Hot Take: Pro-Life Feminists Say It’s Not Time To Ditch Roe

Oh, look, the news found the one “pro-life” group that says Roe v Wade needs to stay

Self-described ‘pro-life feminist’: ‘We’re not ready to overturn Roe’

With the Supreme Court poised to overturn its 1973 landmark Roe v. Wade ruling that legalized abortion in the United States, an activist who describes herself as a “pro-life feminist” believes that the country is not ready for such a change.

“We’re not ready to overturn Roe,” Destiny Herndon-De La Rosa, founder of New Wave Feminists, an anti-abortion group that advocates support for mothers before and after birth, said in an interview with Yahoo News. “Legally, I understand it is a very, very big deal. But at the heart of the matter, is it going to actually help women choose life? I don’t know that it will. Because the systems that are currently in place are not set up to support women in the future. And that is a really, really scary thing.”

Herndon-De La Rosa, 38, said her organization believes that “human beings should be free from violence for the duration of their lifetime.”

“And that means we are womb-to-tomb pro-life,” she said. “A lot of times in the pro-life movement, it feels like it’s really focused on the politics of just restricting abortion, but in the mind of a terrified woman who is in a desperate situation, she doesn’t care what her congressman thinks about abortion. She doesn’t care what her senator thinks. She doesn’t even really care if it’s legal, because she feels absolutely trapped and terrified. And so the only antidote to that is actually making sure that we resource women well.

“It’s making sure that these systems [are] changed so that that woman’s life is not over with an unintended pregnancy,” she continued. “And that child is going to grow up and thrive, not just survive, because it is living below the poverty line with no access to education or health care or any of these other things that are vital for their development.”

Quite frankly, it is a small group, but, the Credentialed Media likes them because they claim to be pro-life but tend to stick with Democrats. They are very much into helping illegals and

There are also two large meeting spaces where we envision holding pregnancy & birthing classes, as well as post-abortion recovery groups, fertility awareness classes, and lactation talks.

If you’re working on post-abortion recovery groups, you aren’t pro-life.

Herndon-De La Rosa, a Texas native, said that she supported Democrat Beto O’Rourke for U.S. Senate in 2018 over incumbent Republican Sen. Ted Cruz because she thought O’Rourke was the more “pro-life” candidate, despite his support for abortion rights.

“He was the one talking about making a society that was more equitable for sustaining life,” she said. “And no group, any group — feminists, pro-lifers, Republicans, Democrats — they’re not monoliths.”

So, the group’s view of pro-life is very different from the greater pro-life group. Beto wants zero restrictions on abortion.

“My biggest fear is that if Roe is overturned, it simply goes back to the states. It’s not like abortion disappears,” she added. “We’re going to have a lot of states that have very strong restrictions and other states that have zero restrictions.

“Now is the time that you actually have to be engaged and get out there and help women because, unfortunately, there are going to be so many women who have had one option taken away and are incredibly desperate at this point.”

Contraception. The option you’re looking for is contraception. Oh, and teaching smart sex. Not people engaging in risky, unprotected, irresponsible sex. How many more “pro-life” Conservatives will they try and trot out who aren’t really conservative?

Anti-abortionists are pro-birth, not pro-life. In fact, wingers are pro-control.

Contraceptives used properly are not perfect. The best having a 1% failure rate. In practice, the failure rates are much higher.

Ban non-marital heterosexual vaginal penetrative sex.

    Ban boner pills.

    Ban testosterone supplementation.

Institute a nationwide collection of DNA information on all males 15 yrs and up. This allows linking “fathers” to the child the mother is forced to birth. The “father” is then obligated to financially support the pregnancy and the child for 18 years.

QdOwd: “Anti-abortionists are pro-birth, not pro-life. In fact, wingers are pro-control.”

And pro abortionists are pro death and obviously by their irrational reaction to a SCOTUS decision they are the pro control nuts.

As usual you dial up to eleventeen with all the crazy accusations and diatribes. All ya gotta do is vote on it. You do agree with our right to vote don’t ya? If, as you claim, 75% of EVERYBODY is pro death you will win ALL the elections and the WHITE, CHRISTIAN, CONSERVATIVES will continue to have babies while the blacks, leftists and democrat communists kill theirs. We can live with that. Kill off your voters all you want Dumbass!

