Trump Signs Three Week Continuing Resolution, Vows Either To Get Money Or Do It On His Own

Democrats should think hard about calling this a cave, and running up their refusal to negotiate talking points. If they haven’t been watching Trump since he started running for President, they should know that Trump won’t give up, he won’t stop, he’ll keep pushing, and attacking him on it will make him dig in further and find a way to stick it in their faces

Trump signs bill to end partial government shutdown

President Trump on Friday signed a short-term spending bill to re-open the government, ending the longest partial federal government shutdown in U.S. history. Trump signed the stop-gap spending bill just hours after the measure passed the Senate and House, respectively.

“On Friday, Jan. 25, 2019, the president signed into law: H.J. Res. 28, the ‘Further Additional Continuing Appropriations Act, 2019,’ which includes a short-term continuing resolution that provides fiscal year 2019 appropriations through Feb. 15, 2019, for continuing projects and activities of the Federal Government included in the remaining seven appropriations bills,” the White House said in a statement late Friday. “Also included in the enrolled bill are provisions regarding retroactive pay and reimbursement, and extensions of certain authorities.”

Despite an end to the 35-day partial government shutdown, Trump on Friday night felt the need to defend the move, insisting that he had not caved on his sought-after funding for border security.

The deal for a short-term spending bill, which would keep the government open until Feb. 15, was agreed on to help those affected by the partial shutdown, the president said in a tweet.

“I wish people would read or listen to my words on the Border Wall,” Trump tweeted. “This was in no way a concession. It was taking care of millions of people who were getting badly hurt by the Shutdown with the understanding that in 21 days, if no deal is done, it’s off to the races!” (snip)

During his announcement, Trump made reference to his previous threats to declare a national emergency to secure the border, calling it a “very powerful weapon,” and noted that if no deal was reached to fund border security and construction of a wall before Feb. 15, he would use his presidential powers to declare an emergency.

“Walls should not be controversial,” he said. “As commander-in-chief, my highest priority is the defense of our great country.”

In other words, he will either get his money or do something like declare a national emergency. Don’t make the mistake of thinking he doesn’t have a plan.

And part of that plan is exposing Democrats as people who are unserious about securing the border. They’ve all been saying that they would negotiate once government was reopened. Yet

We’ll wait and see if something happens over the next three weeks. If Democrats won’t negotiate money for a border barrier, they will surely be shocked at what Team Trump does, you can count on that. And don’t think that Trump won’t find a way to scapegoat Pelosi, Schumer, and the Democrats and get the national media to cover it.

Trump did the right thing (although the shutdown was unnecessary in the first place). He will likely be forced to accept border security without his “big, beautiful wall” or declare a national emergency to bypass Congress and transfer funds from legislatively approved uses to his cronies wall builders.

We understand the desire of his supporters to think that Trump is playing some game of strategic 4-dimensional chess that simple humans can’t understand. We’ll see.

    @AnnCoulter

Good news for George Herbert Walker Bush: As of today, he is no longer the biggest wimp ever to serve as President of the United States.

    Mike Cernovich
    @Cernovich

We are now taking calls to talk about the Commander-in-Soy’s blabbering “speech” today

    Senator Lindsey Graham:

“If he gives in now, that’s the end of 2019, in terms of him being an effective president. That’s probably the end of his presidency.”

There should have never been a shutdown. It served no purpose and harmed hundreds of thousands of Americans. It’s unlikely Trump would shut down the government again in three weeks.

Jeffery taitai is just pushing the party line.

Twice the Demos killed bills to pay Fed workers. They own it. They could have ended it.

In the world of 83 dimension stealth ninja virtual chess, that makes Pelosi Galore and Chuckie look real bad. Hoyer and Clyburn have already admitted some sort of physical barrier is needed.

Since our castrata insists on quoting Ann Coulter, whose opinion only matters to Lefties, and Cernovich is probably referring to calls from Libertarians, NeverTrumpers, trolls, and weak sisters, there leaves only Graham, who speaks in the conditional. Idiot Girl needs to read these things before copying them.

      Jeff,
I am afraid the Dems own this and the com o my second shut down. It is pathetic that they can’t be mature in an effort for security.

