Romney Says Obama’s “Angry And Desperate”

We’ve known this for quite a long time, Mitt. We also know Obama is sleazy, un-presidential, and a disgrace…oh, you’re going to get to that? Gotcha

(Washington Post) Mitt Romney lashed out at President Obama with some of the harshest rhetoric of his campaign at a Tuesday night rally here, accusing Obama of leveling “wild and reckless accusations that disgrace the office of the presidency.”

The already divisive presidential contest took on an even uglier tone after Romney seized on the latest campaign-trail skirmish — a comment at a Virginia rally by Vice President Biden that Romney’s plans to loosen Wall Street regulations would “put y’all back in chains” — to go after his opponents.

Divisive? The majority of the nasty language is coming from the Obama camp, partly because Obama has nothing positive in his record to talk about, and partly because that’s simply the way Democrats act.

“This is what an angry and desperate presidency looks like. President Obama knows better, promised better, and America deserves better,” Romney told a roaring crowd of about 5,000 supporters in Chillicothe. “His campaign strategy is to smash America apart and then try to cobble together 51 percent of the pieces. If an American president wins that way, we all lose.”

Romney added, “Mr. President, take your campaign of division and anger and hate back to Chicago and let us get about rebuilding and reuniting America.”

One thing you have to admire about Romney: unlike McCain and Bush 43, he fights back, and he’s able to fight back without getting in the gutter. While negative campaigning has been shown to work, there comes a point where the voters realize that one person is a major league scumbag, particularly when the other refuses to get down in the gutter and is calling for civility, or at least as much as can be expected in politics. Come September, the negativity and all-around sleaziness of the Obama campaign will backfire.

  1. john says:

Teach all the pre election electoral vote counts have Obama far in the lead. Romney’s VP pick gives him no help, Romney will not even win the state his VP is from

  2. david7134 says:

    john,
the election will be a rout

then obama is back to chicago or wherever scum floats

  3. david7134 says:

    and john,
are you prepared for what will happen if the big o wins?

  4. gitarcarver says:

Only john would think a 2 vote lead in the electoral college is “far in the lead.”

By the way, john, perhaps you missed that Wisconsin in now up for grabs. You may remember that the polls thought the recall race for Walker was going to be close. How did that turn out for you?

You also may have missed that Ohio is far more in play than it was now as that state appears to be moving in Romney’s direction.

The problem you have john is 1) the numbers don’t match what you say and 2) there is movement in the numbers and none of it is toward Obama.

The next big “bump” is always from the conventions. The Republicans are energized and looking forward to presenting their case to the people. The Democrats are staying away from their convention.

Obama will attack Romney instead of running on his record. He can’t run on his record which is not good for an incumbent. So the choice will be for many people “attacks” or “a real plan.”

I wonder which one they are going to vote for?

Yeah, the race only gets ugly when the Repubs respond to the attacks.

However, calling out the media’s messiah as a liar, disgusting, and a low-life might draw a bit of criticism from the DSMP acolytes.

  6. John’s just hoping against hope that his master Obama will somehow squeak out a win. Not sure why, other than to say there is a Dem in the White House. Surely even John knows that Obama is bad for America.

  7. Gumball_Brains says:

john is just a typical socialist lackey. He fits the democrat profile to a tee.

They believe, that since he is the president, and that he is the 2nd black president, then he can only be truthful as he was sent by god to bring us to the light of socialism’s greatness.

(sorry, barfed up there a bit)

A sound and reasonable person looks at both sides, especially his own party, and details all the pro’s and con’s. For example, I am not all that happy that Ryan voted for TARP. I am really hoping he learned his lesson. I really don’t like Romney’s squishy NE’stern way of thinking and his big push for mandated health care.

However, if you dig deeper in to the foundational underpinnings of those representing the R party vs those representing the S party, there can’t be any more glaring difference between them in their view on the role and size of government.

  8. A.Men says:

even Blacks know what a scumbag olamao is! He has scorn for the Blacks in his back pocket — they’ll vote for him no matter what it costs them!!!!!

  9. Questionman says:

That’s funny. Because Calling the POTUS a POS and a fraud seems to the the usual calling call for you right-wing racists and bigots like you!

And, following the script, the racist right, while putting out lie after lie, claims Barack Obama is a liar. While attacking his character like people who attack character, they weep and cry foul over perceived attacks on their character. And claim angelic high ground.

What is it with these teabaggers and their eliminationist rhetoric against President Barack Obama? They don’t even attempt to pretend that they are not racists any longer.

Look how he has been treated by the GOP/baggers. He’s been called every name in the book including muslim, socialist, marxist, anti-American, racist, Odumma, etc. President Obama is a very intelligent man, he knows anytime a rethug even attempts to say what he is doing wrong, he should continue.

And for Republicans to say such talk disgraces the office of the Presidency is itself a disgrace, especially when one considers what Republicans have said about the President, strongly suggesting he is un- or anti-American.

They know Obama is not a Muslim, socialist, communist, Marxist, radical. They just don’t care.

The legion of websites, bloggers, talk show jocks, and the occasional GOP official that has teed off on President Obama and at times Michelle Obama with assorted borderline racist digs, taunts, and depictions have been relentless. The offensive remarks quickly evoke a storm of outrage, and the offender gets rebuked. This happens because they are public figures, and their comments are publicly aired. They fly high on the public’s radar scope.

I prefer to think that this president, like every other president, is wekll aware of the constitution that he swore to uphold and is not a traitor, despite the claims and concerns of many on this forum. They make medication for paranoia. To call a sitting president a traitor is scummy!

So much so that his many accomplishments get lost in the caricature, as the right insists that he is not up to the job, or worse, a disgrace to the office. This, from the people who have so little regard for the people for who they purport. This, from those who have presented Paul Ryan as a shiny new penny to reinvigorate their base, since the top of the ticket has left everyone far less than vigorated. The Christian right who feel so strongly that there should be a partnership between church and state, yet throw their support behind a Mormon and a Catholic who worships an atheist. Because the news told them that their Christian President is a Muslim.

Romney has disgraced himself with nearly-uncontrollable lying, so he’s accusing Obama of being a disgrace. Romney is lashing out angrily, so he’s accusing Obama of being angry. Romney will do anything to win, so he’s accusing Obama of being willing to do anything to win. Romney is running a sleazy, substance-less, integrity-free campaign, so he’s accusing Obama of taking the campaign into the gutter!

Obama is anything but a Socialist. He stands to the Right of Eisenhower and is trying very hard to save American Capitalism from its own stupidity. the racist right call Obama a marxist, a socialist, a Communist, a muslim because they can’t call him a Ni@@er! That’s what they mean! They can’t stand having a black in office. that this the cold hard truth!

  10. Gumball_Brains says:

Ok. I lost you after the 3rd paragraph sentence thing you tried there.

Really? Calling someone a liar is similar of an attack as calling someone a muslim or socialist?

    woh.

I guess you have not heard that Romney was called a felon, a tax cheat, a money-launderer, a tax evader, and a murderer.

But then, it doesn’t pay to argue with idiots.

  11. I was reading the comment on my phone at the gym, and realized that I wasn’t actually moving my legs anymore on the machine, just astounded by the insanity. Gotta love that Questionman decries being mean to Obama, but has no problem throwing around all sorts of nasty language himself.

Plus, all sorts of defenses of Obama without actually providing pesky facts.
