“As Attorney General, I want to protect the people of St. Louis, and that includes protecting victims of crime and finding justice for them,” said Attorney General Andrew Bailey. “Instead of protecting victims, Circuit Attorney Gardner is creating them. My office will do everything in its power to restore order, and eliminate the chaos in St. Louis caused by Kim Gardner’s neglect of her office.”

And now the Attorney General from Mr Dowd’s home state is threatening to fire St Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner for being ridiculously soft-on-crime.

The latest outrage: Miss Gardner and her minions did nothing about a (short) career criminal, under house arrest while awaiting trial, with over 50 violations of his bond conditions, including at least 7 times just this month. He was once again out of the house, driving a vehicle recklessly, running a stop sign on Saturday, February 18th, causing an accident which resulted in a 16-year-old volleyball player to lose both of her legs.

With an ever 200 homicides last year, St Louis finished 2022 with a homicide rate of 68.19 per 100,000 residents.

Good. Gardner appears incompetent, and has for a long time.

Like many cities, St Louis needs investment in police and prosecutions.
