I Love Dreamhost

An eight hour planned outage while moving one server turned into over 12 on seemingly all servers. No status messages, no updates, nothing.

Fuckwits.

Most of the saved posts I had are gone, too. All but one. Everything else looks OK, though.

eh, Beth has been having trouble at MVRWC and I think she’s on Blogs About. Maybe it’s a conspiracy?

I started to go with Dreamhost but then figured I’d stick with GoDaddy for the time being since I know their system. Once the blog gets some traffic I’ll start to think about moving it. But I guess not to Dreamhost. LOL!

  2. I am checking with 2 other WordPress hosts that do auto installs. Want to know if they do auto-upgrades and a few other things.

The thing that sucks is I literally just paid for a year of hosting on the 7th.

Yeah, you’ll only make that mistake once. Personally, I’ll never pay more than 3 months in advance for hosting again (no matter what kind of discount is offered). I learned my lesson on that one with some outfit that took me for 6 month worth of “premium” hosting and then a few days later shut down no warning at all. Pffft.

  5. They’d been pretty good, a few ugly downtimes now and then. I think what was the worst was that they did not let anyone know any updates.
