Local leaders claim human trafficking and prostitution are rampant in the Golden State after a new criminal justice reform that its author said aims to protect transgender women from being unfairly targeted by law enforcement.

Pimps in Oakland have reportedly stationed prostitutes outside a Catholic grade school, where parents said they walk their kids to school past women wearing next to nothing – or even naked.
“It’s every day, during all periods of the day,” mother Rosa Vargas told ABC 7. Vargas claimed that pimps have even followed Vargas down the street on a couple of occasions. Some of the prostitutes look very young and are likely underage, according to residents and local leaders.
And there’s a huge concern over many of the women being trafficked, but, the cops have their hands tied thanks to the law
Police departments and Republican leaders in the state are pinning blame for the overt prostitution on a new law that went into effect on Jan. 1. Senate Bill 357 repealed a previous law that banned loitering with the intent to engage in prostitution.
“California Democrats’ policy of legalizing crime is creating more victims by the hour,” GOP Assembly leader James Gallagher said in a statement.
“Under Democratic rule, families and businesses are moving out, while human traffickers are moving in,” Gallagher added. “It was clear from the get-go that this law would encourage and enable human trafficking, but that was apparently an acceptable result for the lawmakers who backed it.”
Per that ABC7 article above, it was introduced by State Sen. Scott Wiener because he felt that the law about going after those who had the “intent to engage in prostitution” was disproportionately targeting transgender women. So, to protect a tiny, tiny segment of the population, SB357 has now increased visible prostitution, put them in front of schools and children, made communities unsafe, and increase human trafficking. He and interest groups supported the repeal of the intent law, never really truly considering the effects, because that’s what Democrats do
But Los Angeles police sources who spoke to Fox News Digital said the law is “definitely” handcuffing them from cracking down on prostitution. The police said that because of the reform they can only make arrests if a suspect admits to prostitution, which they said is a rarity.
Don’t expect the loony tunes Democrats who run the government in full to do a damned thing. There will just be more people leaving the cities, at least those who can afford to.
Prostitution is a moral wrong, and men who patronize prostitutes are basically scum, enablers of pimps and drug dealers, but I have a problem with the idea that something which is perfectly legal to do if money doesn’t change hands can be illegal if it does.
I am all for letting a woman do what she wants to with her own body. Prostitution is not about freedom of choice. It is indistinguishable in most cases from human trafficking, slavery and exploitation of others. Sadly, it seems more embedded in some communities than others and men who will give long speeches about the evils of slavery 160 years ago will happily fork over money for a quick hit and not care at all about the circumstances of his service provider. Slavery is not capitalism. Human trafficking is not free enterprise. Child molestation is never Ok even though it is only a “moral evil”. Prostitution is a complex moral evil that destroys everyone it touches. The connection between transsexuals, transvestites, and prostitution is too strong to ignore. Advocates for LGBTQ acknowledge this when they press for lenient or non-existent anti-prostitution laws. They don’t want their own constituency being prosecuted or having their income curtailed. The Abortion lobby knows the strong connection between child molestation and their own trade and don’t want prosecuting the molesters to slow down their own trade, arguing “if molesters get prosecuted, girls won’t come to us and that forces them to have unwanted babies”. Who doesn’t want those babies? Pimps, that’s who. And finally the connection between recreational drugs and prostitution is unmistakable. Even the “servers” are not wholely innocent. As their personal situation degrades they often become part of the problem, enticing new girls (and boys) into the trade. In America, you are very likely to never need a gun for self defense if you can just do 2 things: live in a nice neighborhood, and don’t do drugs. Doing drugs brings you into contact with violent people who have a low moral threshold. The same is true for prostitution. Don’t hang out with criminals or go to the places where they are and you can live a long, safe, and contented life.
They’re just mad cause the prostitutes are competing with the politicians to see which can screw us more.

Prostitution whether legal or illegal will always be part of all societies and in both red and blue states. Women will sell their bodies. People will continue to leave red rural areas and move into blue cities. Teach will continue to decry the moral bankruptcy of blue cities and blue states, even as he chooses to live/work in one.
