Here we go, another “snow is just a thing of the past”, as written by Warmist Sonya Diehn
Opinion: White winters another victim of climate changeI remember well my first winter in Germany: it was cold, so cold. Living in Leipzig at the time, I was astounded to see people skiing along the forest path on the stretch of park I typically biked through to get downtown.
My second German winter was also harsh. By then in Bonn, I established my own personal limit of 0 degrees Celsius for bike-riding.
Since I am originally from the desert of southern Arizona, German winters took some getting used to.
I was enchanted with how snow transformed the drab surroundings into a “winter wonderland.” One of my friends in Bonn had become a sledding enthusiast – she had so much fun, that I bought myself a used sled that spring at a flea market.
But the snow hasn’t come again.
It’s now three years in a row that snow hasn’t stuck on the ground here in Bonn for more than a few hours.
Not really. Seems her memory is a bit off. Perhaps she should read her own paper. There are other sources for snowfall over the past three winters. Europe overall has seen much harsher winters over the past 7 years. But, hey, maybe there hasn’t been as much snow, but Germans have been forced to rely on wood pellets and heater stoves over the past few very cold winters to heat their homes, living like it’s 1499, because of Warmist governmental “green” rules.
In many places around the world, this winter is on track to be the warmest on record. Globally, the winter before had been the warmest on record until this year.
And next year could continue to break records – because the planet is warming. Since pre-industrial times, average global temperature has increased by about a degree Celsius.
Two important points. A miniscule rise of around 1.5F is small, compared to previous Holocene warm periods. Second, nothing she writes proves anthropogenic causation. And that is where the rubber meets the road. If you cannot prove the hypothesis, it means nothing, other than that some people are overly hysterical.
Last week, while covering the climate summit in Paris, at one point I was struck with the absurdity: How can people negotiate the temperature of the planet?
Yeah, that’s my thought too, but, in a different way.
Negotiating the climate is not only absurd, it’s astoundingly arrogant. Innumerable species and human lives hang in the balance. If the global community were to truly take responsibility, we’d stop burning fossil fuels this very moment.
Maybe someday I will relate to my grandchildren what snow was like.

Sorry about your cult. Be a real shame if something happened to it (via Climate Depot)
(kenskingdom) UAH v6.0 (University of Alabama Huntsville satellite) data for November were released a couple of days ago. Here are updated graphs for various regions showing the furthest back one can go to show a zero or negative trend (less than +0.01C/ 100 years) in lower tropospheric temperatures. For the second month of the climb towards the El Nino peak, there is still NO pause in the Northern Hemisphere trend. However, in some regions the pause has lengthened. Note: The satellite record commences in December 1978. The entire satellite record is now 37 years long- 444 months.
The chart, which you can see at either link (I’m doing this post on smartphone), shows a zero trend going back 18 years and 6 months for overall warming, though it does look like there will be some warming in the coming months, thanks to the El Nino conditions. I know, I know, Warmists will screech about “cherry picking”, since they obviously a) have no idea that the data is working backwards from current time (Skeptics will understand that there was warming going from about 1979-1996), or b) intentionally obtuse and deceitful in decrying the actual data.
Here’s where it gets really fun. For the North Polar region, there is a zero or negative trend for the last 13 years and 10 months.
The South Pole? A whopping 37 years of zero or negative trend. 37 years. Let’s not forget, we were originally told that satellites were the best available way to measure warming. Which still wouldn’t prove anthropogenic causation, but, hey, they thought they had something going. Then, the actual data from the satellites failed to comply.

Another day, another demand by the Cult of Climastrology. Remember, these are people who somehow believe that mandating companies comply and join in on carbon credit and tax and cap schemes run by government as “free market principles”. Now we see, as written by Mika Anttone, Founder and Chair of Finnish energy company St1 (I wonder if he has a financial stake in pushing this?)
IOS Is The Answer To The Climate-Change Conundrum
During the next 20 years, global demand for energy will grow by approximately 30%. The two main reasons for this are the continuously high population growth rate and the raising of the standard of living in developing countries. Today, about 80% of the world’s primary energy is generated from fossil fuels (oil, gas and coal). Because the known energy investments used to satisfy the global demand for energy will not change the current energy production structure, the CO2 emissions will continue to grow at the same rate as the demand for energy. This is a fact that must be recognized and acknowledged in climate policy so that we can find the correct means to achieve sustainable development.
So, what to do, what to do
The majority of the world’s population — about four billion people — is living on less than five euros a day. In the global economic system, their quest to raise their standard of living cannot be prevented. Instead, we can develop new sustainable means to produce energy so that raising the standard of living of these people is not solely based on the utilization of fossil energy. The work to reduce population growth must be set as a priority for international cooperation. The single most effective measure is to improve the position of women in developing economies.
Funny how Warmists so often promote limiting population in 3rd World nations.
Regarding the production of renewable energy, we must utilize research and development to discover entirely new solutions that enable replacing fossil fuels at a sufficient scale. This goal can be achieved only if the largest companies of the world are fully committed to participate in this work and use their resources in the best possible way. Because adequate levels of research and development efforts cannot be reached voluntarily, an Investment Obligation System (IOS) for renewable energy is required. Global system should be ultimate goal, but realistically, an area like the EU could be a reasonable start.
Every company producing or selling fossil energy in the EU has to comply with IOS. In cases where the same fossil energy is sold multiple times in the value chain, IOS applies only to the first company in the chain, thus ensuring actual investments in production capacity. IOS governs companies not Member States. The base level for IOS is the annual average amount of fossil energy to be produced or sold by a company during 2018-2020.
And there it is: a government dominated and run economy to uphold the principles of the Hotcoldwetdry crowd. Some would call this Socialism, and, if we look at the primary tenant of the political model, it would be, especially if the Government also owns much of the means of production. We could call it Communism. Not the political theory type, but the type in practice by many countries, and previous ones like the USSR. How’d that work out, including for real environmental concerns. Many would term this Fascism, with all private entities working for and controlled by government. Regardless, this is all a scheme to increase the power of government, using the manufactured notion of anthropogenic climate change as one of the rationales.
Companies that do not comply will face stiff penalties. The article notes that “The penalty level should be sufficient enough to force the company out of business.” So, not only will Government mandate compliance with all Cult of Climastrology beliefs, but should be driven out of business by government for having the wrong thoughts. Naomi Klein and a few other Warmists have been among the minority in saying that the entire world economic system needs to be changed away from capitalism in order to solve ‘climate change’. More and more are coming forth with their, let’s just refer to them as a command economy, beliefs.

