Al Gore Takes Long Fossil Fueled Flight To Complain About Fossil Fuels

When we discuss Warmists being hypocrites, this is exactly what we’re referring to

(Mail And Guardian) Al Gore, the former American vice-president and Nobel Peace prize winner, spoke on the second day of the Climate Reality Leadership Corps training in Johannesburg on Thursday. The event drew environmental thinkers and activists from around the continent. The corps is a global movement to teach people about climate change and help them adapt to a changing world.

In his presentation, Gore gave an overview of how humans were driving climate change and how it was affecting conditions around the world right now.

“Whenever any important question is ultimately resolved into a choice between right and wrong, the outcome becomes inevitable.” The current global system was destroying the habitability of the planet by burning fossil fuels, Gore said, adding that it was wrong and needed to change. “We can see the pathway ahead very clearly and we are going to prevail.”

A round trip flight from Tennessee to Johannesburg, S.A puts out almost 10 metric tons of “carbon pollution” (that’s Gore’s euphemism for CO2). The average “carbon footprint” for Americans is around 19 metric tons yearly. For world citizens, it is around 4 metric tons. So Gore put out almost half of what each American does for a year, and over double for a world citizen, just to give a brief talk in South Africa.

And, yeah, he does his normal insane schtick

The number of warmer days had rapidly increased since the 1980s as a result. Extreme cold and hot days used to occur 0.1% of the time, now they happen 10% of the time.

So greenhouse gases make it cold, too? He blames hurricanes and tropical storms on “climate change”, and pretty much everything. What he fails to show is proof that it is mostly/solely caused by Mankind, instead, like most Warmists, he jumps to conclusions, creating a causal relationship, yet, refuses to live the carbon neutral life he tells everyone else to live.

  1. Blick says:

Gore is just another Elite pissing on us peasants. Do as Gore says not as Gore does, (that’s not for you). Hypocritical Phoney. Sputter, mutter, hissing.

  2. Jeffery says:

Al Gore’s behavior does not change the reality of global warming.

The Earth is warming because of man’s burning of fossil fuels.

You’re using an ad hominem attack instead of discussing the evidence.

It’s like me dismissing Paul Ryan’s arguments on the debt by pointing out his absolute hypocrisy for being on the public dole for decades. The two are not related.

  3. gitarcarver says:

Once again it is time to beat down Jeffery’s lunacy on this…..

Al Gore’s behavior does not change the reality of global warming.

No one said it did. Thank you for the straw man. However, what if does illustrate is the commitment to addressing “global warming” that Gore has.

The Earth is warming because of man’s burning of fossil fuels.

That’s your unproven contention. Thank you for repeating it over and over. However, that does not take away that if Al Gore believes as you do, why is he massively contributing to the very thing he says he is against?

You’re using an ad hominem attack instead of discussing the evidence.

Nope. This is not an attack on the man, but the man’s actions that are related to his hypocrisy.

It’s like me dismissing Paul Ryan’s arguments on the debt by pointing out his absolute hypocrisy for being on the public dole for decades.

Really? Ryan is a paid employee of the government. In no way is that being “on the dole.” If that were the case, then your employees are “on the dole” when they work for you. Go ahead and tell them that. I am sure they would appreciate knowing that you feel their work is devalued by you to that extent.

    The two are not related.

Let’s go to the tape, shall we?

The current global system was destroying the habitability of the planet by burning fossil fuels, Gore said.

The guy who is railing against the burning of fossil fuels is adding to the amount of fossil fuels being burned and you don’t think those two facts are related?

If your assertion weren’t so pitifully sad and lacking in critical thinking it would be funny.

  4. Well put, GC. Jeff will excuse any behavior by the Grand Poobah of Climate Change, and any other Warmist. Probably because Jeff knows the issue is a load of mule fritters, simply meant to push progressive policies of taxation and control on Other People. These Warmists morons never think their fascistic policies will apply to themselves.

PS: the carbon footprint I calculated is for flying 1st class. However, Gore does like to fly private jets, which have much higher footprints

  5. Butt_Melting_Gumballs says:

Again, as Teach always shows: it is do they practice what they demand of others?

if the answer is “no” then they can not be trusted.

