Say, What’s It Like For Women In Afghanistan Now?

What’s the result of Biden’s disastrous pullout?

‘We must continue’: In Kabul, Afghans adjust to a new and uncertain fate

Joe Biden Ice Cream Afghanistan“Why are you travelling without a mahram?” the Taliban guard asks a young Afghan woman about her missing male escort.

She sits on her own in the back of a beat-up Kabul yellow taxi as it pulls up to the checkpoint marked, like all the others, by the white Taliban flag with black script.

What is allowed now in Kabul, and what is not?

The turbaned Talib, rifle slung over shoulder, tells her to call her husband. When she explains she doesn’t have a phone, he instructs another taxi driver to take her home to get her husband and bring them back. Once completed, all is resolved. (snip)

Some things don’t need saying. As soon as the Taliban swept, with surprising speed, into Kabul last month, Afghans knew what to do during Taliban rule 2.0. Men stopped shaving to allow beards to grow; women switched bright scarves to black ones and checked the length of their dresses and cloaks.

The length would be from head to toe, now. The BBC is soft-peddling it.

No one is quite sure yet what Taliban leaders mean when they say women and girls will be given “all their rights within Islam”.

Many women, including Rajaee, were told in no uncertain terms, “don’t come back to the office”. Many fear they’ll never be allowed to return to the life they lived in a city they no longer feel is their own.

“It is my right to be educated, to have a good job, to participate in society at a high level,” Rajaee tells us as she sits next to a pile of textbooks for her university degree, and her work heading a unit on gender and human rights awareness.

Yeah, well, that is all over now, the Taliban won’t put up with it. Just like before.

By freedoms, they mean abortion on demand, because I’m told Texas is just like the Taliban

Republicans in six states rush to mimic Texas anti-abortion law

Republican leaders in as many as six US states are rushing to follow the lead of Texas in adopting an extreme abortion ban that critics, including Joe Biden, have slammed as unconstitutional and built to encourage vigilantism among the public.

Abortion rights advocates are bracing to resist a flurry of initiatives from Florida to North Dakota in the wake of the new Texas law, the most extreme in the US, which the conservative majority on the supreme court refused to block. (snip)

Within a day of the law going into effect, six other states – North Dakota, Mississippi, Indiana, Florida, South Dakota and Arkansas – have said they are looking to adopt a similar ban, according to numerous reports.

See? Just like the Taliban! Oh, sure, women can still go to school and work, can still get degrees, can drive and be out without their husbands, can wear just about anything they want. But, they can’t get abortions after 6 weeks after being irresponsible with sexual encounters (yes, men need to take responsibility and precautions, too), which is even worse than being set on fire for bad cooking.

BTW, this is a great explanation of why the Supreme Court declined to take up the case.

Or raped. Allowing the law to go into effect means that most women can’t get a legal abortion in Texas. The law clearly creates an undue burden.

      How so, KiddieZ?

      Or raped.

This is always a fall back position of those who wish to kill children.

First, the number of pregnancies resulting from a rape is statistically small. However, even if one were to say that the pregnancy should be terminated, people on the left won’t say the all other children should not be aborted.

“Pregnancy from rape” is a distraction.

Secondly, shouldn’t we punish the rapist and not the innocent child?

We don’t execute rapists in this country but you think that the innocent child should be allowed to be executed?

It is amazing the hate the left has for children.

Then again, all the left has is hate.

      • Zachriel says:

gitarcarver: “Pregnancy from rape” is a distraction.

Then why wasn’t an exception included in the bill?

gitarcarver: shouldn’t we punish the rapist and not the innocent child?

So the state should force the woman to carry the rapist’s offspring to term?

        • Kye says:

The state should protect American lives. You want the state to allow the murder of babies. You’re another Mengele.

Putting the babies up for adoption is a better option than murdering them by the millions. One way is out of love, the other an evil act of hate. But all the left has is hate.

          • Zachriel says:

Kye: The state should protect American lives.

So the answer is “Yes.” You would use the power of the state to force women to have their rapist’s offspring.

        • gitarcarver says:

Then why wasn’t an exception included in the bill?

Because the people who protect the innocent aren’t using rape to kill those same innocents.

So the state should force the woman to carry the rapist’s offspring to term?

That’s a discussion that can be had. However, a rapist’s offspring is not the same as offspring conceived through consensual sex. You are making a false comparison which is easy to spot.

Secondly, are you saying that the life of the child has no meaning or value because of the circumstances under which it is conceived?

You have some magic ball to look into that says the child can’t grow to be a doctor, a teacher, etc.,?

You want to tell people that an innocent life has no value and so it must be killed?

That’s a tremendous amount of hate for children you have.

Then again, all the left has is hate.

          • Zachriel says:

gitarcarver: However, a rapist’s offspring is not the same as offspring conceived through consensual sex.

That’s right, and the Texas law made no exception.

gitarcarver: are you saying that the life of the child has no meaning or value because of the circumstances under which it is conceived?

We’re saying the power of the state has limits, especially when nearly all people, even those who profess otherwise, value a zygote less than a baby.

gitarcarver: You want to tell people that an innocent life has no value and so it must be killed?