FJB and the pro death cult of democrats.

      • Elwood P. Dowd says:

Here in Missouri women are voting with their feet. Or their wheels.

We’re involved with setting up on-call free transportation for Missouri women needing abortion services. Fortunately, the free state of Illinois next door is unlikely to ban abortion as Missouri will.

Also, a nationwide funding apparatus is being instituted for free airfare/travel for women in isolated Red States needing abortion services. Freedom!

But for now, all fifty states and DC have abortion facilities and abortion availability.

  2. Professor Hale says:

They get a pass. This group walks the walk of their convictions instead of just incessantly talking, fundraising and activism. Abortion harms a lot of people and this group serves those harmed.

  3. Elwood P. Dowd says:

Here’s a question for wingers who object to the Roe v. Wade protests:

Have you ever observed the obscene, spittle-spewing gauntlet women must traverse to enter a Planned Parenthood facility? Regardless of why they’re entering, even to obtain contraception, which wingers claim they support (they don’t).

Don’t wingers support the 1st Amendment?

    Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

There are over 1500 attacks per year on Planned Parenthood facilities. Trespassing, burglaries, assaults, arson, protesters following employees home from work, etc. And over 100,000 lesser acts of hate mail, threats, picketing, obstructing traffic…

Wingers are soft. Wingers are bullies. Wingers are soft bullies.

    • L.G.Brandon!, L.G.Brandon! says:

Qdowd is at it again. If there were 1500 “attacks” per year on PP it would be front page news DAILY. I guess you get your information from a pro PP site or PP itself because any semblance of truth is absent. It’s all partisan hype.

Meanwhile you quote the first amendment to us while your commie pro death protester actually break the law by intimidating federal justices. That’s specifically illegal dude. Protesting at a PP murder clinic is not nor should it be.

Finally, why would women go to a PP location for birth control especially if they had to traverse “the obscene, spittle-spewing gauntlet women must traverse to enter”? They can go to CVS and get no shit. Hell, they can get it in the mail. Free from several companies if the TV ads are to be believed.

Why do you need to lie and broadly state that “wingers” don’t support contraception? Why must you lie all the time. Can’t your argument stand on its own? (Hint: no it can’t). I don’t personally know any “wingers” that don’t use contraception so there goes your stupid argument. Even I had a vasectomy.

      • Elwood P. Dowd says:

        Lying Groooomer,

My apologies. I did not know you were married. You being “fixed” should be a comfort to us all.

Already, state level GOPhers are discussing limits on contraception.

Intrauterine devices (IUDs) are very effective but likely inhibit the implantation of a fertilized ovum into the hormonally prepared endometrium, effectively resulting in “prebirth infanticide”, resulting in a tiny baby being flushed down the toilet during the next menstruation.

Q: Should “abortifacient contraceptives”, such as IUDs, which work by causing “prebirth infanticide”, be banned? If not, why not? After all, a zygote is a blastocyst is an embryo is a fetus is a baby is a kid is a teen is an adult!!

        • L.G.Brandon!, L.G.Brandon! says:

Once again QdOwd starts with an outright lie if he’s calling me “Lying Groomer”. I can’t tell since he calls so many normal people so many filthy names I can’t keep track of what he calls me. However, I’m straight so I can’t be a groomer. And I have truth and morality on my side so what would it benefit me to lie?

The moron then continues: “My apologies. I did not know you were married. You being “fixed” should be a comfort to us all.”

I’m not married never said I was. Again you draw conclusions without facts like you do wit abortion, Covid, the climate, fags and the rest of your putrid political philosophy.

My being “fixed” as you so callously state is due to two, count them two, past abortions by females I impregnated. So as usual, you talk about a subject you view as political and you view it from the outside. I, OTOH have lived the angst, sadness and guilt of having been part of killing my own baby. Twice. Once at 17 and once at 25. Both times the girls in question assured me they “were on the pill” and both times they lied. Foolish female attempts at forcing me to marry them.

