The Economic Times – Burgers to blame for most of the global warming

A report by the United Nation’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has stated that 18 per cent of greenhouse gases are coming from animal agriculture – meat and dairy, used in making burgers.

According to Environmental News Network , the 408-page report states that what many people are eating is contributing more to global warming than the entire transportation sector of the United States.

The report said that the Earth, and all who reside here, are in grave peril like never before.

What in the hell is the Economic Times doing publishing this? Don’t they know that it is only CO2 that they are allowed to discuss? Anyhow, this is really nothing new, but, it will give the vegans some talking points. Except that plants generate lots of methane, too.

FYI to Silke and John: when I mention that I believe Man has a small piece of the cause of some global warming, the above is what I am referring to. Plus, land fills, which generate quite a bit of methane.

Robert Redford has been fighting on behalf of the environment for more than 30 years. From producing documentary films about solar power to lobbying Congress, his work has been both in the field and inside the Beltway.

These days, he has a new venue for environmental activism: slam poetry. Sponsored by Redford’s Sundance Preserve, in collaboration with Youth Speaks, a nonprofit that presents spoken-word performances, the Academy Award-winning actor is getting his message out in rhyme.

Oooooooooo-K. That should fix the issue. Awareness! Change! Carbon credits! Feel good! Do nothing substantive!