Granted, J has a point that the message can be held to a different standard than the messenger.

Look at how many preachers have failed the faithful, but yet we don’t throw away the message.

However, as J likes to ignore, the message has been invalidated, there is no proof of it, and all of the supposed evidence is computer model driven. And those models are not even tested, verified, and contain enough data about natural processes to even model what they say they are. And most modelers agree with that.

But despite no tools, no evidence, no observable evidence, the cult of warming refuse to give up this belief. Why? Because like with christianity, it is a faith, a belief system they are tied to.

  6. Jeffery says:

I don’t care about Al Gore. I don’t defend Al Gore. Al Gore is not a climate scientist.

Al Gore’s actions have nothing to do with global warming, any more than Rep Ryan’s living off our tax dollars invalidates his ideas about the economy, even though his paycheck adds to the national debt.

As I pointed out, Gore’s behavior neither supports nor refutes the theory of AGW. What does support the theory of AGW is the overwhelming evidence. I repeat that often because it’s true, and you seem to forget that fine point.

I understand your political motivation to always want to change the subject from data and evidence to personalities and smears. No amount of evidence will ever convince the deniers that the Earth is warming unnaturally because of added atmospheric CO2.

  7. Look at how many preachers have failed the faithful, but yet we don’t throw away the message.

Excellent point. It is not the failing of the religion, it is the failing of the person. But, we lose trust in the people who are supposed to be leaders, and, if enough of them are hypocrites, problem, bad people, etc, we start losing faith in the religion. The Roman Catholic Church hurt the Church by not taking stronger measures against the pedophile priests. In the same way, the leaders in the AGW movement are hypocrites, and cannot be trusted to seemingly even make token changes in their lives to match their rhetoric.

I don’t care about Al Gore. I don’t defend Al Gore. Al Gore is not a climate scientist.

Uh huh. Until you need him again.

Al Gore’s actions have nothing to do with global warming, any more than Rep Ryan’s living off our tax dollars invalidates his ideas about the economy, even though his paycheck adds to the national debt.

Al Gore is one of the faces of the “climate change” movement, and quite a few of the big wigs in the AGW movement listen heavily to him. And if he refuses to even marginally practice what he preaches, then we can see this is pure bullshit.

As for Ryan, hey, dumbass, elected officials getting paid is in the Constitution. It’s not the public dole. Conservatives aren’t saying that government shouldn’t spend any money. We argue about what we should be spending and on what.

  8. Jeffery says:

Pirate, you ignorant, moron, dumbass, slut, Coolist hypocrite. I understand that you want to confiscate my taxes to pay for the things you want the Federal government to do, and that makes you a hypocrite. Why should anyone believe anything you say since you won’t practice what you preach?

You demand that I pay taxes to support you but you don’t want to pay any taxes. This proves the smaller government movement is pure bullshit. To take any conservatard seriously on the debt they have to demonstrate the strength of their convictions by not taking tax monies from the rest of us.

Here’s a list of Republic leaders who petitioned for ACA funds from the Federal gov’t while pretending to favor repeal of the ACA:

    Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson (R-TX)
    Senator Saxby Chambliss (R-GA)
    Senator Thad Cochran (R-MS)
    Senator John Cornyn (R-TX)
    Senator Mark Kirk (R-IL)
    Senator Rob Portman (R-OH)

    Rep Mary Bono Mack (R-CA)
    Rep Jerry Lewis (R-CA)
    Rep. David Valadao (R-CA)
    Rep John Barrow (R-GA)
    Rep Johnny Isakson (R-GA)
    Rep Gregg Harper (R-MS)
    Rep Lee Terry (R-NE)
    Rep Steve Pearce (R-NM)
    Rep Bob Gibbs (R-OH)
    Rep Kirsti Noem (R-SD)
    Rep Michael McCaul (R-TX)
    Rep Paul Ryan (R-WI)

How can we cut spending when these hypocrites keep spending? One can only conclude that their cause is bullshit. Right? Or can only liberals be hypocrites?