  2. Jacob Noire says:

The undercurrent is that Trump’s base WANTS him to dismantle the federal government, but he failed – this attempt.

  3. Liljeffyatemypuppy says:

Trump has removed every Democrat excuse for not negotiating.

So if they refuse to negotiate or compromise now, they will be exposed to everyone as the open borders frauds that we know they are.

Will be something to watch during the SOTU when Trump points out and asks all of the family members who’ve had loved ones slain by illegal immigrants to stand. Then zooming in on the reaction of Pelosi squirming over his shoulder behind him. https://www.thepiratescove.us/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_cool.gif

  4. Jacob Noire says:

The Dems are already on board with more funds for actual border security, fencing where needed, drones, drug interdiction, more agents, more judges… they’ve offered up more than Trump’s $5.7 billion ask – just not a wasteful, ineffective Wall.

The negotiations will be for Trump to save face – Speaker Pelosi may have no interest in helping him politically. When Trump shrieks OPEN BORDERS, the speaker can reply $25 billion for fences where needed, more agents, more judges, more surveillance/inspectors at ports of entry… just no Wall.

The Dem response to the Trump Show can be images of children in cages crying for their moms, toddlers being tear gassed…

    • david7134 says:

      Jeff,
The nut job Pelosi is pushing for robotic dogs. Technology is already present at the border but the professionals on the ground do not feel it is enough. Oh, you had another stupid comment about people tired of Trump. That is correct. He said we would get tired of the winning. Trump has done more for this country than anyone I can find in memory.

      • david7134 says:

        Jeff,
As usual, you are wrong. We have an extensive wall system on our southern border. But there is a concern in certain areas not presently covered. A significant number of people come through these areas as well as drugs. Many people have died as a consequence of the remote nature of the open border. The border patrol has requested this addition to our security. Now Trump ran on an issue of very tight border security. In winning by the significant majority, the American people have indicated their priority.

I can not understand why liberals desire less security. Mexicans and others are taking jobs from those in our society that need job security, yet people like you are not concerned with the needs of the poor and middle class.

Now everyone here understands these concepts, which clearly shows our superiority to you and yours. So why do you constantly show your butt as we used to say?

        • Jacob Noire says:

In winning by the significant majority, the American people have indicated their priority.

More Americans voted for Trump’s opponent. The 2018 midterm elections were a repudiation of Trumpism.

You conflate border security with Trump’s Wall. They’re not the same, superior man.

          • david7134 says:

            Jeff,
Again you show your stupidity. Read up on our elections, Trump won a resounding victory. It has now been shown that Hillary did indeed cheat

          • formwiz says:

7 million votes for the Beast were fraudulent, so Trump took the popular vote. And the midterms were something of a draw. The Demos rushed for House seats vacated by NeverTrumpers and used fraudulent means to get them.

OTOH Trump increased his party’s number in the Senate. No President since Roosevelt has done that.

As always, Jeffery avivaahit takes the mob rule side and ignores we have a Constitution that dictates who wins the Presidency.

Twenty seven military garbed federal agents with actual full auto assault weapons, high capacity magazines, body armor, grenades and night vision crashing into the home of an unarmed 67(?) year old guys with a deaf wife to arrest him by order of an unaccountable special council on unspecified charges of procedural improprieties. A real hot and dangerous felon with big, big charges.

This is exactly the way the radical left sees anyone who disagrees. This is our future unless we can somehow keep our guns and freedom from the leftists. This could be hell. Win or lose.

    • Mangoldielocks says:

The MSM and Trump himself led Americans to believe that he was going to build the great wall of China. With a highway running along the top, guard towers and men with machineguns standing in those towers mowing down Illegals.

In 2013 the democratic senators voted 46-0 to build 300 miles of border wall. The house DEMS voted to build the same 300 miles of wall. Even HRC was running on A WALL in 2016. Then trump started to tout the wall and suddenly orange man bad, wall must be bad. Must be as in the RESISTANCE says ANYTHING TRUMP DOES IS BAD.

I get it. The GOP did the same thing to Obama which led him to executive action and the ordering of his agencies to do his agenda without congress.