No one said they had to be killed. Where did you get that idea?

      • Elwood P. Dowd says:

Mr gitarcarver seems in favor of forcing a girl to carry her rapist’s conceptus to term.

Rapists are punished when captured. His preference is to also punish an innocent girl, unless like most right-wingers he assumes she was “asking for it”. At six weeks it’s just as likely that god will “execute” the 2mm long “child” before a doctor.

It is amazing the hate the right has for women. To right-wingers women are property.

Then again, all the right has is hate.

        • gitarcarver says:

It is amazing the hate the right has for women.

How is it hate to say that the innocent life of a female child should not be extinguished?

Secondly, we have had this discussion before and you admitted that even if there was a provision that would allow for the killing of children of rape or incest, you would be for allowing the killing children under all circumstances.

Clearly it is you who hate children and women.

After all, all the left has is hate.

          • Elwood P. Dowd says:

But you are an anti-abortion extremist who thinks blocking the implantation of a cell mass is murder of a child. As pointed out before, you don’t believe your own propaganda.

If you really believed that 1st trimester abortion was the murder of a child you would be doing more than typing about it. You’d be standing in front of the clinic with your AR-15 preventing the murderers from entering! You would be willing to die to stop the executions of innocent children! So no, you don’t believe it.

You want to control when and with whom women have sex.

Clearly it is you who hate women.

After all, all the right has is hate.

William Teach: What’s the result of Biden’s disastrous pullout?

Nation Stunned That 20-Year Catastrophe Could End So Catastrophically: WASHINGTON—Expressing disbelief after an attack on evacuees at the Kabul airport killed Afghan civilians and U.S. troops fleeing a war zone, the nation was reportedly stunned Friday that a 20-year catastrophe could end so catastrophically.

“You could never imagine in a million years that a barbaric disaster could result in a barbaric disaster like this,” said Euclid, OH resident Peter Olean, echoing tens of millions of Americans who were baffled that a pointlessly violent quagmire from start to finish wasn’t going out on a high note.

“We’re watching several decades of chaos devolve into chaos right at the end—I mean, who could’ve seen that coming? Things had been going so poorly for 20 years, with so much needless loss of human life, but you never expect that the end would go so poorly and result in the needless loss of human life. It boggles the mind. Honestly, it makes you wonder if the evacuation and the last 20 years of brutal military incursion in Afghanistan should have happened at all.”

After hearing about Blackwater founder Erik Prince and others charging thousands of dollars to evacuate desperate people out of Afghanistan, the disgusted nation was reportedly floored to learn that a 20-year conflict engineered to make war profiteers rich could end with war profiteers getting rich.

Life for women in Afghanistsn will be like life for women in Saudi Arabia
You seemed always willing to overlook their lack of liberal social policies because of their fossil fuel production and recentvpro Israel policies

  4. Elwood P. Dowd says:

It sounds as if “America Firster” and tRumpist Teach now wants the US military to re-invade Afghanistan to protect the rights of women there.

Yet in Texas Teach wants to force raped girls to carry the rapist’s spawn to term.

  5. Professor hale says:

The afghan government had over 300k armed and trained soldiers and police. They did nothing to stop the Taliban. They have the government they deserve now. It’s not our problem to fix.

  6. david7134 says:

You can always tell ignorant people as they pick an aspect of a topic and cry and carry on about people being abused by a law yet have zero knowledge of what actually occurs. I am addressing the concerns about rape. There is a process for women who are victims of the aggressive actions of liberals and those they support. When a woman presents to the ER after a rape a protocol is followed. Part of the protocol is the receipt of several medications, one is what is known of as the morning after pill. Women are then followed by their gynecologist and appropriate measures taken before a fetal heart beat occurs. So, go look at yourself in the mirror and repeat over and over that you are excessively stupid. Especially Z the soy boy. Although beating Jeff in stupidity is tough.

As to the women who were left by Biden, they have had 20 years to secure a weapon and ammunition and learn how to handle aggressive Islam’s. Note that the idiots concerned about the women in Afghanistan are the same ones that support the rights of Islam’s to do what they like.

    • Elwood P. Dowd says:

Doogie supports post-rape use of medical abortion utilizing abortifacients such as Plan B “morning after” medicines. What he is describing is forced abortion following a reported rape. Is this true?

Mr gitarcarver would surely disagree with your position.

Did Doogie mean to type that medical professionals must OFFER emergency contraception? Some religious affiliated hospitals will not offer emergency contraception, considering it to be murder. In this case they must offer referrals so the raped girl can receive proper medical care.

What Doogie ignores is that most rapes are not reported to authorities or hospitals.

    • Zachriel says:

david7134: I am addressing the concerns about rape.

Most rapes are not reported, and rape trauma is a real thing. By the way, the morning after pill may stop the implantation of a fertilized egg. Is that murder?

      • david7134 says:

If you don’t report the crime, then have you been raped. Z, you are a child, you know exactly nothing.

        • Zachriel says:

david7134: If you don’t report the crime, then have you been raped.

If you’ve been raped, you’ve been raped whether or not you reported the crime.