  9. gitarcarver says:

After getting bitchslapped by the owner of the site and others, Jeffery doubled down on stupidity and started to rant again saying:

I understand that you want to confiscate my taxes to pay for the things you want the Federal government to do, and that makes you a hypocrite.

It is not what we want the government to do, it is what the Constitution says the government should do. Through the years we have seen progressives such as yourself advocate for moving away from the Constitution and to a mentality of what you think tax monies should be spent on. Now that people are pushing back, you claim that people are hypocrites for wanting taxes to pay for what is mandated by the Constitution but not paying for liberal and progressive programs that are a failure.

Everyone but you understands that the Federal government has to pay for certain things. Advocating for paying for those things while wanting to cut spending in areas not in the Constitution is not hypocrisy, it is sound financial policy as well a return to the principles of freedom upon which the country was founded.

But Jeffery hates freedom. Jeffery hates people demanding the fruits of their labor. Jeffery believes that the government owns the money in people’s pockets.

Why should anyone believe anything you say since you won’t practice what you preach?

That is funny coming from you, Jeffery. That is really funny.

You demand that I pay taxes to support you but you don’t want to pay any taxes.

Once again Jeffery sets up a straw man argument here. The fact of the matter is that most of us pay taxes and while conservatives advocate for a return to Constitutionally based spending, liberals and progressives like Jeffery think that we all should pay for the programs they want even if those programs are not within the Constitution and are failures.

To put it bluntly, Jeffery and his ilk are the ones that are demanding that others pay taxes for things they support, not conservatives.

This proves the smaller government movement is pure bullshit.

No, it proves that in an attempt to discredit what is said, you either have to lie, erect a strawman that is easily destroyed or demonstrate that you cannot read and comprehend.

It may be one of the three, a combination of any of the three or even all three.

But no matter what, it shows a desperation on the part of Jeffery as he has still not addressed the issue of the hypocrisy in his life and the actions of people like Al Gore.

In short, the only BS in this case is from Jeffery.

To take any conservatard seriously on the debt they have to demonstrate the strength of their convictions by not taking tax monies from the rest of us.

You mean that people have to stop wanting their money back? You mean that people who pay taxes should be told they cannot see the benefit from those taxes even though the basis of Federal taxation is a benefit for all? You mean you want to dismantle the basis of freedom and the Constitution?

Utah (where Jeffery lives) does not need to pass a marijuana law because whatever Jeffery is smoking is more mind distorting than the best pot available.

Here’s a list of Republic leaders who petitioned for ACA funds from the Federal gov’t while pretending to favor repeal of the ACA:

So in Jeffery’s world, the Federal government can force states and the people of those states to pay for something and yet not demand that Federal tax dollars be returned to the state in order to pay for that which the Feds mandate.

    Yeah. That makes sense.

Jeffery in his smoke and alcohol stupor does not see (or at least pretends not to see) the fact that there is a difference in paying into something (like taxes) and wanting to get a benefit from that payment and making personnel choices (like CO2 emissions) and demanding that others sacrifice.

He does not see the distinction between the government demanding payment in the form of taxes and the free choices he and people of his ilk make in increasing the CO2 in the atmosphere.

He does not see that his hypocrisy and that of people like himself and Al Gore have nothing to do with wanting the government to spend less and therefore take less money from people.

He does not see the difference between the choice he and his ilk can make and people not having a choice because their money is being taking from them at the point of a sword.

It is impossible to debate a pseudo intellectual such as Jeffery because in the end, there is no intelligence, no logic, nor moral compass and no common sense for him to respond with. There is nothing. Zippo. Zero. Nada. Zilch.

All there is is anger at being and hypocrisy.

If he can’t or won’t address that within himself, there is no one to blame but himself.

  10. Jeffery says:

    g2,

    OK. Feel better?

  11. gitarcarver says:

    Jeffery,

Do I feel better that a pseudo intellectual hypocrite wants to try and tell everyone what to do?

    Nah.

Do I feel better in that your claims and hypocrisy are laid bare for all to see?

    Yep.

Do I feel better in knowing that you are incapable of actually debating?

    Nah. Not really.

