It is now 10 days since since the Air Deadbeat story broke (via Bore America), and it continues to not only get worse for them, but it continues to be covered by the right of center blogs.
Michelle Malkin links to a story in today’s New York Post, which shows that Air Deadbeat has started putting money in an escrow account, but only $50K. The NYC investigators recommended putting the whole $850K in the account.
I wonder which Liberal big wig (who hasn’t rebuffed Bush’s tax cuts (snicker)) will give AD the money to put into the account? AD can barely afford to pay their employees.
Finally, the NY State Attorney General, Elliot Spitzer, has become involved, but it seems like he is going to investigate only Gloria Wise at this time. Don’t forget to focus on AD, Elliot!
So far, the NY Post and NY Sun seems to be about the only news sites carrying the story. Weirdly enough, the stories by US News and World Report and the Investor’s Business Daily were either buried or not on Yahoo News the day they were published. They are now.
The MSM’s may not be covering this (where are you, Grey Lady?), but it isn’t dying in the right-o-sphere. Unlike the left-o-sphere, we do not have a flavor of the day, move on quickly. Whatever happened to Ohio 2004, Abu Ghraid, G’itmo, the DSM, Gannon, Rovegate? All those issues which were going to “take Bush down.” In some cases, the lefties whined for a month or so, then moved on, but it was either hysterical or transient posts. Even Roberts seems to have cooled in the left-o-sphere. The blogburst to get Kerry to sign his 180’s is still going strong. The Stop the ACLU blogburst is going on, what, week 19? And look at all the Carnivals which are right-o-sphere dominated. The only story that the lefties stick with is how much they hate our troops, and they post with glee any negative story, especially body counts.

Saw this early this morning, but been a bit busy.
School board member Jackie Wagstaff launched her campaign for mayor Thursday, joining two City Council candidates in calls for the abolition of local board of education elections and the seizure of vacant houses for redistribution to the poor.
"The school board is ineffective and should be dissolved," Wagstaff said, shortly after filing the required forms at the Durham County Board of Elections. Wagstaff has served on the school board since 2002, but she is now setting her sights on the job of two-term Mayor Bill Bell.
You mean the school board you have been a part of since 2002 is ineffective? How about that. Maybe with you gone, it will get better. Might one wonder why? According to the N&O:
In 2002, Wagstaff survived an effort to remove her from the school board after she pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts for doctoring city check requests from North East Central Durham Reinvestment Inc., a city-financed social services organization she ran. She blamed the media for bringing up the incident, which she said was blown out of proportion.
So it is the media’s fault that she broke the law? Please. But, hey, how about more (from 2003)?
In January, Wagstaff was ordered to pay misdemeanor fines, stemming from those charges. She missed the payment deadline. A warrant was issued for failing to comply, but Wagstaff was not arrested. A new court date is set for March 28.
Meanwhile, the Durham Herald-Sun reports Wagstaff’s landlord filed court papers to evict her, saying she owes nearly $3,000 in back rent and fees.
and, from January, 2005
Shepard Middle School Principal Julia Fairley called police Jan. 14 after school-board member Jackie Wagstaff and a Shepard parent, Minnie Brown, refused to leave the school when asked. In a letter, she accuses the women of interrupting class to interrogate students and parents.
Wagstaff and the parent were both banned from the school. Wagstaff is also a major race baiter, and, to put it correctly, a racist. She has consistently made negative remarks about whites. If the roles were reversed, the local media would have coniption fits.
Unfortunately, based on the voting habits in Durham, she has a good shot of winning. Shades of Marion Berry. Almost.

In case you missed it, Michelle Malkin was on Fox and Friends this AM, paired with Democratic strategist Bob Beckel (does CNN, cBS, ABC, et all pair opposing political views?) regarding the New York Times investigating the adoption process of John Roberts children. (Michelle has more on her blog)
As Bob said, he was going to make it short, since he saw it as despicable. Glad to see one Democratic big wig has his brain here on earth.
There are lots of kids who need to be adopted. Even if the Roberts’ pulled some fast ones to do it, they should be thanked and celebrated for giving those kids a home. Adoption is a very difficult process, as one of my favorite bloggers has said (I do not know where that stands, so I shan’t mention who).
And, BTW, I was adopted.
Just to add more volitile fuel to the fire, regarding the Blogwar at Steal The Bandwagon, La Shawn, I’ll see your Mortal Human (1613), and raise you:

That’s 2761 links for everyone who tracked back, and including Jeff, who I believe I can add in. If I added all the others who commented on Jody’s side on her blog and the others (who I didn’t want to presume to speak for), that would add more links, plus our teeth are much sharper then a humans. Especially the marsupials. They’re faaaaasssst!

