Prince William warns ‘inch-by-inch’ action is not enough to stop climate change
Prince William has issued a dramatic plea for action to tackle climate change to be sped up before it is too late.
Current measures are proceeding at a snail’s pace “inch by inch” and are nowhere near enough to address the problem, he said.
The future king argues that the “devastation” caused by summer wildfires in Britain and worldwide underlines the need for greater urgency in combatting global warming.
Writing exclusively for The Independent, the Prince of Wales said his Earthshot Prize competition to find new ways to repair the planet shows that technological solutions can be found.
He denies he is displaying “blind hope” that it is not too late to deal with environmental crises like climate change.
Answers have been found, he said, but they are either not being used, or not being used fast enough to meet the emergency.
He said action must be stepped up in what is left of this decade, effectively setting a deadline of 2030, less than four years from now.
Huh. Also Prince William
(UK Daily Mail) The Prince of Wales has given an impassioned speech talking of the ‘privilege’ he feels at representing his father on the global stage for the first time, but warning the world is ‘edging dangerously close’ to disaster.
William, 43, is representing King Charles at the COP30 United Nations Climate Summit in Belém, the gateway to Brazil’s Amazon rainforest.
Speaking at the World Leaders Summit in a landmark address, the heir to the throne – who flew to the event with British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer following his Earthshot Prize awards in Rio de Janeiro last night – spoke from the heart about his determination to continue his father’s work on green issues and take them forwards.
Huh
That’s a nice government jet they took, eh?
What’s the carbon footprint, Will?

As the U.S.-Israeli war against Iran opened with the killing of the Iranian supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, President Donald Trump said the bombing would continue “throughout the week, or, as long as necessary to achieve our objective of PEACE THROUGHOUT THE MIDDLE EAST AND, INDEED, THE WORLD!”
One by one, Republican speakers at President Trump’s midterm convention in Dallas this week turned to a far-fetched argument with echoes of the Cold War.
The Trump administration is moving to change who counts in the 2030 census, proposing to exclude millions of noncitizens from the population totals used to divide House seats among the states. The shift could cost states with large immigrant populations representation in Congress and Electoral College votes.