Now what I fear is that trump will actually declare a national emergency and build a little bit of wall. In return the next democratic president will declare that climate change is a national emergency and divert funds to combat global warming or declare pick up trucks can no longer be made or some such nonsense. Hell they might even declare the border wall is Evil and order his corps of engineers to tear it down.

Harry Reid opened up the flood gates to stupid by having the nuke option. Mitch McConnell could have done the same thing with border wall funding before the house was put in the Dems hands and the GOP could have passed a 25 billion fund it all program that could not be cut except by 67 votes in the senate. etc. That would have been a horrible thing for the future of this country.

The next Democratic government could have passed anything they wanted. A trillion dollar tax increase to fund the UN Fascist organization intent upon seizing world wide power under the guise of UNELECTED BUT NOMINATED ELITISTS control.

The point is declaring an emergency should be an option for the president that is not politically driven. Katrina, wild fires, hurricanes, tornados, etc. Not building a political football on the border.

Of course the wall is security. 77 countries understand it.

The Demos don’t want it. Jeffery patni just tries to lie his way out of it.

  11. Kye says:

I must admit, Jacob Noire I did not poll 1000 people (I don’t think I know 1000 people) I just polled the folks I know around town, church an such. Again admittedly this is no where near a “scientific poll” but sadly Jacob because of the propensity of the leftist news and media sites to lie, create fake news, omit news and their general mendacity no one right of Pelosi believes their news or their polls. I’m sorry to say that Jacob because I really want to trust the media like I did years ago before Rathergate, the Ted Kennedy cover up, the complete failure to vet Obama and all the shenanigans that have gone on.

See, that’s where having almost the entire academic, news and media in bed with the Democrats all theses year has brought us. We can’t trust the news to be fair and if not “impartial” at least own up to their partisanship and not treat us like we’re stupid. We know they think we are but we really aren’t. And just because I don’t agree with Don Lemon doesn’t make me immoral, racist, evil or stupid. We just disagree but if you’re willing to talk to me as an equal and respect me as a human being without name calling or condescension we can talk. But if they think wearing a MAGA hat in support of our president is insulting but it’s okay to wear a pink pussy hat and scream at people in restaurants then sooner or later we’ll be in a shootin’ war.

    Just an opinion.

No, it’s a lie. 7& million votes by illegals, corpses, out-of-staters, people voting more than once, and flipped votes do not count. And “taking the House” with vote fraud (lots of cases) and “vote harvesting” does not put him any less in charge.

Favorability, especially in a Politico poll, does not affect his legitimacy and he not only held the Senate, he increased the Rs’ hold by 4. Something unseen since Roosevelt.

People, like it or not, want the wall and they like Trump.

Like the Demos, a menina Jeffery can’t win without fraud.

        • Jacob Noire says:

          dane,

And in 2020 the Dems will have the House, Senate and WH.

It was a given the house would change

It took Dem voters voting out Repubs.

          • formwiz says:

Actually, it wasn’t a given the House would shift, considering Trump added 4 more R Senators.

It took 45 NeverTrumper Congressmen quitting out of spite and the Demos stepped in with their usual vote fraud.

Senora Jeffery can spread all the FUD he wants; even with 7 million fraudulent votes, the Beast couldn’t win and, in FL and TX, blacks and Mexicans kept Cruz in the Senate and put Rick Scott there. As with everything else, Mme Jeffery can’t tell a straight story.

The economy is roaring, we’ll have the wall, Red China is folding, we’re out of Syria, and the Norks are making nice.

Your right the GOP should just capitulate to the inevitable demise of our country to a massive swarm of ignorant peoples who will vote democratic and keep the communists in power until such time as the nation will no longer adhere to the constitution. A document already under fire by the left relentlessly because they don’t like what it says.

The right has capitulated. They have let the left control the MSM, the schools, universities and communications including the internet. There is nothing left for the Right to do. We are in the death throes. The nation as a whole will cease to exist in 10-20 years because of the communist left who has relentlessly destroyed this country from within.

The sad fact is once the country demises and the fascists take full charge and replace the constitution with a new constitution granting power to the left it will be too late.

