David Gregory: Armed School Security For Me, But Not Thee

Another day, another loony tunes liberal going bat guano insane over a subject, followed by knowledge that said moonbat is a hypocrite

(Weekly Standard) David Gregory mocked the NRA’s Wayne LaPierre for proposing that armed guards be at every school in America. But the NBC host seems to have no problem with armed guards protecting his kids everyday where they attend school in Washington, D.C.

Gregory went on a long rant about armed guards not being the solution to protecting schoolkids from crazy people bent on killing kids.

But when it comes to Gregory’s own kids, however, they are secured every school day by armed guards.

The Gregory children go to school with the children of President Barack Obama, according to the Washington Post. That school is the co-ed Quaker school Sidwell Friends.

According to a scan of the school’s online faculty-staff directory, Sidwell has a security department made up of at least 11 people. Many of those are police officers, who are presumably armed.

Moreover, with the Obama kids in attendance, there is a secret service presence at the institution, as well.

Um, oops? In fact, Sidwell Friends hires people with Special Police Officer licenses as security. Why require an SPO license? Because the District of Columbia requires that any security guard that is going to carry a handgun be licensed as an SPO (except when working at a federal building, but the weapon may not leave the premises).

So, there you go, yet another unhinged and hypocritical liberal. Perhaps this explains why Obama really hasn’t jumped into the debate about having armed guards and/or armed teachers in schools: he knows his kids receive armed protection and their school has armed SPOs.

Guns are here. You can take them out of the hands of law abiding citizens, and what you will be left with are criminals ready to attack the sheep.

Teach please tell us what percentage of schoold already have a police man I read 70% already have one. Usuakky just to control traffic but there none the less.

  2. gitarcarver says:

So John, you think the shooting at Newtown occurred when there was a cop there directing traffic? Or shortly thereafter?

Tell me what world do you live in that thinks a cop directing traffic for an hour a day is the same thing as a cop on campus all day?

The stupidity of your positions continues to amaze.

  3. john says:

These schools do NOT allow any other guns to be brought to school. And Teach I don’t see or hear an outcry from the parents at Newtown demanding more guns. They seem to want fewer guns, especially less from people who obviously should not have them.

And that law stopped Adam Lanza, didn’t it, John?

The fact of the matter is that of the mass murders over the last 50 years using a gun, all but one (the Gabby Giffords shooting) took place in a “gun free” zone.

“Gun free” zones create victims, John.

As for Newtown residents, one has to wonder if Lanza had been stopped by a trained teacher with a concealed weapon permit how the parents would have felt then.

Instead of 26 victims and no way to fight back, the result could have been and most likely would have been different if teachers and staff were allowed to carry a weapon.

It took 20 minutes for the Newtown Police to arrive on scene, John. TWENTY FRIGGIN’ MINUTES in which a wolf was amongst the defenseless sheep.

You and people of your ilk don’t want an honest discussion on gun control because the facts are all aligned against you. All you have is hyperbole and rhetoric.

You aren’t interested in solving problems. As we continually see, you and your liberal, progressive buddies are only interested in policies that create more problems and in the case of Aurora, Newtown, etc, more victims.

    Shame on you.

(Of course that would mean that you are capable of shame and have a moral compass, which is doubtful.)

  5. John, please tell us if Gregory is a hypocrite or not.

Oh, and typically schools that have security, including police, are unarmed.

Having armed security in schools won’t necessarily stop nutjobs, but, it certainly can’t hurt.
