(Mediaite) CBS Face the Nation moderator Margaret Brennan seemed to be taken aback by a new poll showing nearly two-thirds of Americans favor the deportation of all undocumented migrants.
Speaking with Anthony Salvanto — who oversees CBS News polls — Brennan cited the finding from the network’s just-released poll which showed 62 percent of all Americans support “in principle, a new government program to deport all undocumented immigrants living in the U.S. illegally.”
Brennan noted that, according to statistics from the Department of Homeland Security, “President [Joe] Biden has already deported or repatriated more people in the past year than any year since 2010.” She went on to argue that many of former President Donald Trump’s proposals about the border face major hurdles.
But, Biden has also let way more in. If you’re making way more than any year since 2010 and spending more, it makes sense, right?
“Homeland Security says that President Biden has already deported or repatriated more people in the past year than any year since 2010,” Brennan said. “And then, depending on the details of what’s talked about on the campaign trail, some of what Mr. Trump talks about could be illegal. It doesn’t seem practical, in some sense, to round up children. And then we know that the courts have questioned whether local authorities would have the ability to do it. And federal authorities don’t have the resources. So what exactly do people think they’re supporting?”
How about this: surge the National Guard to the border. Give states authority to catch and deport. Put up border barriers on land and in the rivers. End asylum claims. Make it known that anyone caught illegally in the U.S. will be immediately deported, no court, nothing. Just goodbye, like used to happen pre-1980’s amnesty. That none will get money, housing, food, medical, clothes, education. No support. This will free up federal officials to catch illegals. Require state, county, and local law enforcement to hold illegals. The U.S. has shut down all immigration many times to allow for assimilation. We do this for 20 years and the number of illegals will drop rapidly.
But, we can still allow the normal legal migration for those going through the normal method for citizenship. And, any who overstay visas. Immediate deportation.
“When you measure public sentiment on this — or really, just about any policy — you’re getting a sense of direction,” Salvanto replied. “You’re getting broad brush strokes. But those kinds of details, that’s often up to the legislatures and the courts.”
Isn’t up to We The People? Shouldn’t elected officials follow our wishes?
I heard one TV person comment that if Trump is elected, he won’t have to deport anyone because they will flee on their own. Implied life in America under Trump would be intolerable tyranny. It’s as if no one on the Left remembers that Trump was already president once so guessing how he will behave isn’t necessary. You can look at what he actually did the last time.
The only wildcard is wondering if Trump learned from his last experience how many people in his administration will be undermining him at every turn.
Yesterday’s news was filled with stories about the European elections, and how aghast the Usual Suspects are that conservatives made strong gains.
It seems that it’s not just evil reich-wing Americans who want the illegal immigrants gone; the mostly more liberal than Americans are fed up with unrestricted immigration as well.
The media is isolated from the public.
The results?
Slowly but surely it will collapse.

Biden let in millions for three years and then for one year deported 10 percent of millions who snuck into the country this past year FOR THE ELECTION.

It’s bullshit that BIDEN deported illegals for ONE year. It’s all about the election. The fact they have to deceive the voter to win elections speaks to the stupidity of the Voter. Not just here but Worldwide.
Doom and Gloom, I’ve always encouraged legal immigration all my life. I do not support it right now. Our nation has taken in entirely too many immigrants mostly illegal over the last 20 years. And the fact is we’ve been taking in the wrong kind of people over the last 20 years.
This is where Elwood starts calling me a racist but we do not need millions of blacks from Africa and Browns from South America and Central America. They do not add to the American economy with the American social construct. We need people who can be self supporting and to believe in being self supporting. We cannot and should not allow anyone coming in legally or whatever to receive any public assistance for five years. And I’m just using five years as a rule of thumb. As far as I’m concerned you can make it 25 years. But you gotta start somewhere.
If there are those highly touted by Democrat communists jobs that Americans don’t wanna do we can fill those positions by eliminating welfare. There’s absolutely no reason why this country needs generational welfare. Somebody’s on welfare they have to go pick lettuce six hours a day and then they get the welfare check. It’s not hard. And that’s where the low end jobs can be picked up.
But if we’re going to invite people into our country they should be the type of people that are assimilable, bring their own wealth or can produce their own wealth, are healthy and to reflect the vitality and optimism of American ingenuity and society. We don’t need a bunch of somalians and Asians on welfare. We certainly don’t need more latinX stoop sitting beer drinkers. Anything they can do can be accomplished by our teenagers. You know the kids who currently can’t find a job for the summer?