Do I feel better in knowing that you act like a child?

    Nah.

Do I feel better in watching you squirm, lie and lash out in anger and hatred?

    Nah.

Do I feel better knowing that you can’t change your spots?

    Nah.

Do I feel better in helping expose you for what you are?

    You bet.

  12. gitarcarver says:

Oh, and by the way, Al Gore and you are still hypocrites in the AGW debate and your unwillingness of you, Gore and people of your ilk to change your lifestyle shows that your talk about AGW is bluster and that you don’t actually believe what you type.

Actions speak louder than words Jeffery.

  13. Blick says:

If Gore was serious about AGW he could have taped his speech or even appeared live on camera/screen and never had to fly to the conference. Same with most of the attendees. With video conferencing why all the travel?

  14. Jeffery says:

Have at Al Gore all you want! There are a lot of things that conservatives hate about Gore – he’s fat, he’s pompous, he graduated Harvard, he’s an author, he’s rich, he enlisted in the Army during Vietnam, he’s a Democrat, he was Bill Clinton’s VP, he’s won a Grammy, Oscar, Nobel, Emmy, he’s divorced, he’s vegan, he talks funny… I’m sure you have others.

No, this is just classic ‘argumentum ad hominem’, attacking the person rather than the argument.

The fact that he flew to Africa does not change the fact that the Earth is warming because of added atmospheric CO2.

Yes, Al Gore is a hypocrite. So is Paul Ryan. So is Bill Clinton. So are you. So am I. So is every conservative that accepts Federal funds. And yes, these are all ad hominem attacks that ignore the arguments.

    Fact: The Earth is warming.

Fact: The Earth is warming because of added atmospheric CO2.

    Discuss.

  15. Jeffery says:

    g2,

“…Al Gore and you are still hypocrites in the AGW debate and your unwillingness of you, Gore and people of your ilk to change your lifestyle…”

Even if true, so what? And it turns out it’s not even true, making you a LIAR, in addition to being a hypocrite. How can we believe anything you say? (This is an ad hominem attack on you, by me, btw – I’ve noticed that you guys don’t recognize when I do to you what you do to others, so I’ll start pointing it out.)

Al Gore became a vegan. That’s a lifestyle change. He uses renewable energy whenever possible. That’s a lifestyle change. He retrofitted his mansion to be more energy efficient – that’s a lifestyle change.

My lifestyle has always been energy efficient, so there wasn’t much to change. I am NOT a vegan, though. So I’m a hypocrite there. I pay extra for renewable energy. So I’m not a hypocrite there. I do NOT have solar panels, making me a hypocrite.

You love to talk about things you know nothing about – attacking what you imagine my lifestyle to be – rather than making arguments to support your position.

The Earth is warming because of CO2 added to the atmosphere. Attack that.

  16. You demand that I pay taxes to support you but you don’t want to pay any taxes.

Have I demanded that you pay anything? Or stated that I do not want to pay taxes? Please point out where I’ve written that, Jeff.

In fact, it is you Leftists that demand that people, usually That Guy, not yourselves, pay higher taxes. The same with AGW, where you always want That Guy to suffer for your beliefs. To pay more. To be restricted. To be forced to change they way they live and do business.

Taxes are a necessary evil. They might not be a problem if government spent the money forcibly taken from the citizen properly, with respect, and wise and reasonable fashion. Yet, they don’t. This is people in both parties. Heck, government around the world. Wasting taxpayer money on stupid crap. On pork. Etc, and so on.

  17. gitarcarver says:

    Jeffery,

    Even if true, so what?

How many times are you going to sit there and deny that not acting on ones beliefs is hypocritical and shows that you really don’t believe in what you say?

It is amazing that of all the times that we have said that to you, you haven’t addressed it because you can’t.

So please, come back and discuss things when you aren’t acting as a little child who continually thinks that repeating the same lies over and over makes the statement true.

    Discuss.

We’ve discussed the tax angle multiple times and you are either too stupid, too dense or just unwilling to see what you are saying is wrong.

  18. Jeffery says:

    g2,

Perhaps you missed what I typed earlier.

