Question of the Day: Should President Biden pardon Donald J. Trump for all his crimes related to the 2020 election?
Recall that President Gerald Ford received considerable criticism for his pardon of Richard M. Nixon for all his crimes against America.
Probably ought to wait for Trump to commit a crime first.
But politically, it would be a winner for Biden to do this. He can thereby accuse Trump of broad unspecified crimes without proving them and put the burden on Trump to reject the pardon. As far as i know, there is no appeals process for being pardoned even if for crimes you didn’t do. This would infuriate Trump’s base and only hurt Biden’s a small amount. Meanwhile Biden gets to play the “peacemaker” card during the election. Let’s face it, if Democrats would vote for a senile old white guy with a 30 year history of corruption and zero accomplishments in the first place, they would certainly vote for him again even if he were on literal life support.
Maybe Rimjob could point out the “crimes” committed by President Trump.
