Mayor Zohran Mamdani signed an executive order recognizing 9/11 Friday — and then gave the symbolic pen to his controversial aide who once represented an al-Qaeda terrorist with links to the attack on the Pentagon.

Administration officials were gathered at City Hall for a pair of executive orders — ahead of the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks — one establishing a Day of Remembrance and another beefing up security against future terror threats.

After Mamdani signed the last of the documents, Hizzoner gave Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch the ceremonial pen, and whispered, “Can you pass this?”

Tisch awkwardly handed it to Mamdani’s chief counsel, Ramzi Kassem, who just snuck into the press conference, before she hurried out of the Blue Room — the first official to exit the press conference.

“It was calculated,” retired detective and adjunct professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice Michael Alazar told The Post.

“It happened during a ceremony meant to be about the victims, and no one else. 9/11 families didn’t come to City Hall to watch Mamdani spotlight someone whose work intersects with the very ideology that took their loved ones. Commissioner Jessica Tisch was reduced to a prop rather than acknowledging her role as the leader of the NYPD.”

Look, someone has to act as council for any scumsucking piece of shit, but, some seem to like it a whole lot more than others. Kassem is an Islamic radical who loves terrorists, and hates Jews and Israel.

“Ramzi Kassem said he was inspired by 9/11 — not to join the fight against terrorism, but to defend the terrorists themselves. He doesn’t even belong in this country, much less in our government,” seethed Council Member Vicki Paladino (R-Queens).

“His participation in anything related to 9/11 is an insult to every New Yorker who survived that day, and indeed all Americans. But I suspect that’s the point.

Yeah, even a lot of Democrat New Yorkers are upset that he was picked, and upset about him being involved. But, what did they think they were going to get with Mamdani? This is just the beginning of trying to Islamicize NYC.

Central Park adapts to climate change while helping New York stay cool

climate cowNew York’s Central Park – one of the world’s most recognisable landmarks – is experiencing heavier downpours, flooding and soil erosion, while prolonged heatwaves are putting pressure on the ecosystem as well as visitors.

The bedrock is not actually that far down. And as they continue to build/rebuild in NYC they ignore the infrastructure that moves water away.

But the park also helps New York cope with the heat. It helps cool the city, clean the air, capture stormwater and gives people a place to escape the heat under the trees. The temperature in the park can be around 5°Celsius (10°F) lower than on surrounding streets, according to the Central Park Climate Lab.

That’s because all those buildings, power supplies, ovens, roadways, etc and so on artificially increase the ambient temperature from normal

“Central Park and urban parks are so much more than just recreation spaces,” said Yanina Kupava, a Director at the Central Park Conservancy. “They are vital urban green infrastructure.”

Then we should raze a lot of buildings. Starting with the UN building

All those tens of thousands of big wigs taking long, fossil fueled private flights, eh?

As politicians and experts discuss how cities can adapt to a warming planet, some of those solutions can already be seen just a few blocks away in the park.

Central Park was built in the 1850s, at the beginning of the Modern Warm Period. Then a heat trapping mega-city was built around it.

Democrats Upset Over AI CEOs Talking To Trump On Regulation

‘I don’t think anyone is really comfortable’: Democrat leading on AI raises alarms at Trump, Zuckerberg call

A House Democrat trying to lead her party on artificial intelligence policy sent a warning shot Friday to tech CEOs trying to undermine efforts to regulate the fast-growing technology.

In an interview, Rep. Lori Trahan raised alarm bells over a POLITICO report detailing attempts by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg to personally discourage President Donald Trump from moving ahead with plans to establish an independent AI regulator modeled after the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, or FINRA.

“I don’t think anyone is really comfortable when they see tech executives who are sitting on the stage at the president’s inauguration, and have had to pay millions of dollars to this fund and that fund, calling the shots,” said the Massachusetts Democrat.

Allowing Zuckerberg to call the shots on the proposed AI commission would be tantamount to “a complete abdication of Congress,” Trahan continued. She also suggested she would use her perch on the House Energy and Commerce Committee to work with other Democrats to haul in industry executives like Zuckerberg to testify, should Democrats win back the House majority in the midterms.

Perhaps it’s wise for elected officials and brureaucrats to listen to the actual people involved, eh? Good on Trahan, she at least worked in the private sector for a while for a software company called ChoiceStream, but, was in marketing and than the chief revenue officer, so, doesn’t really understand software.

Unlike other Democrats who have retreated to their corners to work on partisan proposals, Trahan has gone out on a limb by crossing the aisle to broker a deal on a bipartisan AI safety bill with Rep. Jay Obernolte (R-Calif.) — a package that was originally met with disdain by members of both parties.

Maybe it was bad policy?

Her calls are consistent with left-leaning members like Rep. Greg Casar, a Texas Democrat and chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, who has been at the forefront of the most aggressive proposals to crack down on top tech companies.