“Yes, Al Gore is a hypocrite. So is Paul Ryan. So is Bill Clinton. So are you. So am I. So is every conservative that accepts Federal funds. And yes, these are all ad hominem attacks that ignore the arguments.”

What you are doing is just classic ‘argumentum ad hominem’, attacking the person rather than the argument.

The Earth is warming because of CO2 added to the atmosphere.

You claim that hypocrisy falsifies the scientific theory of anthropogenic global warming, yet you have no evidence of hypocrisy in others, and even if you did, you have no evidence that the hypocrisy invalidates the theory.

So why do you and your juvenile ilk bitterly cling to the flawed semantic trick of smearing your debate opponent rather than addressing the scientific argument? Isn’t it obvious? You have no scientific arguments.

Lest you forget the debate topic – The Earth is warming because of CO2 added to the atmosphere.

Please come back when you have a grown-up argument to make. Arguing over your ill-formed and inadequately supported, simplistic opinions is tiresome.

  19. gitarcarver says:

    Jeffery,

Perhaps you missed what I typed earlier.

I didn’t miss it, Jeffery, I just realize that “mommy, they do it too!” is not a valid reason for one’s actions. It is a childish and very immature thing for you to even propose, but then again, that is all you have.

“Yes, Al Gore is a hypocrite. So is Paul Ryan. So is Bill Clinton. So are you. So am I. So is every conservative that accepts Federal funds. And yes, these are all ad hominem attacks that ignore the arguments.”

And of course, once again we see how childish you are being because you think that repeating a failed argument will somehow make it true.

And no, they don’t ignore the arguments that people who believe in something act on those beliefs.

You claim that hypocrisy falsifies the scientific theory of anthropogenic global warming,

Once again, you demonstrate that you have comprehension issues. I suspect you lash out and make strawman arguments because you have nothing else.

    You have no scientific arguments.

Except for the fact that we put up scientific arguments that you fail to address or attack the messenger for some unrelated activity.

You can’t deal with science and the facts Jeffery.

Lest you forget the debate topic – The Earth is warming because of CO2 added to the atmosphere.

Funny, the name of the originating post is “Al Gore Takes Long Fossil Fueled Flight To Complain About Fossil Fuels.” That is the topic to all those who can read and comprehend the written word.

Perhaps you need to take a remedial reading course? Try 1-800-ABCDEFG. They can help you.

Either you cannot comprehend the topic or your statement is a lie. It could be a combination of both given your past and the fact that children, or people who act like children, lie more than adults.

  20. Jeffery says:

    g2,

You type so many words but never address the issues.

The post claimed that hypocrisy falsifies the theory of AGW. No, it doesn’t. And your ramblings and insults to the contrary are ineffective.

You claim to know how I live my life. False. You claim to know how every climate realist lives their life but offer not even a whiff of evidence. False.

You have failed to prove your thesis. Next?

My rants may be bluster, but so what? You know what:

The Earth is warming because of CO2 added to the atmosphere.

Far-rightists lack rational moorings. You don’t understand nor believe the physical laws of the universe and are guided by the myths that gods and demons control the universe, so how can you possibly understand a scientific argument? In any event, I understand you wish to make this personal rather than about evidence. Since you’ve presented no evidence to support your thesis that hypocrisy falsifies the theory of AGW – you’ve got a big fat fail. Enough.

The Earth is warming because of CO2 added to the atmosphere. Your name-calling does not change the facts.

Come back with a grown-up argument.

  21. Jeffery says:

On another thread I asked the Pirate to support his primary thesis of global warming, i.e., that the theory is false because he calls climate realists hypocrites.

    Here’s what I requested:

“What evidence do you have that your slurred “Warmists” haven’t changed their behaviors?

If you cannot supply that data, what can we say except that your claim is total bullshit.

You’ve been served. Time to put up or shut up.

Oh, and our Earth is warming because of CO2 added to the atmosphere.”

Do you want to help him out? Do you have any evidence that Warmists haven’t changed their behaviors and are therefore hypocrites? Do you have any evidence that hypocrisy falsifies the theory of AGW?

