Mayor Eric Adams once again insists NYC is ‘safest big city in America’ despite surge of migrant melees

Mayor Eric Adams on Saturday insisted the “the Crossroads of the World” is still safe despite the migrant crisis fueling a flurry of recent crimes there, including a recent stabbing of a 17-year-old.

“We had 62 million tourists last year; we will continue to surge this year; NYPD is ever present,” boasted Adams when asked about the Times Square crime wave during an unrelated event in Lower Manhattan.

“I was walking up there [in Times Square] the other day. You see the presence that’s there. It is safe.”

Adams is surrounded by his own personal armed security while he and other Democrats look to keep the law abiding citizens disarmed. Oh, you may be able to have it at home, but, carrying it anywhere? Good luck

“We’re going to continue to be the safest big city in America, and we’re going to set the right tone,” he added. “And those who are violent, who have no place in the city, doesn’t matter if they’re long-standing New Yorkers, or they’re new arrivals. Violence is not accepted in the city.”

Adams’ remarks came two days after a 17-year-old migrant was stabbed in a wild brawl on West 42nd Street near Seventh Avenue in Times Square Thursday night.

The question here is, how safe is SCNY? The data at Neighborhood Scout is a little dated, because SCNY is not reporting, like many big, Democrat run cities. Previous metrics deemed it a 6, meaning it is safer than 6% of US neighborhoods. A 100 is the best. Violent crime was double the New York rate, and you have a 1 in 33 chance of being a victim of a property crime. There are many big cities, all run by Democrats, which are worse. Seattle, Portland, Chicago, Baltimore (which has gone from a 1 to a 3), Detroit (which is backsliding, unfortunately), and Minneapolis, to name a few.

What happens, though, when the violent crime is updated? Because it has been getting bad, and not just from illegal aliens. Cops are leaving, either moving elsewhere or retiring, in droves, and not being replaced as needed. The ones on the job aren’t being proactive. Why bother, when they’ll just be called racists and Fascists and demonized by the government. Things won’t get better, especially not with a prosecutor who’s happy to let criminals go.

    Gotta love that diversity!
If this is our strength, I’d hate to see our Achilles’ heel….

    Liberalism in a nutshell:
Seattle restaurant owner has “finally” lost faith in the city after 23rd break-in in three years.
Last time owner tried to vocalize his concern about crime he received an avalanche of negative Yelp reviews.
Side note: Seattle just held council elections and all new members are all Ds.
    Liberalism is a mental disorder.

It’s either that or ballot box stuffing is just a permanent feature of life in D-run cities.

According to The New York Times, there’s a growing movement of American blacks relocating to Africa.

The black participants are calling it “Blaxit.”

Fast-food workers, subway riders, Asian pedestrians, and Super Bowl parade enthusiasts are calling it “answered prayers.”

The Times profiles Jes’ka Washington, who relocated from Houston to Rwanda because being black in America “exhausted” her.

Indeed, those brawls over broken shake machines are hard on the back, and the side-to-side head bobbing while declaring “uh-uh-uh, oh no you dih’nt” is hell on the neck. Also, being hired without having skill and being unfireable once hired can take the wind out of anyone!

Ashley Cleveland moved from Atlanta to South Africa because she “wanted to be around black people.”

She couldn’t find black people in Atlanta? The article doesn’t mention that she’s blind.

Unfortunately, the black expats are encountering unforeseen inconveniences. First, many African nations are in “food crisis.” For a people accustomed to fast, hot, and plentiful food or else, how do you punch an entire nation for not having hot fries? Indeed, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Kenya, Central African Republic, and Nigeria don’t have a single McDonald’s. In South Africa they have something called “slap chips,” but they’re “cooked at a lower temperature and served soft and floppy instead of fried and crispy.”

Oh boy…there’s gonna be trouble! At least in SA it’s even more legal to kill a white than in the U.S.

Washington told the Times that her biggest surprise was the absence of weave shops. “They just give you a machete and tell you to scalp a Tutsi. Best quality weaves I ever got!”

      Yikes, here comes the diversity!”

I can understand why diversity is good and many different things from food to housing the automobiles to clothing. But in no way can diversity be a benefit to a nation. Homogeneous people get along better and run a society better then diverse people ever could. As creepy Joe would say and that’s a fact Jack.

Even our motto E pluribus Unum means out of many one but it seems the new Democrats which I like to call the globalist left prefer many out of one.

Even Abe Lincoln set a house divided against itself cannot stand. The left has deliberately divided us knowing that we cannot stand that way I suggest we eliminate them by any means necessary as they would say. Turn around philosophy on themselves.

Compared to Chicago, Philadelphia, St Louis, and Baltimore, yeah, New York City is safer.

Of course, like Philly, New York City is more or less safe depending upon in which neighborhood you happen to be.

  5. Fubared says:

It is a safe city for the gangs and illegals who are in large groups. I notice all the illegals are not alone wandering around but all going to dedicated areas where they have large numbers. Ya they are dam safe. A white single woman trying to walk at night, not so safe. Dead meat maybe