The die is cast. The world is on the brink of world wide anarchy. Including the United States. Within a few years this country will break up. The left believes they can win a war with the conservative states but what they don’t understand is that yes they might win a war at the expense of a totally destroyed nation and a 100,000,000 people dead.

And for what? A bunch of MS-13 gang members and a flood of drugs to keep themselves in power.

Kudos to the left. You have won! We surrender until we don’t.

    • Jacob Noire says:

The point was to correct the lie that Donald Trump received a majority of votes, or that his EC victory in 2016 immunized him from losing popularity with time (as has obviously happened).

The majority of Americans do not support The Wall. The standard reply for the right is that pollsters are faking data.

  14. formwiz says:

The point was to legitimatize the vote fraud the Democrats need to win. Trump did receive the majority of legal votes and Trump’s popularity has been on the increase.

Fake News polls, like Fake News, notwithstanding, and all you have to do is look at the crosstabs. Americans want the wall because a filha Jeffery doesn’t and there is no evidence, other than the Left’s say-so that they don’t.

  15. Kye says:

The standard reply for the right is that pollsters are faking data.

That’s because as we all know including you that the pollsters have been data mining and manipulating polls for decades. We;re just now wise to them and saying so. They lie! They skew the results. They select the respondents according to the answers they want and they hide results that don’t support their narrative. It’s not new Jacob, it’s just now out in the open. If the Republican Party controlled academia, the journalism schools, the print media, the international wire services the polling companies and the broadcast media would you believe their polls?

  16. Jacob Noire says:

What if the Dems propose a $25 billion bill covering expanded fencing, more agents, more immigration judges, a fix for DACA, better inspections at ports of entry (seaports, border highways, airports) etc, but no Trump Wall – how will it make Trump look if he refuses?

    • Kye says:

When you say “What if…” are you suggesting they have, they will or they might? But I would say being a negotiator if the Dems made such an offer Trump should take it IF they also agree to national voter ID and the end of birthright citizenship. That’s negotiating. You usually don’t get everything you want. At this point we need to dry up those coming in and concentrate of throwing the ones already here out. It’s a start.

In the last election 58,000 illegals voted in Texas alone. There were cities in California where there were more voters than adults living in the city. I think LA had a 112% voting rate. That’s fraud plain and simple.

  17. Jacob Noire says:

The US is unlikely to repeal the 14th Amendment. (Birthright citizenship).

The Dems will never accede to throwing out the 11 million undocumented. The American people don’t favor that either.

I think LA had a 112% voting rate. That’s fraud plain and simple.

Precincts can have more registered voters than their population, due to deaths and moving. That’s not the voting rate, nor is it evidence of fraud, pure or simple. California had a voter turnout of 64.5% of registered voters in 2018.

    https://www.brennancenter.org/issues/voter-fraud

In the last election 58,000 illegals voted in Texas alone.

    That’s what Trump claimed.

The Texas Sec of State office said it would be sending local election officials a list of 95,000 registered voters who, the office suggests, should have their citizenship status verified by local authorities, reported the Texas Tribune. Of those, 58,000 are shown to have voted at least once over a 22-year period, from 1996 to 2018, according to the secretary of state’s office.

It’s not likely that 58,000 voted last year in Texas, but even imagining they did – that amounts to 0.69% of the total votes there.

    http://time.com/5514115/trump-rampant-voter-fraud-texas/

While there are problems with our voter rolls, there is scant evidence of actual voter fraud in the US (although the investigation into possible voter fraud by Republican Mark Harris in NC 9th District is ongoing).

    • Liljeffyatemypuppy says:

58,000 illegal votes can swing a lot of cities and counties not to mention congressional districts both state and federal.
The percentage of the total vote is irrelevant to statewide races.
      https://www.thepiratescove.us/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_cool.gif

      • Jacob Noire says:

Indeed. Trump won the EC by some 77,000 votes in three states while losing the popular vote by 3,000,000.

The Texas Sec of State said 58,000 POTENTIAL illegally registered voters voted over 22 years. That’s a few thousand statewide votes per election over the years, but there was no evidence of voter fraud, and few Dems are elected in Texas anyway! If they voted, maybe they voted GOP.

