The Goracle Loves Sea Bass

Particularly Chilean

(Daily Telegraph) ONLY one week after Live Earth, Al Gore’s green credentials slipped while hosting his daughter’s wedding in Beverly Hills.

Gore and his guests at the weekend ceremony dined on Chilean sea bass – arguably one of the world’s most threatened fish species.

Also known as Patagonian toothfish, the species is under pressure from illegal, unregulated and unreported fishing activities in the Southern Ocean, jeopardising the sustainability of remaining stocks.

Bad Goracle!!

Say, whatever happened to that Live Earth thang? Wasn’t the idea to "trigger a global movement to solve the climate crisis"? How’s the traction on that? It’s kinda disappeared from the news. No mentions over at the DU, HuffPost, Kos, etc.

It’s funny, as there really hasn’t been that much news regarding "climate change" in the news post-Live Earth, either.

As I have stated many times, the whole global warming as caused by Man debate detracts focus from real environmental issues, ones that we can do something about, such as over fishing and species destruction by Man. Yes, some species go away on their own. Sometimes, it is our fault. CO2? Bah! Silly debate. Clean air, water, land, clear cutting, pollution, species destruction. Those are some of the environmental issues that we should be focused on.

Anyhow, did Gore buy his endangered species offsets yet?

The Beverly Hills Hotel where he ate has reported that ALL of their fish comes from suppliers that are accredited by the Marine Conservation Association and that all of their fish are harvested using environmentally sound practices designed to be self sustaining. Before you jump on the tabloid press perhaps you should take a second look.

  4. Doesn’t matter, John. They are an endangered species. If tiger was raised the same way, would you approve of eating it?

When I think of losers Blackbeard, John Ryan comes to mind, then the Phillies 10,000 losses, then the Philly Eagles never winning an NFL Superbowl over the last 41 years, and the CNN and Hollyweirdo loonies! Cheers to LOSERS!
