New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie formally announced that he wasnâ€™t going to join the presidential race on Tuesday, saying heâ€™d come back to his original feeling about staying out despite reconsidering in recent days.

â€œIn the end, what Iâ€™ve always felt was the right decision remains the right decision today. Now is not my time. I have a commitment to the people of New Jersey that I simply will not abandon,â€ Christie said, speaking to reporters in Trenton. â€œPeople sent me to Trenton to get a job done, and Iâ€™m just not prepared to walk away.â€
