SF Chronicle Says City Can No Longer Be Called Progressive After Law And Order Measures Passed

Yesterday I wrote in regards to the Politico article on the measures

One of the best parts, though, is that implementing law and order, reducing crime are considered a rightward and conservative shift. So, Democrat policy stands for crime and disorder?

Yes, yes they do

San Francisco ‘can no longer be called progressive city,’ newspaper declares after law-and-order measures pass

surprise surprise surpriseAn article in the San Francisco Chronicle declared the city “can no longer be called a progressive city” after the success of two law-and-order ballot measures on Tuesday.

Chronicle reporters Aldo Toledo and Joe Garofoli wrote that with the city voting “yes” on ballot measures that would require drug screenings for potential welfare recipients and increase police powers in the city, progressive policies appear to no longer be popular with residents.

The first of the two ballot measures, Proposition F, requires drug screening for people receiving public benefits and would force drug addicts to go into treatment if they want to continue receiving those benefits. The second, Proposition E, would give law enforcement better surveillance tools and rein in oversight over the force, allowing looser restrictions on car chases, for example.

The reporters added that, in addition to approving these measures, “voters also backed a slate of moderates to run the local Democratic County Central Committee, whose endorsements could reshape who is elected in San Francisco for years.”

So, yes, crime and disorder is what Progressives stand for, and residents of San Francisco have hit their breaking point with these wackos. I’m surprised it too them this long

The Chronicle noted how some progressives feel they aren’t too devastated by Tuesday’s results, noting that November’s election – where Breed faces challengers to her re-election – will be “a better barometer of San Francisco’s progressivism.”

It detailed how progressives need to “rally behind better solutions when it comes to the problems that voters care about most, like public safety, housing, homelessness and the drug crisis,” and provided examples of prominent progressives strategizing on how to get their messaging straight. The authors also observed, “one message progressives agree on is that they’re in danger.”

Messaging is cute, but, the residents, those who haven’t moved out of San Francisco, have seen the results of the actions for decades as crime skyrocketed, as car breakins and thefts were the norm, as businesses saw constant theft, as businesses closed down, particularly in the downtown area, as people refused to go to certain shopping areas, as homeless raged across the city, as poop, urine, and drug needles were all over. The big wigs who supported all the anti-law and pro-disorder policies tend to live in areas which do not see this and are wealthy enough that the police who haven’t left patrol their neighborhoods in force, and I bet that anyone who commits a crime against the wealthy are prosecuted.

Next up, I can see SF changing policies and allowing law enforcement to work with immigration officials like ICE.

I’m sorry to point this out to you teach what haven’t you learned anything yet? These wacko commie leftists in LA haven’t learned a thing and never will. It’s not politics with them it’s religion. It’s like trying to tell a Catholic that Jesus wasn’t God.

The businesses closed down and that’s just what they’ll do. That doesn’t bother the people. They’re not in business, they work for tech industry, or government, or some other non retail outlet where they don’t have to interact face to face with their customers. In other words they’re in ivory towers. And they shall remain in ivory towers until they die. They are the elite, there are people like H. Couldn’t care less about the average people, have absolutely no empathy and no compassion. He cares only about people who agree with him and can facilitate his political And financial power. and that’s the way the people of LA are. If it gets too bad for them they’ll simply move. And then they’ll go pollute another city and destroy it.

Leftists, especially the new Democrat breed are like losing locusts. They descend on an area suck all the life out of it and then move on. We see it in all our cities. The cities being most destroyed are the blue cities. Sure there are red cities in trouble but nowhere near the number or the financial amount as the blue cities.

Even the small cities in New Jersey have been destroyed by leftist Democrats mostly blacks or Spanish. Cities like Elizabeth, Trenton, Camden. All ruined. Another republican to be found within miles.

I’m stuck here in Camden I can’t afford to move. Where am I gonna go? I certainly can’t afford $3,000,000 to go into One Penn Center in Philadelphia. I can’t even afford to live in a nice area like Cherry Hill in a nice four bedroom home vacated by old Jews then moved out because there were too many blacks in the area. And Cherry Hill ain’t as pretty as it used to be either. There’s a bunch of “newcomers” moving in there.

There is no longer any room in America for Americans. And that’s exactly the way they wanted it to be. He forgot to mention Build Back Better didn’t include us.

It’s a shame about all those newcomers. Without them, there would be so much housing to go around that prices would need to come down.

D.C. just passes similar “harsher restrictions on crime”. They will follow that up with the same non-enforcement, lax enforcement, catch and release, and looking the other ways that they have become famous for ever since Obama got elected. Their “wakeup call” was their two pro sports teams leaving the city because it was too dangerous for fans to come into the city to watch them. Democrats in the Richmond government are putting a halt to financing options to open new stadiums in Virginia in an effort to force the teams back into Democratic party run D.C.

All of those laws just make things that were already illegal, more illegal.

L’Roy stop playing that black victim card!!!!
House prices are shooting up in Camden, with Redfin saying median sales price at 130000 bucks. Camden is being gentrified by ” newcomers” and whites.
Teach you must still be thinking of the Camden you knew before you left Jersey

The median value of a home in San Francisco is 1.2 million. That shows how people value living there.
The biggest reason that they moved out was that Virginia was able to offer them 1.3 billion in tax payer cash. Only 20% comes from seat ticket sales.

Sure, Johnny-about 53 businesses have left the central core of downtown in the last 3 years due to high crime, including Macy’s AT&T T, Banana Republic, Old Navy, Nordstrom, Express, Marshalls, Abercrombie&Fitch, ect…Another interesting statistic I saw was from 2011 to 2019, over 118,000 reports of human fecal matter were reported on city streets. There’s no doubt a ton more of that shit going on now…

An article in the San Francisco Chronicle declared the city “can no longer be called a progressive city”…

    No downside is noted.

It detailed how progressives need to “rally behind better solutions when it comes to the problems that voters care about most, like public safety, housing, homelessness and the drug crisis,”…

That would be great, if they HAD any better solutions. The current state of SFO argues that they don’t – assuming anyone needed reminding.

…and provided examples of prominent progressives strategizing on how to get their messaging straight.

Progressives are obsessed with “messaging”, as if just saying things the right way fixes the problem. People who believe in magic spells probably shouldn’t be in govenment…as the current state of SFO demonstrates.

  4. Dana says:

But what will actually happen? Probably nothing.

Pennsylvania enacted Act 40, which would have a special prosecutor for crimes committed on or near SEPTA property, to take that authority from the George Soros-sponsored, police-hating, softer-than-Charmin-on-crime District Attorney, Larry Krasner, and it was to be hoped to put more of the malefactors behind bars. Governor Josh Shapiro, a Democrat, signed it into law.

But, guess what? The Governor hasn’t actually appointed that special prosecutor, and there was a deadline for him to do so, which means Let ’em Loose Larry is still the prosecutor for the crimes on SEPTA property!
