The Plame Thing is Still Around?

Yup. The Demaloons are still taking an interest in an investigation into, well, nothing. No crime committed in "outing" Valerie Plame as a CIA agent employee. Yet, on the most overrated blog, which also happens to have the most open thread (which y’all must read: pure idiocy), Atrios writes:

According to CNN both Luskin and Viveca Novak will be testifying next week. At issue appears to be the fact that Fitzgerald "misinterpreted" (uhh) and thought that a conversation between Luskin and Novak actually happened between Rove and Novak.

Plameologists, go…

and links to this transcript at CNN. From reading it all, seems to be, as usual in the Plame case, much ado about nothing.

Now, I am not a lawyer. Just a citizen of the USA. And, as has been said so many times by so many people, shouldn’t Fitgerald have ascertained whether a crime had been committed in the first place? After 2 years, no one has been charged with a crime relating to the purpose of the Grand Jury investigation. We have yet to hear from Fitzpatrick whether a crime actually occured in outing Plame. Yet this travesty of justice is continuing, wasting time and money.

Rove, the president’s top political aide, remains under investigation into whether he made false statements for initially failing to tell the FBI and the grand jury that he had spoken to Cooper for a story Cooper wrote on the case.

But not for leaking Plame’s name in violation of any law. Interesting. Everyone should send an email or letter to the Department of Justice, asking them whether a crime was actually committed in outing Plame, or whether this is just a wild goose chase.
