Sam Alito: Bush Chose Wisely

Remember that scene from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade with the Knight Templar, when they were trying to choose the Holy Grail? The first guy picked a bad one, and the Knight said "He chose…poorly." That was Harriet Miers. Well, with Alito, Bush "chose wisely." We know this because several prominent Senate Leftings are having their normal hissy fits.

New York’s "junior (read ignored) Senate critter Charles Schumer whined:

"Anyone who thinks that this nomination is a foregone conclusion is sadly mistaken."

"There are too many questions still to be answered, too many doubts still to be alleviated to say that this nomination is a slam dunk."

He continued: "In case after case after case, Judge Alito gives the impression of applying meticulous legal reasoning, but each time he happens to reach the most conservative result," said Schumer.

"Judge Alito seems to find a way to rule on the side of business over the consumer; on the side of the employer over the employee; and often against civil rights, against workers rights, against women’s rights," the New York Democrat said.

Waaaaa! "Please stop paying attention to Hillary, and LISTEN to me!"

How about Dingy Harry?

"A picture of Sam Alito is emerging that may explain why the extreme right-wing is popping champagne corks," said Reid. Alito, he said, is "one of the most conservative federal judges in the country."

And The Drunk?

"They were certain that Judge Alito passed their ideological test. They embraced him immediately, then moved in lock step with the White House to support and defend him," Kennedy said.

"On key issues of equal rights, fairness, and access to justice, he has repeatedly found ways to keep people from vindicating their rights, obtaining remedies, and protecting themselves from government invasions of their privacy," Kennedy said.

On Tuesday, documents made public from Alito’s 1985 application for a Justice Department job in the Ronald Reagan administration also showed Alito to be "a dedicated right-wing advocate," said Kennedy.

Imagine, a GOP President picking a Right WIng person for the Court. Boggles the mind. Of course, I suppose that Kennedy would prefer more Ginsburgs, so that the age of consent could be lowered to 12, and abortions for all!

The nerve of Bush picking a qualified White Guy….Oh the humanity!

Is there nothing better than watching the libs squirm???

You know you use the term Liberals very loosely and unresponsibly. If choosing Alito to the Supreme Courts means Gays and Lesbians won’t be able to have Civil Unions, then screw you. Civil Unions or Gay Marriage WILL happen and that is a Liberal view or a Conservative view depending on how you look at it. If it means choosing Alito means don’t make people say “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas” or “Happy Hanukah” then I agree Alito is good for the job.
