New Jersey Joins The Banning Sale Of Fossil Fueled Vehicles Racket

Considering the huge amount of commuting in NJ, not sure how well this will work

New Jersey to Ban New Gas Car Sales by 2035

The Garden State got a little bit greener Wednesday when New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy announced plans to shift to 100 percent clean energy by 2035. The state that still won’t let you pump your own gas will at least make sure you can charge your car from home using clean energy by 2035.

Gov. Murphy announce broad multiple accelerated energy initiatives during a speech at Rutgers University Wednesday afternoon. Through three executive orders, New Jersey will follow California’s lead and ban sales of new internal combustion engine cars by 2035. Not only will the cars be electric, but the power charging all those EVs will be from 100 percent renewable resources as well. From the Murphy Administration’s press release:

“These bold targets and carefully crafted initiatives signal our unequivocal commitment to swift and concrete climate action today,” said Governor Murphy. “We’ve turned our vision for a greener tomorrow into a responsible and actionable roadmap to guide us, and it’s through that pragmatic, evidence-based approach that we will ultimately arrive at our destination. Combined with our federal partnerships reinforced through the Inflation Reduction Act, these comprehensive initiatives will better protect and prepare every New Jersey community, including those on the front lines of climate change who have previously been left out and left behind.”

Interestingly, no reporter has asked, in any of the multiple articles I’ve read, when Murphy is going to stop traveling in fossil fueled vehicles and switch to an EV. No one is asking what happens with all the gas stations which provide fuels for all those who bought a fossil fueled vehicle prior to 2035 because they couldn’t afford an expensive EV. Again, I’m not against EVs, and by 2035 they will probably be ready for primetime, but, it’s not the government’s job to force this change.

Don’t forget, though, that the climate cult elites are already pushing to ban private ownership of all cars, including EVs.

It’s not just cars targeted for cleaning up in the next few years. Other initiatives announced include installing “…zero-carbon-emission heating and cooling systems in 400,000 homes and and 20,000 commercial properties by 2030,” as well as flood protection for folks living in coastal and riverine areas. New Jersey, as a coastal state, has experienced increasingly strong storms fueled by climate change. In September 2021, New Jersey was hit with its deadliest storm yet, Hurricane Ida, which killed 91 people over nine states, according to the Centers for Disease Control.

And those will skyrocket the cost of appliances, homes, and energy. In a state that’s already expensive.

As I consider the massive eight lanes each way junction around the toll booths of the Garden State Parkway with state route 440, I’m thinking that that wouldn’t be a good place to run out of battery charge.

  2. Dana says:

Then there’s the I-95/New Jersey Turnpike, three lanes each way for all traffic, plus two lanes separated with no trucks allowed; don’t want to run out of sparktricity there!

It’s (relatively) easy enough to bring someone five gallons of gasoline; can you bring five gallons of electricity to someone whose battery is dead?

All of these states are going to be red-faced when the time comes and they find out they can’t follow through on these idiot laws.

Either the disruption will too great because the infrastructure can’t handle the switch, or the citizens are going to drag all those legislators out of their homes and offices and burn them like witches for being so brain-dead and unresponsive to what people really want.

Frankly, it is none of government’s business what Americans choose to buy. They should not be trying to control the marketplace. THe track record of government is so poor that anyone who wants to put them in charge is delusional.

Next thing you know the centralized government will be telling kids what books to read!!

DeSantis had a teacher fired for showing a video of empty library shelves.

DeSantis had a teacher fired for showing a video of empty library shelves.

You communists always tell half the story. The bitch was fired because she emptied the shelves herself to create a propaganda video for the pro homo groups and to falsely accuse people of restricting all books which is a LIE.

But you commies love living the lie. 81 million votes my ass.
        Here’s some propaganda you’ll love.

Are you familiar with “jump starting” an ICE car with no sparkicity in it’s battery?
I imagine that doing so with an EV will be similar.
When I drove a Tesla Mod X (the one with the gullwing doors) from Seattle to Montauk NY 2 years ago, the screen constantly showed how many miles of charge remained. In addition, it provides an additional range after it has run down by going into imp” mode at greatly reduces speed for an additional 20 ? miles. So really almost impossible to run out completely . Unlike a gas car
Have you also seen any of the new EV transit mix trucks being sold in Europe?

    This is an outrage !!
It is worse when that socialist FDR tried to cram electricity (which later proved very dangerous to structures and people) down the throats of rural Americans with the infamous 1936 Rural Electrification Act. Forcing rural communities to take out loans to electrify and give up their fossil fueled oil lamps and coal stoves which had served them reliably a d safely for decades. They called electrification “progress” but really it was just forcing them to be under control of BIG GOVERNMENT globalist bankers. We have already lost the romantic “vhoo-choo-choo” sounds of our coal powered sounds of our coal powered train locomotives to electric locomotives, don’t allow them to take our “vrooomm” sounds from our American V8s. That is not progress it is the death of America

Carbon boy-have you come up with a scientific reason to force EVs on the public yet?
With the intimate relationship you seem to have with them (are you lonely?) it should be easy for you to answer.

We love you fanatics. It’s always your way because you’re perfect. Why not allow it all? We know, because YOU don’t like vroom.

The objective of the nuRight is make certain the transition from fossil fuels is as painful as possible to as many as possible.

Why? Because the nuRight is filled with hate and motivated by grievance.

    • Jl says:

J-what a bunch of BS. “The objective is to…”. The “objective is to force the libtards to come up with a reason why EVs are needed, and why they need to be forced on the populace. So gee, without those answers, of which there are none, isn’t it strange that people would fight back against some imaginary threat? J’s critical thinking skills are on fire today!

      • Elwood P. Dowd says:

        Jill,

What a bunch of BS. Only a few “fossilists”, aka “deniers”, mostly in the US, and almost all MAGAts, refuse to understand.

At least you finally admitted that the Earth is warming.

  7. UnkleC says:

As with anything government touches, the EV movement will suffer due to the fools that are placed in government in places like New Jersey. EV’s have a place in the transportation matrix, but are not the end all. Ending privately owned and operated transportation / mobility will not come to a good end, either. Your garden variety lefty nut-job has never driven across this country and doesn’t have a realistic idea of just how big and rural it actually is. This isn’t Europe. Not to mention the lack of an fully developed EV infrastructure or the sparktricity capacity to support it.

“Are you familiar with “jump starting” an ICE car with no sparkicity in it’s battery?
I imagine that doing so with an EV will be similar.”

    Uh, no.

After you jump start an ICE vehicle the car’s generator will charge the depleted battery while the vehicle can be driven. Even if the battery won’t take a charge the vehicle can be driven until the motor is shut down.

The EV will required a definite time period to be charged. During that time the EV vehicle must remain connected to whatever is charging its batteries.

    No charge for the education.

Until recently, jl denied that the Earth was even warming.

So then like I said you KNOW that Jl believes the earth is warming yet keep falsely repeating he does not. Why? Instead of welcoming him to your side you ridicule him and lie. That makes no sense. At least he’s open minded enough to change his mind when facts warrant it a trait you do not have. It also makes you look stupid arguing against yourself.

When will you admit the Covid vaccine isn’t a vaccine or men can’t menstruate?
