“What we have learned over this year is that hope is making a comeback. It is making a comeback and let me tell you something, For the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country. And not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change. I have been desperate to see our country moving in that direction and just not feeling so alone in my frustration and disappointment. I have seen people who are hungry to be unified around some basic common issues. It has made me proud.”

Wonderful. In true Progressive fashion, love of country only comes with strings attached. Like most Progressives, she is only happy that there is a potential for a radical change in this country.

Can I question her patriotism yet? She wants to be first lady, and she has never been proud of her country. How sad.

The wife of a candidate who refuses to wear an American flag lapel pin, regularly slouches insouciantly during the playing of the Star Spangled Banner and tepidly comments that posters of Che Guevara and the Communist Cuban flag  hanging at his campaign offices are “inappropriate” might want to consider whether her remarks might feed a rather unappealing narrative regarding the degree of the Senator’s, um, patriotic fervor.
