      Wrong ethnicity.

      Duh.

    • Dana says:

LOL! The left have been combitching since November 9, 2016, that Donald Trump is a fascist dictator, and then they get all upset when he doesn’t act like a fascist dictator!

      • Elwood P. Dowd says:

Au contraire. Trump is acting in his own best interest as any dictator would. He is calculating the impact of American deaths vs a recession on his electoral chances in November. He is consolidating power by surrounding himself with Trump loyalists, not American loyalists. No one doubts he’d declare martial law and postpone the election if needed for his own benefit.

Just about any American could function as President during gentler times, if surrounded by dedicated civil servants and genuine American patriots.

Now Americans are cowering in their homes rationing their toilet paper and attempting to reach each state’s unemployment office to get enough money to survive a couple of months.

Today, America needs a leader but instead has a game show host.

Prior to this month, the worst week came on September 18, 1982 (Reagan/Volcker Recession), when 680,000 people claimed unemployment. The week ending March 28, 2009 (Great Recession) came close to topping that record, with 665,000 new claims.

The week ending March 21, 2020: 3,283,000 new claims. That’s nearly 3.3 million new people out of work.

Then, a week later: 6.648 million new claims for the week ending March 28.

In America. We don’t even have enough throat swabs for testing, enough test kits and personnel, enough masks, shields, gowns for health care professionals, enough ventilators for patients.

One can’t say whether a real president with a competent staff would have made a difference, but it’s likely they would have.

Now we’ll all see how they handle phase II of this pandemic – a global recession/depression.

  2. Liljeffyatemypuppy says:

    More on Il Duce II:

Cuomo says 2/3rd’s of those hospitalized have been discharged. That takes some pressure off the hospital beds, masks, gowns, gloves and ventilator situation that the Press has been hyperventilating over the last month.

NY at first was preparing for 140,000 beds and downsized that to 50,000 and so far has peaked at 16,000. They had 30,000 beds prior to the Feds adding 10,000 beds in less than 2 weeks (Anyone critical of Fed response needs to STFU).

They have to realize that there’s a balance between being over prepared and putting a strain on the rest of the country at risk from sucking up all the resources

To summarize NY was under prepared and over reacted. Anyone that can’t admit those facts has no credibility and cannot be trusted.

That includes most of the Media.

NY has 85k volunteers including 22k out of state. That’s 5 for every hospitalized Covid19 patient.

NY ordered 17k ventilators. Fed stockpile was 10k. They were estimating 2 weeks ago needing 200k.

He hasn’t said yet how many they are currently using.

He says we have to figure out “why we are depending on China” bullshit we need to become independent on medical equipment just like we became energy independent.

Except, or course, neither Mayor deBlasio nor any other Democrat would support ‘drafting’ doctors and medical personnel if that meant pulling them away from abortion clinics.

And France is not enforcing lockdown in the Muslim no-go zones? Is there a downside to this?

  6. formwiz says:

OK, kids, It’s official. You’re being scammed.

1/ As you sit home watching #COVID death counts spiral, please know the official @CDCgov guidance for coding COVID-related deaths is as follows: any death where the disease “caused or is *assumed* to have caused or *contributed to* death.” Confirmed lab tests are not required… pic.twitter.com/H4D6mcti3R— Alex Berenson (@AlexBerenson) April 3, 2020

CDC wants any death where the Peking Pox Panic “caused or is assumed to have caused or contributed to death.

IOW They’re trying to jack up the body count.

  7. Elwood P. Dowd says:

Hatred is the glue that holds nuCons together. You always need a target. Blacks, gays, Muslims, communists, Jews, the media, the Fed gov’t, Chinese, FBI, Hispanics, scientists, Intelligence agencies, never-Trumpers… At any time the intensity of your attacks toward a particular target may change. Today it’s the Chinese. A demagogue helps “followers” like the bulk of nuCons focus their ire. Early on, tRump took aim at Hispanic immigrants stealing jobs from failing middle class whites.

Anti-science, white nationalist, Christian nationalist, big government (but only for them)

Thankfully, nuCons are a minority in America.

I don’t blame you for all that flop sweat. All your pet constituencies are falling away because you betrayed them and the evidence is out for all to see.

So have your little rants. Broadcast your propaganda. It will do you no good. You’re stuck with Gropin’ Joe.

    Speaks for itself.

PS Both Brazil and Sweden kept their economies open. Brazil has a lower death rate than we do. Sverige’s is slightly higher.

Get the country back to work.

    • Elwood P. Dowd says:

      And where do you work?

    • Elwood P. Dowd says:

Will you be going out to work tomorrow?

      • formwiz says:

        We know you won’t.

        • Elwood P. Dowd says:

We work from home – even today. Will you be going out to work tomorrow, or do you prefer the little people go back to work to pay for your Social Security and Medicare?

