A majority of Americans disagree with President Donald Trump’s assertion that football players should be fired for kneeling during the national anthem, even though most say they would personally stand during the song, according to an exclusive Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll released on Tuesday.
The Sept. 25-26 poll found that 57 percent of adults do not think the National Football League should fire players who kneel. This included 61 percent of NFL fans who watch at least a few games per season.
The results were split along party lines, however, as 82 percent of Democrats and 29 percent of Republicans disagreed with the president’s comments about firing football players. (full poll results here)
The actual breakdown of respondents is “1,622 people, including 628 Democrats, 583 Republicans and 919 people who watched a football game at least a few times during the season.” 222 respondents were independents Other polls show that the majority who watch football are Republicans with high voting tendencies. Yet, more Democrats in the poll? They want to kill the NFL to start with.

35% approve. I’m in the “dude, stop, and you shouldn’t have even started camp.” Over course, the breakdown of D/R/I is 76%/26%/59%.
43% strongly/somewhat dissaprove of the way the NFL is handling this, with 36% somewhat strongly approving. 20% do not know. 71% of Republicans, the primary viewers of the NFL, disapprove.
16% say their view is more favorable of NFL, 47% say view hasn’t changed, while 37% say more negative. 67% of Republicans say more negative. I wonder how much money that equates to in lost revenue?
Here’s where it gets really fun
That’s right, 27% never watched football at all last year. 44% of the respondents haven’t watched this year. Without think about potential implications, let’s just note that a large number of included respondents don’t even watch the NFL! What’s the point of including them in a discussion of the NFL? It’s like asking me to comment on bull riding or the NBA: I don’t watch either.
Anyhow, combine this with the reality that DirectTV is allowing customers to receive refunds for their Sunday NFL Ticket football package. They’re getting a lot of calls to cancel.
The Daily Caller highlights another poll
A survey by Remington Research Group found that 64 percent of voters agreewith President Trump and want players to stand for the anthem. The survey also found that 80 percent of voters want less politics in sports, while 51 percent say they are watching less football than in previous years.
Among those watching less football, 69 percent pointed to “Players using the NFL as a stage for their political views†as the primary reason why.
Look, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: it’s not the protest itself, it’s the timing of the protest, and who they’re protesting. What they’ve actually managed to do (besides driving fans from the NFL) is to divide people, instead of bringing people over to their side. Remember the old saying about catching more flies with honey than vinegar? These pampered elitist players and coaches are using vinegar. Especially when they’re following a guy who wore socks depicting cops as pigs. And is a big fan of Malcolm X and Fidel Castro. That doesn’t win people over.

When is the right time to protest police killing Black people? Even TEACH said cop Stockley in St. Louis was a murderer, maybe not 1st degree, but a murderer. That is who the protesters are protesting – not the military, not America – but the oppression and killing of Blacks by our police.
Perhaps the real question is what are these athletes actually doing to help their black bretheren? I know they climb in their million dollar cars and drive home to their million dollar homes and hang out in their million dollar swimming pool while they change into their 10,000 dollar suits and 25,000 dollar jewelery to go to the club and dance and party.
Why are they not marching with Antifa, or black lives matter, or down in the projects offering to serve meals, having meetings with black leaders and setting an example. Donating some of their millions to the poor and suffering. Why is hollywood not opening their big fat wallets to help the poor and the suffering and the black man?
Ill tell you why. Because they are too busy joining the comfort of a fat cat world and thats what makes this all the more bothersome for what it really is. Nothing more then an appeasement of guilt by a bunch of black athletes who feel compelled now to take a stand for something they really don’t care about at all.
No one believes that blacks are being murdered by cops on a systematic basis. Almost every cop is exonerated by the courts for said violation. There is No concerted effort by the Philadelphia or Saint Louis Police who are predominantly black to murder black men. We all understand this. Even the black people really understand this.
What is sad in this is that these athletes are being duped into making a stand for something that is not happening and does not even matter to them. They dont care if a drug dealer with a rap sheet a mile long, lugging guns is shot by police after he tries to run over two cops multiple times. They don’t. No one does. Not even most of the black people. But you get a couple thousand people rioting in the streets and the press drums this into America is a black hating, homophobic, black man killing machine who is systematically attempting to genocide the black race.
Sad. There is always time for peaceful protest. Always. Its just the NFL doesnt realize how duped they are by a culture that is going to pit Americans vs Americans. Its always been the way of the communist.
Actually this does matter to them as most have criminal records and should be in jail. But they do little to nothing to help others unless via a phony tax shelter.

Blacks are harmed by the police in far less numbers than whites. Look it up. From my dealings with the police, they go out of their way to avoid confrontations with blacks. The question is not a relation to the police but why are blacks and the NFL making such a deal about the cops killing people who are attacking them. Now, you will have one of your fits and lie like you usually do, but I do know that some instances of police harming blacks have been inappropriate. But those have resulted in convictions. Now, why is it that blacks commit crimes far in excess of their representation in our population? Why are blacks at least 8 times as likely to use violence that any other race? And that is not just an American issue but one that is world wide, taking away the fact that the poor black man was once a slave. The rest of us were slaves as well, but only the blacks seem held back by the experience 160 years ago. As rotter has said, much of this is being milked by the communist, just like in the 60’s. Only this time the Democratic party is mostly communist as well. Then why do you constantly lie to make points?

Do you really believe that the Emancipation Proclamation ended discrimination against Blacks? Have you heard of Jim Crow, The Voting Rights Act, lynchings, Rosa Parks, Separate but Equal, Selma, Orval Faubus, Brown vs Board, Jackie Robinson, Loving vs VA, etc?
Were your white parents allowed to attend decent public schools? Blacks were forced into underfuneded substandard schools until 1954 – although de facto housing discrimination maintained segregated neighborhoods then and now.
Black crime rates are comparable to other groups in the same socioeconomic class. Do you bring it up to justify the killing of Blacks by police?

I lived in South Mississippi in the 50’s and never saw any blacks suffering, in fact, there schools were better than ours as the politicians were trying to get black votes. And you are lying your tail off about the cop interactions. Do you think that cops go to school to learn how to kill blacks across the country. A stat, there are a small number of black females in San Francisco, a very liberal city, yet their arrest record is 5 times that of white women. Why don’t blacks endorse the color blind society that is prevalent in our country. For that matter, why do you constantly put them down and assume an aura of superiority.

I understand the problems of the black people in America. What I find astounding is how Trump who wants to rebuild inner cities is being demonized. The democrats claim they want to work with him but Trump has said in order to get this part of his agenda going he needs the corporate tax cuts in order to use the repatriated money from overseas to fund the project.
Of course the Democrats will have none of this as the republicans do nothing. They learned a page out of Harry Reid’s play book.