Also both times I was on board with the abortions to save myself the trouble of supporting the girls, the babies or both. And to retain my ability to remain single too. Both times I neither considered the well being of the girls nor the unborn babies. Yes, they were having babies. Not zygotes, or fetus’ or Hondas or bananas. Just human babies. And I was party to their deaths. Well, the girls actually murdered them but I did nothing to stop them in fact I encouraged them out of selfishness. The same reason they decided to kill them. We put ourselves ahead of our children. To you that’s a moral decision. To us it is not.

The first girl was 17 at the time and today she is dead. Committed suicide at the age of 27 or 8 by overdosing on heroine. Had been in and out of psychological treatment and drug rehab many times. Died alone in a trailer outside Orlando.

The second girl is now married and has 3 adopted kids since she is now unable to conceive. The end result of her abortion those 16 years ago. She tells me not a day goes by that she doesn’t feel guilty and powerless over her lost son. And she constantly prays for forgiveness. Fortunately her husband is a top notch guy and really loves her and takes care of their kids and her.

Perhaps you should know the back story and the reasons behind why other people think and feel the way they do. You closed mindedness and narcissism blinds you to the ability to empathize with those who disagree with you and everything with you is political from a personal matter like abortion to Covid to climate to calling men women and trying to force others to do the same.

I really didn’t want to relate this part of my personal life here but when you constantly comment like you know what’s going on and in reality you’re a fuckin uncaring moron I felt I had to.

Also, if you continue to call people groomers I’ll tell you a story about what happened to me at 7 years old that will curl your hair. Grooming is not a joke and doing that to kids is the height of depravity. In calling me a groomer you reveal the heartless hate and misery you wish to unleash on others. You are a bully. You’ve always been one here. If we were face to face you’d be toothless. You are lucky cause I’m not a 75 YO fart. I’m 42, 6’2″, 245 lbs and can carry a 350 lb. black lady out the third floor of a burning building.

But you are a sadist, a bully and a coward and that makes you the perfect candidate for communism or fascism. Perhaps that’s why you’re such a miserable bastard.

          • Elwood P. Dowd says:

            Lying Grooomer,

My apologies. I thought since you’re vasectomized that you were married.

There is no need for an unmarried christian to be sterilized since they cannot have sex except alone.

And I’m especially sorry if you were abused as a child. No one deserves that. Keep in mind that many abusers were abused as children. But for political opportunists like Ron duhSantis and Teach to use “OK, grooomer” as a campaign token is despicable. We have real problems without duhSantis pushing fake ones. Have you criticized duhSantis and Teach for calling teachers groomers? Why not?

It is sad that you impregnated two women and they felt the need to get abortions. You suggest that the abortions ruined their lives not considering what the pregnancy and single parenting at such a young age would have done to them. It sounds as if the girl who died from suicide could have used some real help. Have you thought about how your life would have been different being a father at 17 with the responsibility of raising a child. And again at 25??

You benefited from Roe v. Wade but now wish others to suffer.

Now you want to punish women for your past lack of responsibility and self control. You went along with it because you didn’t want to support the mothers or your spawn. One would think you would be MORE understanding rather than committed to forcing women to bear children for a mistake when they were 17. You blame the girls for your lack of self control and even accuse them of murder, of which you had a 50% stake. And now you wish to send girls to prison for what you counseled girls to do in your past! Do you agree that the male who knocks up women should share in the punishment?

But you have shown responsibility for recognizing your lack of self control and getting yourself sterilized.

We’ll cut you some slack when you cut others some slack.

  4. Dana says:

    The distinguished Mr Dowd claimed:

There are over 1500 attacks per year on Planned Parenthood facilities.

There are? Odd how I’ve missed all of the stories about abortion clinics being burned to the ground. Strange how I’ve missed the stories of clinic workers being mugged, murdered, raped or molested.

The strongly prebirth infanticide Guttmacher Institute reported that, in 2017, there were 808 abortion clinics operating in the United States. While that’s 808 too many, your number assumes roughly two attacks per clinic; why haven’t they all been burned to the ground?

