Georgia Coastal Snow Totally Means Anthropogenic Climate Change

I’m almost tempted to touch on the new study for an even that only happened a few weeks ago that Blames ‘climate change’ for the California fires. It’s almost like they were ready to trot it out. How do you do a study that fast? And all the Credentialed Media are yapping about it. Anyhow

Coastal Georgia snow likely a result, not a refutation of climate change

Last year was a hot one in Georgia but last week’s snow is not evidence we’re headed in a different direction, Georgia scientists say.

“Overall, 2024 was the 2nd warmest year in Georgia on a record extending back to 1895,” Eleanor Partington, a climatologist in the Georgia State Climatology office wrote in the 2024 Climate Summary for Georgia.

“These above-average temperatures are likely due to climate change,” Partington wrote in an email to The Current. “Although year-to-year variation in temperatures can be a result of many variables, such as ENSO, 2024 fits within the multi-decade warming trend that is a result of climate change.” ENSO refers to the El Niño-Southern Oscillation, a recurring climate pattern involving changes in the temperature of waters in the central and eastern tropical Pacific Ocean that affects weather in large swaths of the U.S.

It’s great how they can essentially blow off long term Earth processes in favor of a cult, eh?

Given all that evidence of warming, how do scientists explain last week’s snow, ice and frigid weather in Coastal Georgia?

Marc Frischer , Professor of Marine Sciences at the University of Georgia, Skidaway Institute of Oceanography saw the snow and freezing temperatures as a “teachable moment.”

“With the extremely cold weather we had last week I was hearing comments from acquaintances (many folks that I play tennis with) about the hoax that climate change was,” he wrote in an email to The Current.

He posted to an explanation to Facebook.

“Your periodic reminder that less ice at the Arctic is consistent with a weaker jet stream that allows cold air to drift down into the Great Plains, the post reads. “The frigid temps you’re experiencing happen because of a warming planet, not despite it.”

Surprise: Biden Admin Knew About The Drones, Were For “Research Purposes”

‘This was not the enemy’: Trump White House says New Jersey drones authorized by FAA

Mysterious drones that hovered over parts of New Jersey late last year were authorized by the Federal Aviation Administration to be flown for research and other purposes and did not pose a national security threat, the White House said Tuesday.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said many of the drones spotted over New Jersey were also flown by hobbyists for recreational purposes.

“In time, it got worse because of curiosity. This was not the enemy,” Leavitt said at the top of her first formal press briefing during which she delivered an update she said came directly from President Donald Trump.

In December, before he was sworn in as president, Trump called for the public to “shoot down” the drones unless the federal government could inform the public on who was controlling them. Without evidence, Trump accused former President Joe Biden of withholding information about the drones from the public.

Well, guess what? Trump was 100 correct! Surprise! Pretty much everyone knew that the American people were not being told the truth. But, seriously, this was a big nothingburger that would have been so, so, so easy to tell the People the truth about. How hard would it have been to just say “all those big drones are ours and completely authorized, don’t worry about it. Enjoy watching them!” But, instead, what we got was obfuscation, misdirection, lying, gaslighting, telling the American people they were worry warts and conspiracy theorists.

And Trump was right. We were all right. You know, I wonder, did Biden do this on purpose? Because it made the Biden administration look really bad, and, guess who was a part of the Biden admin? That’s right, Kamala Harris. Which made Trump look good as he was standing up for the American people. Biden really did want Kamala to lose.

‘Doomsday Clock’ moves closer to midnight amid threats of climate change, nuclear war, pandemics, AI

Earth is moving closer to destruction, a science-oriented advocacy group said Tuesday as it advanced its famous “Doomsday Clock” to 89 seconds till midnight, the closest it has ever been.

The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists made the annual announcement — which rates how close humanity is from ending — citing threats that include climate change, proliferation of nuclear weapons, instability in the Middle East, the threat of pandemics and incorporation of artificial intelligence in military operations.

The clock had stood at 90 seconds to midnight for the past two years and “when you are at this precipice, the one thing you don’t want to do is take a step forward,” said Daniel Holz, chair of the group’s science and security board.