Others and myself often wonder “where are the moderate Muslims?” in the wake of terrorist attacks. We know they’re out there. But, they seem to be outnumbered by those who celebrate attacks and/or those who say “this has nothing to do with Islam”. But, so few seem to denounce the actions of hardcore Islam. Here’s a group which isn’t hiding
(Fox News) In the days following the Dec. 2 attack in San Bernardino, Council for American-Islamic Relations representatives partially blamed U.S. policy for terrorist attacks, accused gunman Syed Rizwan Farook’s co-workers of making fun of his beard and sought to downplay comments by Farook’s father linking him to ISIS. Like Muslims throughout the U.S., CAIR officials condemned the attack, but too often with what sounded to critics like subtle caveats.
“CAIR is a primary obstacle in the effort of many honest American Muslims who recognize our need to own up and lead long-overdue reforms against the root causes of radicalization: Islamism and its separatism,†said Dr. Zuhdi Jasser, an ex-U.S. Navy officer who founded and heads the American Islamic Forum for Democracy.
Let’s not forget that CAIR is an un-indicted co-conspirator in providing material support to Hamas, a status that has been confirmed by the DOJ, which cut ties to CAIR, and federal courts.
For would-be reformers like Jasser, reclaiming the faith begins with taking back control of Islam’s image. He and other increasingly outspoken Muslim-Americans say true moderates must be honest and unequivocal in condemning acts of violence carried out in the name of Islam. Most of all, they are tired of the Washington-based nonprofit claiming to speak for them.
At it’s very roots, Islam is a violent political religion, based on the actions and words of Mohammad. The Quran itself promotes violence. But, that doesn’t mean that Muslims cannot, and have not, moved beyond the dictates of the Prophet Mohammad and his writings. Christianity had its own violent past, and, of course, there will always be nutjobs within any organization, some violent. Can Islam reduced the number of violent jihadis well below the 1% mark? More importantly, can they move beyond the calls for Sharia law, a caliphate, and its treatment of women and gays, among others? These hardcore attitudes seem to lead many Muslims down the path towards violence.
“CAIR’s information is marketed and packaged so it seems that they speak for all of us, but they don’t speak for me and my group,†said Raheel Raza, president of the Council for Muslims Facing Tomorrow. “CAIR does not and has never represented the majority Muslim voices which are as diverse as Muslims in America.â€
How would a group that is based on Muslim Brotherhood principles and supports terrorist groups be able to speak for all American Muslims?
Muslims Facing Tomorrow is one of more than a dozen moderate Islamic groups from the U.S., Canada and European countries that have joined the Muslim Reform Movement, an alliance put together by Jasser.
The Muslim Reform Movement rebukes violent jihad, advocates for a separation of “mosque and state,” and celebrates individual freedom, human rights and gender equality, and secular democracy, according to its founders, who also reject the idea of an Islamic State and its Sharia Law.
Sadly, this kind of information on these new groups hasn’t hit most mainstream media outlets yet. In fact, there are virtually no articles featuring any of these groups, other than Fox and a few conservative leaning news outlets. These are the types of groups that should be promoted, showing that there is more to Islam, giving Muslims an outlet other than turning radical. The group released a statement saying “We are in a battle for the soul of Islam, and an Islamic renewal must defeat the ideology of Islamism.” Good for them. I hope they succeed.

And we all trust the Establishment GOP to fight the good fight, right?
Republicans to Keep Trying to Block Obama’s International Climate Change Deal https://t.co/M6vUNfJp2D
— The Daily Signal (@DailySignal) December 16, 2015
From the link
Republicans upset with President Barack Obama’s international climate change agreement remain committed to the few options they have to do something about it.
“Honestly, I never feel helpless,†insisted Rep. Mike Kelly, R-Pa., one of the leaders in the House opposing Obama’s climate change plans.
“Whatever is going to happen today is going to happen today. This is a generational battle. If we think after one battle, one skirmish, we should throw in the towel, we are not leading the America that we have been entrusted with.â€
Way down in the article they note that the historic agreement is non-binding, voluntary, and has no force of law. All Republicans need to do is refuse to fund it….yeah, about that
(The Hill) In a victory for the Obama administration, the spending package released by congressional leaders on Wednesday won’t block American financial contributions to an international climate fund for poorer nations.
The bill, greens and Democrats say, doesn’t explicitly appropriate funding for President Obama’s pledged contribution to the Green Climate Fund (GCF). But since the legislation doesn’t formally block money for the GCF either, Obama is expected to be able to use current discretionary funding streams to send American money to it.
“Based on what we have reviewed so far, there are no restrictions on our ability to make good on the president’s pledge to contribute to the Green Climate Fund,†White House press secretary Josh Earnest said on Wednesday.
Fortunately, Obama will use the hard earned tax money of American’s that the GOP didn’t block to fund foolish, un-scientific ventures in other nations.