From WRAL:
Harnett County authorities said a tractor-trailer carrying chickens overturned in the town of Coats.
The accident happened around 6:30 a.m. Thursday on N.C. 27 near Ebenezer Church Road.
Authorities say the truck was carrying about 300 chickens.
I’m sure the Kosbats would have a sardonic field day with this. Me, I’ll have one with this
Senator and gubernatorial candidate Jon S. Corzine loaned the president of New Jersey’s largest state workers union $470,000 when the two were romantically involved three years ago, then forgave the debt last year.
Lefties sure like their "loans," don’t they? Just ask Air Deadbeat. Michelle Malkin has more on Air America Enron.

Folks, not to sound "I told you so," but recently, the Dept of Homeland Security did a round up of gang members living in the US, primarily looking for MS-13, Mara Salvatrucha.
Federal immigration agents in three regions of North Carolina have arrested 77 people in recent weeks who were suspected of being gang members living illegally in the United States.
Arrests in Raleigh were higher than the number in much larger cities _ 23 in Los Angeles and 19 in New York. Local police worked with federal agents in the operation.
Raleigh had 59. So what does this have to do with the ACLU? I previously posted here and here about the ACLU opposing a curfew in the town of Knightdale, NC, which is right outside of Raleigh. The curfew was designed to lower teenage gang related violence. Lot’s of hispanics are moving into the outer areas of Raleigh, including Knightdale, as well as being in the cities, both Raleigh and Durham.
Speaking of the ACLU blocking all attempts to protect ourselves from danger, now they are filing a lawsuit against the completely random (meaning worthless) searches for the New York City subway. Thanks! Jerks.
For more on today’s Stop the ACLU blogburst, go to Stop the ACLU, and check other folks on my left hand sidebar.

I reckon Teach had his say into Air America Deadbeat and their thieving, treacherous ways, not it’s my turn. Thanks to AD and Evan Cohen, the Gloria Wise Boys and Girls Club is pretty much toast (along with Pathways). So those poor minority kids, which Dems always seem to mention, then hurt, are out of a nice program, along with others. And Air Deadbeat is hemming and hawing over repayment of what looks to be illegal loans.
Michelle Malkin has an article up at World Net Daily, wondering where other Dems are:
Where are they? Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are the supermen of the civil-rights establishment – able to leap tall buildings in a single bound to get in front of a picket line. When victim politics calls, the demagogic duo leap into patented action: March. Boycott. Shakedown. Repeat.
But the raging reverends are nowhere to be found as a scandal involving the liberal radio network Air America and a Bronx, N.Y.-based inner city charity for poor children brews. Why the silence?
(snip)
If a conservative radio network had been entangled in a scam to steal from black children to line the pockets of wealthy white con artists, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton would already be staging hunger strikes in protest. But both have hefty political and financial stakes in Air America’s success – and the big mouths aren’t about to badmouth their friends.
Where is the outrage from the Left? No one seems to care on that side. Matter of fact, they mostly ignore this story. And the New York Post has a story entitled "Pay Up, Lefties!" (reg req’d)

Good Morning, Y’all! It is simply amazing that the Dems can spin an election loss somehow into a win. Jean Schmidt (R) beat Paul Hacket (Very D) in a special election in Ohio’s 2nd District yesterday by 52% to 48%. Vote tallies were 57,974 to 54,401. But somehow, this is a win for the Dems. LOL. First, Hackett throws a slur at Southern Ohio (what else can a Dem do but make slurs? Hackett’s whole campaign was mud)
"For the first time in almost 40 years democracy has succeeded in southern Ohio," Hackett told his supporters. "We as Democrats demonstrated what we can do when we put our heads together and roll up our sleeves."
Isn’t that sweet. Asshat. Will he next claim that there was Republican fraud? Here comes the "we won part."
"Democracy won. We won. The voters won in the Second District won because we gave them a choice. Whenever Americans have a choice, democracy is a benefactor," Hackett said, "and we gave that to them."
And from another Dem:
"There’s no safe Republican district. You can run, but you cannot hide," said U.S. Rep. Rahm Emmanuel of Illinois, chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
Ummm, sure. There’s spin, then there’s spin. See the Koolaid kids at Kosbat for me seething.
Let me put it this way. 112,375 people voted Tuesday. 308,941 voted on 11/2/04. Only 36% of the number of people who voted on 11/2 voted yesterday. Who knows what the voting patterns were. Maybe the Dems did a better job of getting out the vote. Nationally, the Dems were the only ones who cared. And Republicans tend to take vacations in the summer, instead of protesting and filling out petitions like Dems.
The Dems think that this is some test case. Delusional. I reckon I could go on, but, to what point? This was one District in Ohio, and, guess what Dems? The GOP won. Again.
Update: Michelle Malkin links to TPM Cafe, where the conspiracy theories have started.