        • Liljeffyatemypuppy says:

          Nignorant assumes a lot. https://www.thepiratescove.us/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_cool.gif

        • Liljeffyatemypuppy says:

There are 3,141 counties in the U.S.
Trump won 3,084 of them. Clinton 57.

There are 62 counties in New York State.
Trump won 46 of them. Clinton 16.
Clinton won the popular vote by about 1.5 million.

In the 5 counties that encompass New York City (Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens & Richmond) Clinton received well over 2 million more votes than Trump. (Clinton won 4 counties, Trump took Richmond).
-Therefore, those counties alone accounted for Clinton winning the popular vote for the entire country.

-Those counties encompass an area of about 319 square miles.
-The U.S. is comprised of an area about 3,797,000 square miles.

When you have a country of almost 4 million square miles it would be ludicrous (or nignorant) to suggest that the vote of an area of 319 square miles should dictate the outcome of a national election.

And you wonder why some suggest ending the Electoral College.

      • Jacob Noire says:

        Kye,

Let me give you an example to help explain what’s happening in Texas.

I have a friend born in a Caribbean nation, who moved to the US decades ago to study and work. He had a green card. He used the green card to obtain drivers licenses in various states. Two years ago he became a naturalized American citizen and proudly voted for the first time!

In Texas, they went back through the files at least 22 years looking for Texans who had used their immigration status to obtain drivers licenses or ID cards and are correlating their voting history to those old documents. Like my friend, many may in fact now be citizens. And obtaining a state ID based on legal immigration status is not only legal, it’s desirable.

A similar search occurred in Colorado in 2012, where the state suspected almost 4,000 of voting illegally. In that search, 141 came up as potential non-citizens of which 35 had voted at least once. A subsequent investigation found that 4 people listed as dead may have had votes cast in their names. Also in Colorado, the former head of the Colorado GOP, Steve Curtis, was indicted for forging his wife’s name on a mail-in ballot for the 2016 election.

A spokeswoman for Colorado Secretary of State Wayne Williams said the Curtis case is the only allegation of voter fraud in the state from the 2016 election cycle that has resulted in a prosecution.

Anyway, much like the “national emergency” at the border, voter fraud in the US is an overhyped political ploy.

Too bad Rouva Jeffery doesn’t keep up with the news.

TX nailed yet another bunch of vote fraudsters. Abbott is taking this quite seriously. They found 95,000 fraudulent voters on their rolls.

And, if we’re going through the archives, OH found 50,000 names that didn’t belong on the voter rolls

PS One guy forged his wife’s name. Well, that certainly evens things up for all that vote harvesting in CA.

          • Jacob Noire says:

You keep repeating the same ignorant nonsense. The 95,000 in Texas is bogus.

Are you paid by the Ignorati to disseminate disinformation?

Do you have actual evidence of voter fraud? You know, people walking into a polling place, pretending to be someone else, and voting?

Or is your job just to make people doubt the system?

We all realize that if you type it, it is likely false.

  18. Kye says:

“If they voted maybe they voted GOP”

That’s your answer? Your answer should be that nobody but American citizens should vote in our elections regardless of who they vote for. That right there is the difference between leftists and normals. You guys will do anything to win and we won’t. I guess that’s why you’re winning. You will accept corruption as long as it’s for and on your side.

    • Jacob Noire says:

It’s always “projection”. The right has proven time and again that they’ll do whatever it takes to win. The last thing the right believes in is one person, one vote – you know – democracy.

The voter fraud meme is a distraction, just another shiny object jangled in front of the people. The right specializes in election fraud. They want unlimited, secret funding of elections; they want to keep many Americans from voting…

      • formwiz says:

Only because projection is what Lefties do. It’s always “projection”. The right has proven time and again that they’ll do whatever it takes to win. The last thing the right believes in is one person, one vote – you know – democracy

QED (that’s what you write or say when you’ve proven something; especially in science)

Although distraction is what Fraulein Jeffery is here to provide.

        She’s lousy at it.

    • Jacob Noire says:

And explain how in state after state, Dems cast more votes but Repubs win more seats? (Hint: state level gerrymandering). The Republicans are so much smarter than the naïve Dems. The GOP has had a long plan in force for decades – win the state legislatures, gerrymander and suppress votes. It’s how a minority rules a majority. And all perfectly legal.

