Unshockingly, Climate (scam) Reporter Is Fine With All The Fossil Fueled Travel To COP28

There’s always an Excuse for high end climate cult members. Changed lives, mostly by government fiat, is only for Other People

Climate change reporter defends world leaders flying to Dubai: ‘Can’t do a Zoom call with 190 countries’

The senior climate reporter for Axios insisted on Sunday that world leaders must fly in rather than meet virtually in order to “move the needle” at the latest climate change summit.

The United Nations’ COP28 kicked off on Thursday with several prominent figures such as John Kerry, the president’s special climate envoy, flying to attend in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

While world leaders and climate advocates have frequently been called out for their hypocrisy in using carbon-emitting planes, often private, to attend these gatherings, climate reporter Andrew Freedman defended it as necessary.

“To all those complaining about world leaders flying to attend a mtg on climate change, you’re not saying anything original. Fact is, ya can’t do a zoom call with 190 countries, and face to face talks move the needle the most,” Freedman wrote on X.

Sure they could. But, then they couldn’t rub elbows with fellow leaders and all the unelected bureaucrats wouldn’t have a taxpayer funded working vacation as they attempt to control Other People’s lives.

I’ve pretty much been saying that since 2004. I love that more and more are recognizing that this is not about science. Heck, even if Mankind was mostly/solely at fault for a minor increase in global temperatures, why are almost all the solutions about government control and reducing liberty, freedom, and life choices while taking more and more money from citizens?

And, of course, Andrew Freedman wouldn’t get his working vacation in Dubai, so there’s that.

Even if one concedes his notion that this can’t be done by videoconference, and I do so only for the sale of argument, it could have been done somewhere in democratic Europe, where fewer people would have to fly to an oil producing nation far from almost everyone, and to which the leaders of a lot of nations could get on the train.

Not that any would have deigned to ride on the train with the riff-raff, mind you.

And, coming in just five more weeks, the World Economic Forum meets in ski resort Davos, Switzerland, yet another luxury spot where the hoitiest and the toitiest can take their mistresses for yet another fun vacation, all to say the same things over and over, and make more promises which will not be kept.

Why would you assume that there would be less mileage accrued if the conference was held in Europe as opposed to Dubai? The center of the worlds population is much closer to Dubai than Europe.
Yes Dana it is oh so true, our elites DO enjoy a lifestyle most can only dream about. But remember! They are out covered “job creators” so don’t think about increasing their taxes. Until the 80s u frr Reagan the US tax burden fell mainly on business, Reagan transfered it to individuals. When businesses were taxed at the end of the year they had a choice, reinvest it in their business or pay large taxes. They would choose reinvestment, in either human resources or infrastructure. Now the owners reap their profits and shelter their income in low tax scams
In the USA 15 of the top billionaires all contribute to the GOP. In Trump’s first 2cyesrs the GOP controlled Congress and the White House. The Uber rich got a 2 trillion dollar tax cut. Did that “trickle down” onto you?

  3. Jl says:

The “uber rich” didn’t get a 2 trillion dollar tax cut, Carbon boy. That figure includes all tax brackets plus the corporate tax cut, but nice try, again. “In the US 15 of the top billionaire all contribute to the GOP”. That’s funny-the other day you said 10 of the top 15 contribute to the GOP. Which is it, Carbon boy? Here you go-“In the USA 15 of the top supporters of Hamas all contribute to the Democrats…”
If all the people attending that climate conference are, like you, terrified of a CO2 molecule, then the simple solution would be to focus on Brandon’s buddies in China, who by far have the most emissions and are building hundreds of new coal plants-no private jet travel required. Instead these rocket scientists are focused on gluing themselves to streets and getting the rest of us to give up meat. Brilliant!

Another colossal waste of taxpayer money.
    Brandon don’t give a shit.

A significant number of Biden bureaucrats will be traveling across the globe on the taxpayer’s dime, all in an effort to advocate for these anti-fossil fuel initiatives,” Barrasso wrote in the letters. “They will, of course, utilize fossil fuels throughout their travels while ballooning their own carbon footprint.”

“Even though COP28 has established a dedicated virtual platform to foster online participation, federal climate crusaders will gleefully spend the hard-earned money of the American people on airfare, hotels, and fine dining as they participate in person,” he continued.

      Pups,
But this time, when they arrived, they were told by the organizer of the program that there was no science in climate change.