An advocacy group. In other words, activists.

The group said it’s concerned about cooperation between countries such as North Korea, Russia and China in developing nuclear programs. Russia President Vladimir Putin has also talked about using nuclear weapons in his war against Ukraine.

“A lot of the rhetoric is very disturbing,” Holz said. “There is this growing sense that … some nation might end up using nuclear weapons, and that’s terrifying.”

Well, at least they haven’t run with Trump Derangement Syndrome. Yet.

Google To Use Gulf Of America, Mt. McKinley On Updated Maps

Google to change map names for Gulf of Mexico and Denali when US updates them based on Trump order

Google says it will take its cue from the U.S. government if it has to change the names of the Gulf of Mexico and Denali on its maps.

The company said Monday that it will only make changes when the government updates its official listings for the body of water and the mountain.

After taking office, President Donald Trump ordered that the water bordered by the Southern United States, Mexico and Cuba be renamed to the Gulf of America. He also ordered America’s highest mountain peak be changed back to Mt. McKinley.

“We have a longstanding practice of applying name changes when they have been updated in official government sources,” Google said in a post on X.

The company said that Maps will reflect any updates to the Geographic Names Information System, a database of more than 1 million geographic features in the United States.

“When that happens, we will update Google Maps in the U.S. quickly to show Mount McKinley and Gulf of America,” Google said.

What a difference 4 years makes. In 2017 this kind of change would have seen Google proclaiming that they would never make the changes, and there would be tons of Google employees taking to social media with freakout/crying videos. Woke and DEI and Social Justice were all the rage. Expressing Trump Derangement Syndrome was expected from companies. Being Resistant was expected. Now? Just companies being companies, doing the job of companies, particularly after the last four years of the idiocy of the Biden-Harris admin.

PRC Attempting Make It Easier For People And Insurance Companies To Sue Fossil Fuels Companies

This is more of the Blame Shifting by the state for the disastrous policies of the state, county, and city which led to the horrible wildfires, and, yet, the people who are looking to pass it aren’t giving up their own use of fossil fuels, nor are most of the Comrades and insurance companies

California lawmaker seeks to hold fossil fuel companies accountable for climate change-related damage

A California state senator said Monday that he wants to give homeowners and insurers the ability to sue oil and gas companies when a disaster caused by climate change damages their property.

The bill, called the Affordable Insurance and Climate Recovery Act, seeks to give people injured by climate disasters a private right of action to recover their losses from oil and gas companies. State Senator Scott Wiener said those companies have misled people about the harm caused by their products.

Senate Bill 222 also would provide insurers with a direct cause of action against oil and gas companies. They could recover losses resulting from climate impacts and rising costs looming over the insurance market and the state’s FAIR Plan.

“These disasters happen and then who pays for them?” said Wiener, a San Francisco Democrat, standing Monday outside the state Capitol. “It’s us, the taxpayers, because of course we step in to help people rebuild, as we should.”

Of course it would be super-freak Scott Weiner, but, then, it could be any one of the moonbats in the People’s Republik Of California general assembly. What’s the chance this passes? I’d give it 88%, and that it passes within a couple months. At what point do fossil fuels companies just say “no mas!” and end their services in the PRC? Would be really tough to get goods in and out of the state. All those cargo ships and trucks. How do they run the trains? What happens with the huge number of airports? How do the celebs fly their private jets?

If insurance companies and the FAIR Plan can recoup their losses caused by climate disasters from oil and gas companies deemed responsible for those damages, the insurance market will stabilize and help with California’s high insurance costs, Wiener said in a statement.

Let’s say it works: the cost of fuel will skyrocket, at best, leading to the cost of most things going up. At worst, the companies decided they cannot afford to operate, from small convenience stores and gas stations up to the big companies. It would get really ugly, but, hey, the Comrades keep voting for Democrats, so, they will only have themselves to blame.