Control the courts and get rulings in your favor regarding campaign financing, Voting Rights Act… and on and on. The right has been subverting democracy. And all perfectly legal. Kudos.

      • formwiz says:

The word districts ring any bells? Most elections are by city, county, township, or district.

        A relative few are statewide.

One would think Froken Jeffery would get this, but she is obtuse.

  19. Jacob Noire says:

Former conservative and current editor for the National Review, Jonah Goldberg, said this morning that Trump has his strategy planned out and will likely ignore whatever the Dems propose and declare a “national emergency” to divert military funds to The Wall. He made a campaign promise that resonated at his rallies. Trump’s only objective is to save face and shore up his support with the America First base (e.g., Anne Coulter). The “national emergency” will wind up in the courts, where it will be shot down, but tRump would have met his objective with his base. “I tried but the Deep State court system wants open borders to gather more communist voters!”

Again. There is no emergency of criminals, terrorists, mother and father rapers storming the southern border. Border crossings have plummeted over the years. The individuals in the caravans stop and TURN THEMSELVES IN. We need more infrastructure for processing legal asylum seekers. We need a fair guest worker program. We need better drug interdiction at ports of entry. We do not need a big, beautiful Wall.

    • formwiz says:

“Former Conservative” – right! More like phony Conservative.

And Trump will just let Pelosi Galore do her thing (she’s refusing to let the SOTU go on in shutdown recess (and playing into his hands)).

There is no emergency of criminals, terrorists, mother and father rapers storming the southern border.

Maybe jungfru Jeffery should go down to the Sonoran desert and spread ’em.

    • david7134 says:

      Jeff,
I hate to tell you this, but the wall is being built as we comment. I live in a community the has trains supplying most activity to our south. I have been able to predict almost every armed conflict over the last 30 years bug watching tho se trains in their journey to southern ports. Lately I haves seen a ton of material moving south that would characterize major construction, as with the wall.

      • Jacob Noire says:

        drve,

I hate to ask you this, but if the Wall is already being built then why did tRump shut down the gov’t? Spite?

He sure paid a high political price for something that is already being done. Do you think he’s really that dumb?

        • formwiz says:

The wall is mostly at areas like El Paso, San Diego, Tucson, and Yuma. Some of the sections are being upgraded or replaced.

Lots of areas out in the boonies have to get a wall.

Idiot Girl knows all this, but, if anybody can be accused of spite, it’s the Demos. They’ve shown consistently they don’t give a damn about the govt slugs.

and The Donald doesn’t seem to be paying any price for the shutdown. Pelosi Galore OTOH…

BTW If Kumari Jeffery thinks there’s no crisis on the border, she doesn’t want to talk to these ladies, they live in McAllen TX.

        • david7134 says:

          Jeff,
You can’t recognize a dance? The Dems are losing the dance contest and don’t know it. Always remember that you are very stupid and don’t understand a thing around you.

    • Jacob Noire says:

from another border official, cited in your piece:

“This is a tunnel, this is the second tunnel that we have located. This is an area where we actually have a wall.”

  20. formwiz says:

You keep repeating the same ignorant nonsense. The 95,000 in Texas is bogus.

Do you have actual evidence of voter fraud? You know, people walking into a polling place, pretending to be someone else, and voting?

Do you have actual evidence of global warming, I mean do you measure the temp hourly, or something equally idiotic?

And, if you want to challenge the 95,000 figure, I suggest you take it up with the State of Texas. Their figure, not mine.

Are you paid by the Ignorati to disseminate disinformation?

Or is your job just to make people doubt the system?

We all realize that if you type it, it is likely false.

Which we is this? Most of the people here seem to trust my word more than yours.

And we know you’re the one being paid. I’ve seen the “smirk of white privilege” line all over the Net.

Why do I think you get paid less than $15 because you’re conned into doing it “for the greater good”?

As for doubting the system, you do a better job than almost any other village idiot around. If the Left needs to pay you to make their case with mass-disseminated talking points, then truly we know we’re winning.
