‘Potential lab incident’: FBI director Wray speaks publicly for 1st time on COVID-19 origin
FBI director Christopher Wray on Tuesday spoke publicly for the first time on the bureau’s assessment that the COVID-19 virus “most likely” originated from a potential lab incident in Wuhan, China.
He also faulted the Chinese government in an interview with Fox News’ Bret Baier for, he said, trying to thwart the work of U.S. agencies investigating the beginnings of the global pandemic.
“The FBI has for quite some time now assessed that the origins of the pandemic are most likely a potential lab incident in Wuhan,” he said.
“Let’s step back for a second. You know, the FBI has folks agents, professionals, analysts, virologists, microbiologist, etc, who focus specifically on the dangers of biological threats, which include things like novel viruses like COVID and the concerns that they’re in the wrong hands,” he said, “some bad guys, a hostile nation state, a terrorist a criminal, the threats that those those could pose.
“So, here you’re talking about a potential leak from a Chinese government-controlled lab that killed millions of Americans, and that’s precisely what that capability was designed for,” he continued. “I should add that, that our work related to this continues. And there are not a whole lot of details I can share that aren’t — aren’t classified,” he told Baier.
The one necessary detail, again, is when this determination was made. What day, month, and year did they come to this finding? Was it recent? Last year? 2021? 2020?
It is pretty obvious that if the FBI had a position that agreed with Trump prior to the 2020 election on any subject at all, they would keep it to themselves. For example, they knew what was on Hunter’s laptop and that it was legit and they kept that in a dark hole. They knew what was in Biden’s daughter’s diary and kept that under wraps. They know with certainty everyone who visited Epstein’s island and who all the customers on Maxwell’s black book and not a word about them has leaked. The FBI is pretty clearly in the business of protecting Democrats.

Data and evidence must drive the conclusions, not partisanship. It’s possible that both agencies cannot disclose their methods for gathering the information. Could be very spy vs spy stuff! Let’s hope they can at least share the evidence with trusted scientists.
The public scientific information cannot determine if SARS-CoV-2 came from an animal or a lab leak.

It’s very unlikely that the Chinese deliberately released this virus in China. It just doesn’t serve any purpose for them. It makes perfect Chinese sense that they allowed it to spread beyond their borders once it was out and it makes perfect sense that their own lab quarantine procedures were undercut by corruption and incompetence. It also makes perfect sense that people in the US government took advantage of the situation to weaken Trump going into the 2020 elections. The US government is a big place though and I know with certainty that there were a lot of people in the government response who simply did not know what to expect and they were taking counsel of their fears and trying to do the right thing to save lives. There is room on this plate for malintent and for altruism.

I notice you are slowly shifting from “no evidence” to “scant evidence” on a couple of issues.and the evidence on mRNA vaccines is building fast. The excess deaths issue is taking off and is not going to be able to be hidden. The long term medical issues with the vaccines that were tested for 28 days instead of 7-9 years will become obvious with time. It would be logically impossible to find them in the short term. And the election malfeasance was never properly investigated, and will only be buried deeper as time goes by.
