The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows that 46% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance. Fifty-two percent (52%) disapprove.
The polling, conducted by the progressive firm, Public Policy Polling, on behalf of Protect Our Care — a left-of-center health care advocacy group — finds that 45 percent of voters in Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin approve of Trump’s management of the crisis while 50 percent disapprove on average.

The daily briefings are hurting Trump. I will admit that they were cringe worthy to see him arguing with a communist press daily for an hour sometimes two. The Court of Claims does hear cases against state agencies and officials and is made up of judges from the Court of Appeals and is therefore considered a part of the Court of Appeals.
However, the Court of Appeals can and does hear appeals from the Court of Claims. As per the law:
Sec. 308. (1) The court of appeals has jurisdiction on appeals from the following orders and judgments, which are appealable as a matter of right:
(a) All final judgments from the circuit court, court of claims, and recorder’s court, except judgments on ordinance violations in the traffic and ordinance division of recorder’s court and final judgments and orders described in
subsections (2) and (3).

There are a couple of interesting things in the decision by Judge Christopher M. Murray.
First is that he states there is a violation of the Constitutional rights of people, but that the violations are only “temporary.”
Secondly, in many of the cases he cites to justify his decision, he goes way out of his the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals (where Michigan is located) and cites cases from the lower Courts in California and Texas. (9th and 5th Circuit.)
The real basis for the decision is that the Michigan legislature has delegated the ability of the governor to impose a quarantine. This case upheld the right of the governor to do that.
What the plaintiffs were arguing was not only whether the the governor had the legal right and ability to issue a quarantine order, but the depth, breadth and inconsistency of the order itself.
Murray ruled that was not in the scope of his Court, but would be within the scope of other, higher courts. In that Witmer has rolled back many of the “offensive” regulations that are at best random and at worst a violation of the 14th Amendment, the case may be moot on those points as well.
I suspect that when this is all over, the Michigan Legislature, as will many legislatures, will revisit the totalitarian authority of the executive branches.