“The CEOs of Anthropic and OpenAI say that cutting edge AI could be as dangerous as nuclear weapons,” Casar said Thursday on X in response to the POLITICO report. “But Trump is conspiring with billionaires for this technology to be regulated like … Hollywood movies.”

Dems like Casar would prefer regulating everything to the extreme, which ends up stifling the industry.

Trahan said Friday that “reasonable people can disagree on what regulatory construct we come up with” governing development and use of AI.

But, she added, “what I don’t think the American people agree with is that Mark Zuckerberg and President Trump are going to figure that out on a phone call.”

And there’s the TDS. There’s nothing wrong with a phone call. Are citizens, even rich ones, not allowed to discuss issues with elected officials now?

Warmists Seriously Hoping For Favorable Outcome On Polluter Pays Law

Court decision on NYS ‘polluter pays’ law is not final outcome on climate change costs

New York is waiting to see the outcome of a separate court decision to find out the fate of its Climate Change Superfund law. Monday, a federal judge in the Northern District of New York struck down the measure, saying it was an overreach of state authority on an issue that should be addressed by Washington.

The law called for New York to collect up to $75 Billion from companies that caused climate change impacts over a 25-year period by extracting or burning fossil fuels that contributed more than a billion tons of greenhouse gas emissions. (snip)

He noted there are other cases, including one in the Southern District of New York, challenging the same law. That case could come to a different decision, “there’s definitely a lot of unknowns about the next step, but this is far from over, I think, in the sense that this is just one district court making one decision.”

Ladin said the court decision and the law itself raises the issue of responsibility.

“I would say that the basic question is, as a society, who do we expect to pay for the harms of climate change? Because we can’t pretend that there are no harms. We know that there are harms. We know storms are getting worse. We know flooding is getting worse. We know extreme weather is getting worse. And it costs a lot of money to deal with that and to adapt to it.,” said Ladin.

I expect those who complain to pay based on their Beliefs

The impacts of climate change are inevitable, he contended, and residents could have influence, “then this is either a question for a state government if the courts change their mind, on appeal, or it’s a question for the federal government and people should make sure that they make their voices heard.”

So, if they’re inevitable, then why bother?

Nick Shirley Sues POC Over “Stop Nick Shirley Act”

Nick Shirley sues California over law shielding information of immigration support workers

Bill Of RightsRight-wing influencer Nick Shirley sued Californiaon Friday over a newly passed law he claims targets his investigatory work into fraud permeating government-funded programs.

Dubbed the “Stop Nick Shirley Act” by Shirley supporters, the law adds immigration support service providers to California’s Safe at Home program, which allows qualifying people to use a confidential address in public records. The program also covers victims of sexual assault, stalking and child abduction, among others.

Shirley says the law could impose liability for publishing or revealing certain personal information about immigration service providers, even if obtained lawfully.

“The First Amendment does not allow the government to silence truthful reporting because it is controversial, inconvenient, or politically disfavored,” Shirley says, adding: “In practical terms, the law places a target on all the investigative reporting Mr. Shirley conducts.”

Shirley asks a federal judge to declare the law a violation of the First and 14th amendments and stop California from enforcing it.

Let’s see Article I (Declaration of Rights), Section 2 of the California constitution:

(a) Every person may freely speak, write and publish his or her sentiments on all subjects, being responsible for the abuse of this right. A law may not restrain or abridge liberty of speech or press.

Hmm, seems pretty specific. All California is trying to do is stop anyone from….investigating fraudulent use of taxpayer money, especially by aliens, be they legal or illegal.

“I’m suing California…” Shirley stated Friday on his X account. “California has decided to push for less transparency and create laws that penalize citizens and journalists for looking into potential fraud inside ‘immigration support services providers.’ A written demand is all it takes to stop the publishing of a video in California. Enough is enough.”

How fast will the California law be killed?

Palestine: Israel’s bombing has left Gaza vulnerable to climate change

Israel’s bombardment of Gaza during the conflict that broke out in October 2023 has wrecked progress towards adapting the enclave to climate change and left two million Gazans vulnerable to heatwaves, drought and disease, the Palestinian Authority (PA) said in a new climate plan submitted to the United Nations.

Palestine’s third nationally determined contribution (NDC), uploaded to the UN climate body’s website this week, says that while “the aggression on the Gaza Strip did not make the climate worse”, “it removed the housing, water and sanitation systems, health facilities, energy networks, roads and livelihoods through which people absorb a climate they were already struggling with.”

The 91-page document lists the types of infrastructure it says Israel has destroyed and notes how the destruction will worsen the impacts of climate change. It says the bombing of hospitals and rising hunger have make it harder for Gazans to cope with the health impacts of climate-driven heatwaves and waterborne diseases.

Was this document written by Hamas or uber-white 1st world wackjobs? Maybe Hamas shouldn’t have started a war they couldn’t win? Shouldn’t have attacked Israel in a way that “broke the camel’s back” and saw so much of Gaza annihilated? Perhaps Palestinians shouldn’t have let Hamas use hospitals and so many more buildings as place to hide and store weapons? Stopped Hamas from using water pipes to building rockets? Seriously, the only reasons Hamas might mention climate doom is to get the weenie cultist in Western nations, most of whom are white and affluent, to take up the cause.

