Earth’s current warming trend could bring deadly heat for humans.
A new study that looked at reasonable worst-case scenarios for global warming found that if greenhouse gases continue to be emitted at their current rate, temperatures could become deadly in coming centuries.
Researchers calculated the highest tolerable “wet-bulb” temperature – equivalent to what is felt when wet skin is exposed to moving air – and found that this temperature could be exceeded for the first time in human history if greenhouse gas emissions continue at their current rate and future climate models are correct. Temperatures this unbearable for humans haven’t been seen during the existence of hominids – the primate family that includes ancient humans – but they did occur about 50 million years ago.
Exposure to wet-bulb temperatures above 95 degrees for six hours or more will create lethal stress levels in humans and other mammals, said study team member Matthew Huber of Purdue University’s earth and atmospheric sciences.
You know, back in college I had a really good friend who was a really good guy. In grad school, he, myself, and a couple other guys were renting a house on a really good corner in the city. Then he started drinking too much too often, and pretty much made it so no one would stop by. Girls didn’t even want to walk or ride their bikes past the house. I have long believe that today’s liberals and their fellow travelers suffer from an educational deficit that includes the stories of “Chicken Little” and “The Princess and the Pea”.
As to the former, if it scares or effects them, it’s the end of the world as we know it. As to the latter, no matter how much a problem situation is improved, the underlying problem never goes away.
Well then, it is a good thing the 1.5-3 degree-warmer MWP was not over the top. Nor the warmer Roman Warm Period. And Especially not the Holocene Optimum, which was warmer than both of those and Much warmer than the Earth is going to get in the next 100 years.

As for the Holocene NOAA has a whole page on this In summary, the mid-Holocene, roughly 6,000 years ago, was generally warmer than today, but only in summer and only in the northern hemisphere. More over, we clearly know the cause of this natural warming, and know without doubt that this proven “astronomical” climate forcing mechanism cannot be responsible for the warming over the last 100 years.
For the past 12 years we have experienced a very long cool dim Sun, however the temps keep going up/Teach may have gotten a bit hysterical over the deep snow in Washington this past winter, but giddy as he was he never said that DC was experiencing abnormally LOW temps. Just abnormally high amounts pf precipitation and as we all remember from 9th grade Earth Science warmer air can hold more moisture than cold air.
I call bull on the report. I just spent last summer in an enviroment where having the wet bulb at a mere 95 would have been great. It dipped below that at night but climbed as soon as the sun hit the horizon.
Teach would orelations between belief in climate change and educational level achieved ? How do you think that they may be releated ? Would you think that people with say post grad degrees would be more or less likely than others to believe in climate change ?

Frankly, it doesn’t matter who believes what. What does matter is truth. As we have seen time and time again, AGW proponents have felt the need to lie, exaggerate and deceive to try and make their “case.”
You may think that having more people with post grad degrees believe in AGW means something.