Perhaps your statistics need a bit of firming up, and documentation.

    • Elwood P. Dowd says:

The distinguished Mx Dana typed about “prebirth infanticide”.

Of course there is no such thing as “prebirth infanticide” just as legal abortion is not the murder of a baby, child or person.

And as we described, illegal trespass, burglaries, assaults, breaking and entering, arson, vandalism are all counted.

The gods kill more zygotes and fetuses each year than does man. And while abortions by man decrease every year, the gods continue their own vile work.

Q: If a doctor performs an abortion at 10 weeks gestation in a state with a ban, what is the right and proper punishment for doctor and woman? They both have committed 1st degree murder in the eyes of the state. Anybody? Somebody?

Q: If a pregnant woman miscarries, what kind of investigation is required to make certain she didn’t “murder her baby”? Anybody? Somebody?

  5. L.G.Brandon!, L.G.Brandon! says:

Obviously QdOwd is incapable of understanding the pain, suffering and guilt felt by both men and women who have participated in what he calls “a woman’s choice”.

” You suggest that the abortions ruined their lives not considering what the pregnancy and single parenting at such a young age would have done to them. It sounds as if the girl who died from suicide could have used some real help. Have you thought about how your life would have been different being a father at 17 with the responsibility of raising a child. And again at 25??”

I did not suggest that abortions “ruined” their lives. I stated that the abortion of one added to her depression as she grew older. If you think the other girl’s life was ruined you’re wrong.
As I stated she went on to marry and raise a family of adopted kids she saved from the abortionists scalpel. Pregnancy and single parenting would have effected them as well but the two babies would be alive and I consider that a plus, don’t you?

QdOwd adds in his caring and empathetic way: ” You blame the girls for your lack of self control and even accuse them of murder, of which you had a 50% stake. And now you wish to send girls to prison for what you counseled girls to do in your past! Do you agree that the male who knocks up women should share in the punishment?”

No, I share the blame with the girls I don’t blame them and I didn’t have a lack of self control I used protection and they told me they were too. They lied and the babies died. I never said I “wish to send girls to prison” did I? Ever? Again you lie to make a false point you don’t need to make. You lied only for one reason: to hurt me because you know I feel guilty. You are as I said a bully. Deliberately hurting someone is very nasty and t sort of thig I/we imagine only cowards and bully’s and commies love to do. BTW, I didn’t “counsel” them to do anything I just didn’t stop them.

I will stipulate if a male knocks up a woman he should share the responsibility but if the woman decides to kill it that is on her alone. I had neither the lawful power to stop them or force them to abort. That was all on them. My guilt lies in that I didn’t try to stop them.

Thank you for the display of leftist compassion for all of us to see.

Let’s put it a different way. By his own admission, he knocked up two young girls and walked away and wants others to feel sorry for him. This man had his pleasures with these girls and walked away leaving them to deal with it. Which they did. This man didn’t have a lifetime of supporting two children and then accuses the girls of murder. Did he impregnate other girls?

Where in my admission did you derive that I walked away from my ‘playdates’ leaving two pregnant girls in my wake? I did no such thing. I stood by both of them and was willing to do whatever they decided. What I did do was push them toward abortion for my convenience. I admit that but had they decided to keep the children I would have and was prepared to help support them. I was ready to aide in the adoption if that was their determination. What I was not doing was marrying them.

Yes, I accompanied them for their abortions. I’m not an uncaring political thug* like you. Yes I paid for both abortions. I’m not a cheap bastard like you. And as a 17 year old girl she DIDN’T have a baby to care for either. Half the fun, half the pain, half the remorse, half the shame and half the guilt you uncaring, unfeeling slob of a human. The two girls did not take all the responsibility. We shared every sad step of the unfortunate events.

What both girls DID DO was lie. They both assured me they were on the pill and neither were. They knew my parents are rich and figured they’d cash in. I didn’t realize that then but the older one enlightened me years later. So in fact, lying about being on the pill creates a scenario where they were the responsible parties.

*You and your putrid ilk have turned a medical and moral issue into a political football even while murdering over 70 million Americans in abortion clinics seems never enough for you ghouls.