ICE Arrests Almost 1,000 Illegals In One Day

ICE arrests nearly 1,000 illegal aliens during sixth day of Trump administration

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) made nearly 1,000 arrests on Sunday, with lots of activity taking place in the southeastern United States, according to various ICE field offices.

The agency said law enforcement officers arrested 956 people and lodged 554 detainers, which means “there’s probable cause to believe that the person is removable from the United States under federal immigration law.”

The ICE field office in Miami, Florida, shared the details behind five of the illegal aliens arrested – three in Florida and two in Puerto Rico.

The two arrested in Puerto Rico were residents of the Dominican Republic, and one was charged with domestic violence while the other was charged with driving under the influence of liquor.

A Nicaraguan national was arrested at the Broward County Jail for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, unlawful carrying of a concealed weapon, discharging a firearm in public and driving with a suspended license.

And plenty more bad people. The professionals at ICE were told not to do their job, for the most part, under the Biden-Harris admin, not being allowed to go get the bad guys, but, still surely did the tracking, because they are find them fast.

Rising deaths from extreme heat will “far exceed” reductions in numbers dying from cold temperatures in Europe with climate change, researchers suggest.

A study modelling the change in deaths related to high and low temperatures found that there could be more than 2.3 million excess deaths across hundreds of European cities by the end of the century if urgent action is not taken to cut emissions.

While efforts to adapt cities to rising temperatures would not be enough to curb increased health risks due to exposure to heat, up to 70% of the excess deaths could be avoided if climate change was limited, the researchers said.

Extreme temperatures — mostly heat — are projected to kill as many as 2.3 million people in Europe by the end of the century unless countries get better at reducing carbon pollution and adapting to hotter conditions, a new study says.

Currently, cold temperatures kill more people in Europe than heat by large margins. But a team from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine used climate simulations of different scenarios and looked at death rates in 854 cities. They found as it warms cold deaths lessen slowly, but heat deaths soar rapidly.

Trump Floats Gazans Going To Egypt And Jordan, Immediately Rejected

Trump wants Egypt and Jordan to take in Palestinians from Gaza. Here’s why the idea is rejected

President Donald Trump’s suggestion that Egypt and Jordan take in Palestinians from the war-ravaged Gaza Strip was met with a hard “no” Sunday from the two U.S. allies along with the Palestinians themselves, who fear Israel would never allow them to return.

Trump floated the idea on Saturday, saying he would urge the leaders of the two Arab countries to take in Gaza’s now largely homeless population, so that “we just clean out that whole thing.” He added that resettling most of Gaza’s population of 2.3 million could be temporary or long term.

“It’s literally a demolition site right now,” Trump said, referring to the vast destruction caused by Israel’s 15-month war with Hamas, now paused by a fragile ceasefire.

“I’d rather get involved with some of the Arab nations, and build housing in a different location, where they can maybe live in peace for a change,” Trump said.

Hamas and the Western-backed Palestinian Authority condemned the idea. Jordan’s foreign minister, Ayman Safadi, told journalists that his country’s rejection of the proposed transfer of Palestinians was “firm and unwavering.”

Egypt, Jordan, and Israel have not responded, though, both Egypt and Jordan have said not to taking Gazans in early in the war. And, pretty much for 50+ years. Because they do not want them. They are a big problem. They create instability and violence. There’s a reason Egypt built a big-ass wall on the border between Gaza and Egypt with all sorts of security.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi has also warned of the security implications of transferring large numbers of Palestinians to Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula, bordering Gaza.

Hamas and other militant groups are deeply rooted in Palestinian society and are likely to move with the refugees, which would mean that future wars would be fought on Egyptian soil. That could unravel the historic Camp David peace treaty, a cornerstone of regional stability.

Exactly. But, you know, it was an idea. Sometimes ideas have to be thrown out there. How about the Gazans moving to an island in the Adriatic Sea? There are tons of them, certainly there is one big enough that is not settled. Oh, right, they want to be close to Israel so they can continue trying to kill Jews.

Or, how about the Gazans just stop being violent? Stop backing terrorist groups. Stop allowing Iran to fund it. Stop turning water pipes into rockets. Just. Stop.
