to COVID that cost is probably double what it would have been in 2019

As storms and costs continue to increase, it’s time to hold fossil fuel companies accountable. Maine electric ratepayers should not pay for climate damage they did not cause. Nor should they pay for local infrastructure to protect downtowns, roads, bridges and sewage treatment plants from flooding.

This is the rationale behind “polluter pays” legislation, an important bill before the Legislature this month.

Introduced by state Sen. Stacy Brenner, the “Polluter Pays” bill (LD 1870) would charge fossil fuel companies a fee for climate damage they’ve caused in Maine. The funds would be deposited into a state “climate superfund” and used to pay for storm repair and strengthening local infrastructure.

Why is it never “users pay”? Because the people of Maine sure use a lot. Hey, just look at Governor Janet Mills, who took a fossil fueled private jet to California for a fundraiser in January. Oh, and

This was done for the storm days, for which 70% of their power came from fossil fuels. Think solar would have worked as the snow came down? How about wind turbines as they froze?

Soros-backed Philadelphia DA vows to ‘hunt’ down ICE agents: ‘We will find you’

Philadelphia’s top prosecutor, a George Soros-backed district attorney, is facing scrutiny and backlash after vowing to “hunt” down federal immigration agents as city leaders move to curb ICE operations.

Speaking during a morning event outside City Hall tied to newly unveiled “ICE OUT” legislation, District Attorney Larry Krasner sharply criticized Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers.

“This is a small bunch of wannabe Nazis. That’s what they are,” Krasner said. “In a country of 350 million, we outnumber them. If we have to hunt you down the way they hunted down Nazis for decades, we will find your identities. We will find you. We will achieve justice.”

First off, he’s giving the green light for the Dem wackos to attack ICE agents. Second, he could easily have set himself up to be sued for defamation/slander by employees of ICE.

Swalwell promises, if elected governor, former ICE agents would be ‘unhirable’ in California

Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., appeared to say on Tuesday that if he is elected governor, former ICE agents would be forbidden any future employment or even driver’s licenses in California. (big snip)

“And I have said that when I‘m governor of California, if you wear a mask in California, you‘re losing your driver’s license. If you have worked for ICE in the past, you are unhirable in our state. That law enforcement will prosecute you for kidnapping, battery, assault, murder on the people in our communities.

Well, good luck with that, Sparky. Have fun getting sued
