Obama Orders Other People In Federal Government To Reduce Their Carbon Footprints

Remember, Obama is constantly jumping in Air Force One to take cross country trips, along with his massive motorcades, to attend constant fundraisers. He and his family will often take separate planes for trips and vacations. He constantly takes large motorcades weekly to play golf, which is doubly bad for “climate change”. He has the largest carbon footprint in the world at 41000 metric tons. He had to be goaded into putting the (useless) solar panels back on the White House roof.

(AP) President Barack Obama will order the federal government on Thursday to cut its emissions of greenhouse gases by 40 percent, as the U.S. seeks to spur other nations to get serious about climate change.

Obama’s executive order will also direct the government to ramp up use of renewable energy sources to 30 percent of the federal government’s consumption. The White House said U.S. taxpayers could save up to $18 billion in electricity costs by reducing greenhouse gases 40 percent over the next decade, compared to 2008 levels.

Know what could save even more billions? Shutter many useless departments, eliminate redundant and overlapping jobs. Force government to be responsible with the People’s money like successful private sector companies.

Obama’s executive order will direct the federal government to:

  • Cut energy use in federal buildings 2.5 percent every year between 2015 and 2025.
  • Reduce the amount of water used in federal buildings 2 percent every year through 2025.
  • Decrease greenhouse gas emissions from federal vehicles by 30 percent per mile by 2025, compared to the levels in 2014.
  • Ensure federal agencies are getting 25 percent of their energy — both heat and electricity — from clean sources by 2025.
  • Put more hybrid and zero-emission vehicles in the federal fleet of cars and trucks.

Notice that most of this will not effect Obama’s activities and lifestyle, and will mostly take effect after he has left the White House. He’s going to make an announcement as he tours the roof of the DOE Thursday, where some solar panels were installed. Tomorrow, there is a chance of snow in D.C. Go figure.

If he wants the federal gov’t to reduce their emissions by 40%, reduce the federal gov’t by 40%.

  2. Dana says:

I see nothing at all wrong with ordering federal agencies to cut their energy consumption, though I have to wonder about the implementation. We won’t know that the feds have cut energy usage in buildings by 2.5% in 2015 until a few months into 2016, and that’s the election year; nothing wil get done.

And how will anyone “Ensure federal agencies are getting 25 percent of their energy — both heat and electricity — from clean sources by 2025?” Electric power comes through the grid, and you have no way of knowing from where 25% of your electricity came, unless the government is going to set up its own power generation.

He’s turning into a pResident who cries Wolf. Why does anyone even listen to him? He’s a proven liar and meddler, let him flail around into impeachment.

  4. Jeffery says:

We all agree that some person on Earth will have the largest carbon footprint.

Is it really that surprising that for 4 years at a time, that that person occupies the office of the President of the United States of America?

Do you think the President of the United States of America should never travel on official business? Or that they should travel by horse and buggy?

How much total CO2 production comes from Presidential duties vs the entire government? That would have been an interesting denominator for you to supply.

responsible with the People’s money like successful private sector companies

You’ve never been involved in successful private sector company, have you.

No federal gov’t worker is paid tens of millions a year, as are executives of “successful” private sector companies.

  6. […] up on yesterday’s post regarding Obama ordering the Central Government to reduce its carbon footprint, we get from the […]

  7. Jl says:

Well, if that hurts their feelings then they should have gone to work in the private sector. And I’d imagine that the private sector executive has no where near the job protection of a government worker.

Hilarious. After taking two jets to California when he and Michelle had events on the same day.

  9. Deserttrek says:

when the little boy barak and ALL elected and appointed officials cut ALL travel and fossil fueled vacations I might listen to their stupidity

  10. Jeffery says:

when the [racist insult directed at the President of the United States of America snipped] and ALL elected and appointed officials cut ALL travel and fossil fueled vacations I might listen to their stupidity

    Bullshit.

So, your understanding of science is based on how people you do not respect live their lives?? That doesn’t make sense even in RWNJ land.

There ya go. Jeffery tries to insert race into a discussion where there was none before. One must wonder why liberals hate people of different races to the point where that is all they see. They cannot make decisions based on people’s actions or lack of actions and try to divert any discussion by screaming “racist!!”

Jeffery can’t see the hypocrisy of the actions of liberals. Such is the life of an ostrich.

  12. Jeffery says:

There ya go. The Liar misses the point. Those who wish not to be identified as racists should just stop doing racist things. Are racist typings “Dessert’s” least redeeming quality? Of course not.

I did not call the mixed race President of the United States a “little boy”, Baked Alaska did. So it wasn’t me who inserted an irrelevant racist slur into the discussion, it was Banana Cream Pie. German Chocolate Cake could, if he/she wanted, discuss the topic, but either prefers, or more likely is unable, to follow the discussion.

Lest we forget, the Earth continues to warm because of the CO2 that humans are adding to the atmosphere. It will continue to warm and the outlook is not good. Radical Deniers, largely backed by the fossil fuels industries, are pulling out all stops to block the grown-ups from taking the required actions to slow global warming. You will eventually lose, but not before causing considerable damage and rewarding your masters.

  13. gitarcarver says:

    The Liar misses the point.

I agree. You missed the point.

I did not call the mixed race President of the United States a “little boy”

So a description of a person is suddenly racist? As Obama often acts like a spoiled, petulant child, any statement to that is “racist?”

One cannot fix that kind of stupidity from you. It is just beyond the impossible. Like most liberals, you feel that any criticism of the Obama is somehow “racist.” You claim to want “honest discussions” on topics but dismiss any contrary opinion because you want to be victims so much that you see offense everywhere – even when there is none.

if he/she wanted, discuss the topic, but either prefers, or more likely is unable, to follow the discussion.

As usual, it is you who are unable to follow the discussion. Deserettrek made a valid point on the hypocrisy of people like you and Obama, and you decided that instead of dealing with the point, you called them a “racist.” You cannot handle the point, so you try and divert from it to some ridiculous, unsupported charge of “racism.”

Maybe instead of thinking your wife is delusional, you should look into getting help yourself. After all, all you have is name calling, the inability to remember what you said, and to make comments that are more likely found on a kindergarten playground. When your comments surround calling people the equivalent of “Poopey head,” you’ve already lost any credibility you may have had. And you lost that credibility a long time ago.

  14. Jeffrey shows his inherent bias by immediately thinking the phrase “little boy” was about race, rather than Obama’s actions.

  15. Jeffery says:

I concede the point that Dessert only meant to imply that President Obama acts like a petulant child by calling him a little boy.

I had forgotten how sensitive conservatives are to criticism. Conservatives have always been hypersensitive about race or white privilege – part persecution complex, part inferiority complex, part defensiveness, part “working the refs”.

I’m sorry if I hurt your feelings by calling out Dessert for what I perceived as a racist taunt.

If a handful of RWNJ thinks I’m wrong on race, than I must be wrong.

As I’ve said before, all racists are conservatives but not all conservatives are racist.

  16. gitarcarver says:

This from the guy who labeled a legitimate comment as being “racist.”