Democrats Discover That Their Socialism Is Turning Off Hispanic Voters

Democrats worry rising socialism turning off Hispanic voters

Democrats have been trying to regain lost ground with Hispanic voters since the bruising 2024 election.

But as they attempt to win back voters who migrated to the GOP, Democrats are also gripping with the rise of democratic socialism within their own party — a movement they see as a turnoff to some Hispanic voters, particularly the older set who hail from nations like Cuba and Venezuela.

Democratic strategists say while they may prevail in the midterms, they worry that the socialism label will take hold in the 2028 presidential election if centrists in their party don’t sound the alarm.

“Socialism is a nonstarter in places like Florida, where there are big swaths of Hispanic voters,” said one Democratic strategist in the state. “The word in and of itself is toxic.” (snip)

Polling shows that democratic socialism has yet to gain traction among Hispanic Democrats.

A Pew Research Center survey released earlier this year found that just 20 percent of Democratic and Democratic-leaning Hispanic voters viewed political leaders who identify as democratic socialists favorably — compared with 21 percent of Black Democrats, 30 percent of Asian Democrats and 40 percent of white voters in their party.

What’s not to like?

  • Abolishing the U.S. Senate. (nah, let’s just repeal the 17th)
  • Expanding the House of Representatives to an unspecified number (I actually think it should be at least tripled, since each rep right now represents over 700K, meaning there really is no representation)
  • Abolishing the Electoral College and having Congress elect the president and Supreme Court (meaning all leftists)
  • Ridding the system of lobbyists and “dark money” (which is a 1st Amendment violation. And the left takes tons of dark money)
  • “End Mass Incarceration and Police Immunity:” (they mean to end jails and police)
  • Reparations
  • “Feminism for All:” (yeah, this is a much longer bit of insanity)
  • Support for Hamas
  • Don’t forget how many are Muslims, and support hardcore Islamic extremism. And then non-Muslims are wackjobs who support Islamism, hate Israel, hate Jews
  • Defund America’s military, you know, the thing mentioned specifically in the Constitution
  • Support for Iran, Cuba, and Venezuela’s hard left authoritarian deposed regime
  • “You don’t pay a mortgage or have a landlord, because comfortable housing is a human right.” (your landlord is the Government, so, you best Comply with their beliefs)
  • Government controlling your healthcare, forcing your kids into Government pre-K
  • Taking your guns away, restricting your ability to defend yourself.

And so much more.

Miranda said last year’s election of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D), who is a self-proclaimed democratic socialist, has “helped to ease some concerns” about the DSA. But he said Democrats will need to stand up to some of the “extreme” views of the organization, including abolishing the Senate and the presidency.

Historically, Hispanic members have made up a small sliver of the DSA. The organization’s national membership survey in 2021 revealed that 9 percent of respondents identified as Hispanic. An internal survey of New York City DSA members this year found that 14 percent of respondents said they were Hispanic. At the same time, 60 percent of those surveyed identified as white.

It’s primarily uber-white leftists, especially the women, who support this crap, and so many are, in fact, affluent. They don’t worry monetarily. They know, or at least think they know, that the authoritarianism of Modern Socialism won’t affect themselves.

Climate Cult Upset Over Gas Powered Streetlights From the 1800s

What can Cincinnati’s gas streetlights teach us about climate change?

Gas streetlights are iconic fixtures in some Cincinnati neighborhoods, from Clifton’s Gaslight District to Pleasant Ridge’s Gas Light Cafe. They’re more than a century old, and have been the focus of preservation campaigns, public safety efforts and budget cuts over the years.

Now, gaslights are the subject of a study from University of Cincinnati researchers, illuminating barriers to tackling climate change. Their findings are published in the Journal of Environmental Studies and Sciences.

Professors Amy Townsend-Small and David Stradling say there are currently about 1,100 gaslights in the city. They run on natural gas and burn 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. And, the researchers say, they’re leaky.

The professors found gaslights emit about 4% of the fossil fuels they consume, adding climate-warming methane to the atmosphere.

Her testing shows the average Cincinnati gas street light emits 1.7 grams of methane per hour. For comparison, gas stoves release 0.07 grams of methane and water heaters emit 0.2-0.3 grams per hour.

She says as Cincinnati works to transition away from fossil fuels and address climate change, there’s an opportunity to electrify gaslights. Converting the gas-powered lamps to electric is listed as a priority action in the city’s playbook to reduce emissions, the Green Cincinnati Plan.

They seriously wasted time doing this.

In the late 1800s, Cincinnati had about 10,000 streetlights. Approximately 1,000 remain today.

Professor Stradling studies history and says gas lights have been replaced over the years for reasons from cost to the fact that they aren’t as bright as electric streetlights.

The people in the neighborhoods love them. But, Warmists are upset about pretty much anything.
