Raleigh Police officers have arrested the driver of the first vehicle to strike Lewis Gray as he walked across Falls of Neuse Road.

Carlos David Rodriguez-Bautista, 34, was arrested Friday morning.

The suspect has been charged with felony hit and run and was placed in the Wake County Jail under an $8,000 bond. An official at the Wake County Jail said an immigration detainer has also been placed on the suspect.

Rarely are immigration detainers placed on a subject unless they really think the person is an illegal. Background on the hit and run here. Another man with a Hispanic name, could be legal, was also arrested for hit and run. Illegals just killing Americans that Americans won’t.