        • Elwood P. Dowd says:

You hide in your home imploring others to go to work to save the economy because you’re scared. Got it.

You’re much like Teach, urging others to fight wars he supports but doesn’t want to enlist or pay taxes to support the excursions.

          • formwiz says:

You mean those long screeds written by other conservative commenters here who humiliate you?

No wonder you always change the subject

We pay more in taxes each year than you make. Fortunately for deadbeat takers like you, we’ll continue to pay taxes throughout, that tRump and his evil spawn will try to pocket. You’re welcome.

    • FunnyThat says:

You know formwiz that Sweeden is right now being decimated by the Virus? They are not open and have closed down completely after trying to weather this. Just like the UK tried to weather this and Boris Johnson finally shut down the country.

I understand that some people have a hard time realizing this could be the end. We are taught this in the school of denial. But it might well be. We will survive the first wave. Perhaps even the second wave, but if it keeps mutating eventually their will be no more waves because their will be no more infrastructure to deal with it.

Remember Sars-Cov 1 hit back in 2002-2003 and we still do not have a vaccine. Mers hit in 2012 and the same. Ebola actually was stopped with a vaccine because it began presenting itself in the west and people were horrified at 50 percent death rates.

What your failing to take into consideration in regards to this virus is that it leaves your lungs scarred resulting in copd after you recover if you get pnemonia and there are about 25 percent that get pnemonia with this. But and this is important. Only about 14 percent of the people are currently receiving hospital care. But your above statistics tell a different story. Not everyone is going to the hospital and those with Pnemonia are going home and told only to come back if it is life threatening.

Yes people survive. Probably 98 percent right now. It will drop to 90 percent and then 80 percent as drugs run out, as the planet is decimated. Then the second wave of a mutated strand will hit and a third and with it the last hope for mankind for a long time. Man kind will survive because there will be a form of herd immunity even to mutating forms of this virus.

I think you are giving bad advice. We have to take readings and decide if 30 mg/ml is appropriate to send people home or admit them. We intubate people with the understanding that the average time is 2-3 days. A Non cornoavirus case presenting with pnemonia is on an intubator for 2-3 days before even recovering or dying. A Virus case is on a ventilator for 3-5 days before recovering or dying. The non virus cases are usually about 87 percent survival with no following complications. Those with the virus stand about a 50/50 chance of surviving and even a less chance of emerging without Fibrosis of the lungs.

Yes secondary morbidity plays an important role in becoming extremely sick. Obesity is one of the primary drivers of this. Obesity in the USA is a very prevalent problem. Smoking is another which is why the Asian countries have been hit the hardest. Well over 50 percent of their populations smoke. Diabetes, Cholesterol are other factors both of which create inflamation in the body.

We normally treat regular non virus pnemonia with steroids but in this particular case steroids without ARDS present actually makes the pnemonia worse in most patients. ARDS is the subsequent bacterial infection that occurs in the lungs creating fluid build up. This almost always presents itself with Sepsis and shock. It is why it is recommended that most patients are put in the prone position for 12-16 hours per day.

Prone position is on your belly which takes the weight off the lungs from the heart and it causes the fluid in the lungs to stop pooling and move to the opposite side of the chest cavity.

One of the things told to patient who are sent home is to find a cpap machine from a relative and to use that non stop while they recover at home. The cpap machine is almost as effective as a ventilator in creating positive air flow in the lungs with fluid build up. But again let me stress that this does not take the place of a ventilator. It is simply an aid for recovering at home patients who present with pnemonia but not the serious complications of ARDS, Sepsis and shock.

I can almost guarantee you that the facts you are spouting are cherry picked and have no basis in reality and as we all know. Everyone on the internet is an expert.

Spoken in kindness. Not with malice. I am tired. I wish all of you well.

You said Sweeden was open. It is not. I just looked it up. They are closed and being ravaged by their stupidity.

          Brazil?brazilian.report/coronavirus-brazil-live-blog

April 1 recorded the second-highest number of daily infections since the coronavirus reached Brazil, with 1,119 new cases (just 19 fewer than yesterday). The virus’ lethality rate in Brazil sits at 3.5 percent — but the number is probably inaccurate, as Brazil has massively underreported infections.

Did you know Mexico is telling their people to eat drink and be merry? they are not even testing.

Guess where they are coming formwiz? When they get sick and the Mexicans cant take care of them. Guess where they are coming when the world for them is ending. Guess who will not be working on our borders as they get sicker and sicker because we are not guarding our borders because all hands will be needed treating the sick.

Guess what formwiz. The only sockpuppet here is you. Spouting stupidity and false claims that are not true. Liars are liars. Sweeden is closed down. Brazil is teetering on collapse.

In ecuador they are burning bodies in the street.

Yeah this is nothing. Formwiz should lead the charge. Charge into the emergency rooms and throw out all those slackers who are on ventilators.