If you don’t have the evidence to support your claims, why do you make them?

  22. gitarcarver says:

    Dear Jeffery the Ostrich,

You type so many words but never address the issues.

Just because you refuse to read or understand what is said doesn’t mean that the issues have not been addressed.

The post claimed that hypocrisy falsifies the theory of AGW.

    No it didn’t.

Once again you try to erect a strawman built on your lack or reading and comprehension skills.

You claimed in a previous post that this thread was about CO2 in the atmosphere when the title and the topic are clearly different. You won’t address that because you are face with either admitting that you lied or you cannot read and comprehend what is said.

You claim to know how I live my life.

Really? You have made posts in which you have talked about your lifestyle. Were you lying then or are you lying now?

You claim to know how every climate realist lives their life but offer not even a whiff of evidence. False.

Really? Please show where anyone made the claim of “every climate realist??” By the way, we aren’t talking about climate realists, we are talking about warmists and AGW Chicken Littles. (Or maybe I should say “Ostrich Littles” like yourself who bury your heads in the sand when you don’t want to read something or comprehend it.)

My rants may be bluster, but so what?

Ummm…. the fact that “blustering” is full of hot air and BS? That’s what.

On another thread I asked the Pirate to support his primary thesis of global warming, i.e., that the theory is false because he calls climate realists hypocrites.

I have never seen Teach say that the theory is invalid because of the actions of hypocrites like yourself. What is being said is that you want to demand others change for a theory that your own actions don’t support.

Your immature response is always “I can do what I want” and “I want this and this and this and this and this and this and this and this from other people.”

So where are we now? Well, once again you have been shown to be wrong. Once again you have been shown to not understand the written English language. Once again we see that you are unwilling to honestly debate anything and instead resort to strawmen arguments. Once again we see that you stick your head in the sand when the evidence, data and facts go against you.

    But you know what?

Al Gore and you are still hypocrites in the AGW debate and your unwillingness of you, Gore and people of your ilk to change your lifestyle shows that your talk about AGW is bluster and that you don’t actually believe what you type.

Actions speak louder than words Jeffery.

  23. Jeffery says:

So you can’t support with evidence your claim that calling others hypocrites falsifies the theory of AGW . Got it. Can you at least propose a physical mechanism by which your name-calling MIGHT disprove the theory? By your lack of action and your torrent of words, I suspect that you don’t believe your own statements.

While you sit there gasping for breath, remember this: The Earth continues to warm because of CO2 added to the atmosphere.

  24. gitarcarver says:

So you can’t support with evidence your claim that calling others hypocrites falsifies the theory of AGW .

Can you support you claim that either Teach or I made such a claim?

If not, admit that you are lying or cannot read.

But thanks for showing the world how ridiculously insipid you are. Keep erecting those strawmen, In your mind they make you look intelligent but to the rest of the world, not so much.

    And by the way…..

Al Gore and you are still hypocrites in the AGW debate and your unwillingness of you, Gore and people of your ilk to change your lifestyle shows that your talk about AGW is bluster and that you don’t actually believe what you type.

Actions speak louder than words Jeffery.

  25. Jeffery says:

“Can you support you claim that either Teach or I made such a claim?”

What else can your fetish mean? You and the Pirate keep harping on climate realists using fossil fuels as if it is relevant to the argument over global warming. It’s just another in a long line of ad hominem attacks from your ilk since you have no scientific argument.

You have yet to support with even a whiff of evidence your opinion that climate realists are hypocrites. Nor have you linked the imagined hypocrisy to global warming. How does the behavior that you imagine for me impact the fact on the next line?

The Earth is warming because of increased atmospheric CO2. Refute that before you suck it.

Your words are meaningless. Your actions suck it.

  26. gitarcarver says:

What else can your fetish mean?

So the answer is “no, you don’t have any evidence that anyone other than you made the claim.”

    You lied.

    Again.

You have yet to support with even a whiff of evidence your opinion that climate realists are hypocrites.

Please read the original post. It is one of many that you can find here on the site on people of your ilk are hypocrites. But the funny thing is that you keep railing against the posts and then say that no posts or evidence exists.
