A record 69% of the public holds negative views about the economy both now and in the future, according to the latest CNBC All-America Economic Survey.

President Joe Biden’s approval rating fell by 2 percentage points to 39% and his disapproval rating rose by a point to 55% compared with the November survey.

And yet President Biden is more popular than Donald J Trump, who will surely lose in 2024 if the nuGOP is stupid enough to have him as their candidate. Repubicuns can win in 2024 IF and only IF they run someone else!

Of course it won’t matter if the reactionary House Repubicuns don’t raise the dept ceiling soon. The alternative is to greatly reduce gov’t spending, e.g., cut 2/3rds of Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and military personnel payments, leaving enough dollars to service the debt. That’s what conservatives want to do anyway!!

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer has revealed that there are not three but nine members of the Biden family that may have benefitted from suspected influence peddling efforts.
…Democratic members again insisted that there is no need to investigate such influence peddling.

    And then there were nine.

FOX and Dominion reached a settlement in the $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit.

WILMINGTON, Del. — Fox News and Dominion Voting Systems reached a settlement agreement Tuesday afternoon, narrowly heading off a trial shortly after the jury was seated.

“The parties have resolved their case,” Delaware Superior Court Judge Eric Davis said Tuesday afternoon, informing the jurors of the settlement. “That your service is done and I’m going to excuse you. Sorry about making you wait.”

Why would FOX settle? Wouldn’t they want to present their case and prove that Dominion cheated?

    • CarolAnn says:

That’s part of leftist strategy. The legal fees to win are in the millions so it’s easier to settle. You commies pull that shit all the time, so don’t act like it’s new. Ever heard the phrase “The process is the punishment”? Commies like you invented it.

      • Elwood P. Dowd says:

Defamation is difficult to prove and the suits nearly impossible to win. FOX knew they were going to lose because of the facts. Do you think their attorneys were going to cost them almost $800 million?

As you may know, the defense against defamation is truth. FOX admitted that their multibillion dollar “news” organization could not prove that Dominion cheated for Mr Biden.

An on-air admission of guilt or an apology was NOT part of the deal, so FOX needn’t worry about their viewers learning the truth.

Do you STILL believe that Trump won the election?

May the Peace of the Lord Christ be With You.

You’re an idiot and a liar. Let me know if you want the name of the law firm.

I didn’t confirm anything, including my address, or where I worked. All you had was a name.

Thanks for confirming what you did.

        • Elwood P. Dowd says:

I had never heard of the NPDB until now. I checked it and can see why you are upset that someone might be checking your history.

          About Us
          What is the NPDB?

The National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) is a web-based repository of reports containing information on medical malpractice payments and certain adverse actions related to health care practitioners, providers, and suppliers. Established by Congress in 1986, it is a workforce tool that prevents practitioners from moving state to state without disclosure or discovery of previous damaging performance.

Did any Trump loyalists violate the Hatch Act?

NEW YORK (AP) — At least 13 former Trump administration officials violated the law by intermingling campaigning with their official government duties, according to a new federal investigation.

      Chief of Staff Mark Meadows
      Sec of State Mike Pompeo
      Adviser Stephen Miller
      Adviser Jared Kushner
      Press Sec Kayleigh McEnany
      Adviser KellyAnne Conway (repeatedly)
      Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue
      Adviser Peter Navarro
      Ambassador Carla Sands
      HUD Official Lynne Patton

      Energy Sec Dan Brouillette
      Dep Press Sec Brian Morgenstern
      VPs Chief Marc Short

  8. Elwood P. Dowd says:

    Mr L’Roy,

Not exactly sure what you mean. The Hatch Act is intended to prevent gov’t employees from using their gov’t position for political campaigning.

As I pointed out, over a dozen of Mr Trump’s officials violated the Hatch act. Mr Trump’s Office of Special Counsel even recommended that Mr Trump fire KellyAnne Conway for violating the Hatch Act.

Ms. Conway’s violations, if left unpunished, would send a message to all federal employees that they need not abide by the Hatch Act’s restrictions. Her actions thus erode the principal foundation of our democratic system—the rule of law.”…the President has the authority to discipline Ms. Conway for violating the Hatch Act. Given that Ms. Conway is a repeat offender and has shown disregard for the law, OSC recommends that she be removed from federal service.

Said Mr Trump on ‘FOX and Friends’:

“No, I’m not going to fire her, I think she’s a tremendous person, tremendous spokesperson, she’s loyal, she’s a great person. They have tried to take away her speech and I think you’re entitled to free speech in the country.”

Just another example of Mr Trump ignoring U.S. law.

Another commenter pointed out that Biden HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra violated the Hatch Act (as pointed out by the OSC) by expressing his support for a Democratic candidate while in his official capacity as HHS Sec.

Secretary Becerra admitted his mistake and apologized, saying his remarks were an “inadvertent violation” and said he regrets them, and added that he “did not realize at the time that my off-the-cuff remarks” regarding his “personal voting intentions were in violation of the Hatch Act. I now understand why they were not permitted,” Becerra said, also saying he received “additional counseling” from the HHS ethics department on the Hatch Act. Becerra said he would “work hard to ensure that there are no future violations.”

Not sure what this minor kerfuffle has to do with Presidents Clinton or Obama.

Are you suggesting that the 1939 Hatch Act be ignored or repealed?

Two High School Cheerleaders Shot in Texas

Officers in Elgin, just northeast of Austin, responded to reports of gunfire outside an H-E-B shortly after midnight early Tuesday morning, police said in a statement. One girl was flown to the hospital and is in critical condition, and one was treated at the scene, police said.

A suspect, Pedro Tello Rodriguez Jr., 25, has been charged with deadly conduct, a third-degree felony.

Lynn Shearer, owner of Woodlands Elite Cheer Co., told KXAN in Austin that the cheerleaders were on their way home from practice when they stopped at H-E-B, where some had parked their cars.

If the girls had been armed as the 2nd Amendment encourages, they could have shot Pedro before he shot them.

It’s another case of distracted young people ringing the wrong doorbell, jiggling the wrong car door handle or turning into the wrong driveway running into a ‘patriot’.

    More guns, less killing!!
