Climate Cult Super Concerned Mike Johnson Doesn’t Believe In Climate Doom

If the NY Times is so concerned why are they not practicing what they preach and telling all fellow Warmists to do the same?

New House Speaker Champions Fossil Fuels and Dismisses Climate Concerns

Representative Mike Johnson of Louisiana, the newly elected House speaker, has questioned climate science, opposed clean energy and received more campaign contributions from oil and gas companies than from any other industry last year.

Even as other Republican lawmakers increasingly accept the overwhelming scientific consensus that human activity is dangerously heating the planet, the unanimous election of Mr. Johnson on Wednesday suggests that his views may not be out of step with the rest of his party.

Indeed, surveys show that climate science has been politicized in the United States to an extent not experienced in most other countries. A Pew Research Center survey released Tuesday found that a vast majority of Democrats polled — 85 percent — said that climate change is an extremely or very serious problem, while 47 percent of Republicans viewed climate change as not too serious or not a problem at all.

Regardless, Doing Something about the climate crisis (scam) doesn’t belong in the federal Congress. It is not something the Constitution granted them power over. If States want to do something, have at it. And, if these Democrats are so concerned, then why are they not giving up their own use of fossil fuels, to start? How many flights and fossil fueled SUV trips are the Congressional Dems taking on a constant basis?

Mr. Johnson, whose district includes Shreveport, a former oil town that has diversified over the past decade, was first elected to Congress in 2016. A former constitutional lawyer, he does not sit on committees that decide the fate of major energy issues.

But he has consistently voted against dozens of climate bills and amendments, opposing legislation that would require companies to disclose their risks from climate change and bills that would reduce leaks of methane, a potent greenhouse gas, from oil and gas wells. He has voted for measures that would cut funding to the Environmental Protection Agency.

At a town hall in 2017, Mr. Johnson said: “The climate is changing, but the question is, is it being caused by natural cycles over the span of the Earth’s history? Or is it changing because we drive S.U.V.s? I don’t believe in the latter. I don’t think that’s the primary driver.”

It isn’t. Hence why the “climate scientists” rarely attempt to provide proof of their assertions. They just expect you to Believe them.

After Representative Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, Democrat of New York, and Senator Ed Markey, Democrat of Massachusetts, unsuccessfully filed “Green New Deal” legislation in 2019 to aggressively cut emissions, move the country toward 100 percent renewable energy and address a host of social issues, Mr. Johnson hit back.

Then the chairman of the Republican Study Committee, Mr. Johnson issued a 13-page paper dubbing the climate plan “A Greedy New Steal.” He called the Democrats’ plan “a thinly veiled attempt to implement the policies that would usher in a new socialist society in America.”

He hit the nail on the head. Why do all the Democrat “solutions” involve more and more government control?

  1. Elwood P. Dowd says:

Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) has been described as Gym Jordan (R-OH) in “drag”. Nice suit, better haircut, stylish eyeglasses, gooder words.

Johnson is a MAGAt in the mold of Jordan. He just looks more rational.

Johnson is a 2020 election denier. He blamed Hugo Chavez, but later denied he said that.
    Supports a national abortion ban.
Believes CO2-global warming is a scam.
Received nearly $0.5 million from oil and gas industry.
Recommended the WH ignore subpoenas in 2019.
Claims teaching evolution causes mass shootings.

“People say, ‘How can a young person go into their schoolhouse and open fire on their classmates?’ Because we’ve taught a whole generation—a couple generations now—of Americans, that there’s no right or wrong, that it’s about survival of the fittest, and you evolve from the primordial slime.”

    Supports ending aid to Ukraine.
    Allowing homosexuality leads to pedophilia.

Proscriptions against sodomy have deep roots in religion, politics and law. States have always maintained the right to discourage the evils of sexual conduct outside marriage, and the state is right to discriminate between heterosexual and homosexual conduct since the latter cannot occur within the confines of marriage.

experts “project that homosexual marriage is the dark harbinger of chaos and sexual anarchy that could doom even the strongest republic”

Favors Christian prayer in public schools.
Refers to the “so-called separation of church and state”.
Cuts to “Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and interest on the debt” have to “happen yesterday” because they are an existential threat.

Our socialist from St Louis wrote that the incoming Speaker believes:

Then Mr Johnson believes the correct things!

Almost every society on earth of which we have any knowledge developed clear stigmas or outright prohibitions concerning homosexual activity, and the few which did not — ancient Greece being the most obvious example — eventually fell, because whether you believe it to be the law of God or simply the evolution of societies, homosexuality, and a wider sexual licentiousness, has a detrimental effect upon society. It breaks apart families, and leaves women and children frequently destitute; it brings down the birthrate.

We’ve seen the effects here, in a huge divorce and bastardy rate. We see it in an uncontrolled crime rate, in which half-feral teens, growing up without fathers, are now committing crimes of overwhelming stupidity, killing people over minor slights, real or imagined, of big city downtowns seeing merchant early closings or complete shutdowns due to crime, basically a breakdown of civilized behavior. Walgreens, Rite Aid, and CVS have all announced store closings, bringing worry of ‘pharmacy deserts,’ where the nearest pharmacy is ten or more miles away.

Do I need to, once again, point out the murder rate in Mr Dowd’s hometown?

If The New York Times are worried that:

    isn’t that a good thing?

  3. Professor Hale says:

The left fears that the gravy train will end. So many of them have amassed so much wealth from milking the treasury for a large number of their “causes”. Anyone who threatens that is feared.

  4. Jl says:

“Received more contributions from oil and gas companies than from any other industry…”
Being that he represents Louisiana, that’s a real head-scratcher…

  5. Mad Celt says:

I am concerned about Climate change. Especially when it rains on weekends. Congress should fix that.

  6. Elwood P. Dowd says:

Our Lecturer from Liberal Lexington is upset.

Blaming civil rights afforded to LGBTQ persons for murder rates, divorce rates, business closings, feral Black teens wilding, in fact, for most ills of American society, is simple bigotry. The same arguments have been made against rights for Black Americans and women as well. The divorce rate is at a long-time low. The abortion rate has dropped since the 70s. The homicide rate has dropped since the early 90s.

We fully understand that fundamentalist Christians believe their supreme being detests LGBTQ persons.

No doubt, fundamentalist societies control their peoples better than does a free society. Just look at the fundamentalist Islamic states such as Saudi Arabia and Iran. Should the US return to making any sexual contact outside marriage illegal?

And didn’t ancient Greek society last some 1500 years? America should be so lucky!! The nu-far-right claims America is on life-support after less than 250 years!! All because of Da Gays!!!

You might want to examine right-wing role models – all straight as far as we know – Newt Gingrich, Rush Limbaugh, Donald Trump, Jim Jordan, Steve Bannon, Dinesh D’Souza… Condemning adultery and divorce and dishonesty is so quaint!!

So America’s only hope to be Made Great Again is to become a fundamentalist Christian nation but run by a phony Christian??
