Your Fault: Japanese Cherry Trees To Have Earliest Bloom Since 812AD

If only you Japanese folks hadn’t been driving fossil fueled vehicles back during Dark Ages they wouldn’t have seen the trees bloom so early

How climate change is thwarting travellers’ cherry blossom plans

In Japan, the rare and beautiful 10-day cherry blossom “front” is set to start 10 days earlier this year due to global warming. Here’s what travellers need to know.

Travellers who arrived in Tokyo in April 2023 to experience the city’s famous cherry tree petals were faced with quite a surprise: instead of blooming as forecast in late March, the pink sakura appeared 10 days earlier than predicted.

This was no freak occurrence: 2023 tied with 2020 and 2021 for a record-early bloom – the definitive earliest since scientific records began in 1953[1] , and earliest since 812, according to historical documents from Kyoto. According to experts, this trend points to a troublesome fact: we are overheating our planet at a frightening pace, and the early sakura are harbingers of more change to come.

Japan’s beloved four seasons are under threat altogether, says Yoshihiro Tachibana, professor of Climate and Ecosystem Dynamics from Japan’s Mie University. “If greenhouse gas reductions cannot be achieved, there is the possibility of cherry blossoms in February. All four seasons are warming. But spring warming is seeing the biggest rise, so the cherry blossom season tends to come earlier and earlier.”

This year, some forecast a start to the sakura season on par with the earliest recorded blooms, around 25 March. But when, exactly, the sacred blooms might appear is really anyone’s guess.

There’s some wiggle room in to when the Medieval Warm period started, but, 812 AD was still squarely in Dark Ages. Yet, they had massive early blooms? From what? What caused it? There were no fossil fueled vehicles. They weren’t burning tons of coal. No one was using electricity. They were not shipping goods on fossil fueled ships. Things change, except in Cult World. Having trees bloom earlier during a low level Holocene warm period is not a harbinger of Doom. Everything will be fine. We are not overheating our planet. Damned doomsday cult.

We expect record highs in middle America over the next few days.

80 degrees in Missouri in February? It’s the middle of goddam winter! A week ago we had 5″ of snow.

A friend told me yesterday he refuses to turn on the AC in February. I recall a few decades ago another friend saying May 1 was the absolute earliest she would kick on the AC. Things are always changing.

How can a,Ia adequately broadcast the fact that I DONT GIVE A SHIT IF THEY NEVER BLOOM.

The fffffiiiinnnggg press is bsing us.

    • Elwood P. Dowd says:

      Mr Lewis,

You seem even angrier than usual.

The early blooming of cherry blossoms and other plants is merely evidence that regional climates are changing which can result in other changes, like what crops grow where.

Who knows, next year could be a brutally cold winter and the blossoms may bloom later!!

That’s all. You are not forced to GIVE A SHIT. Or to even type that you don’t give a shit.

And what was happening in the cold snap I noted??

And you are panicking over THREE WHOLE YEARS.

Tree metabolism is more a factor of day length or hours of sun light. Really doubt there is a relation to temperature.

Here is Minny its very weird for us. I used my snow blower once. Usually we get snow in Nov and it doesnt melt but continues to build up and sometime late April we see our lawns again. This year, I’ve seen my lawn all season, one snowfall that lasted a couple of weeks of snow on ground. Scary actually. I love it but snow mo bilers aint happy and skiers are crying in their beers in restuarants.
I read next year we better be ready to bend over, La Nina will bring the opposite with record colds and snow. That’s just wonderful.
I never got on the global warming kick but our climate has been changing since day one, one way or the other but weve never seen a winter like this in the midwest, ever.

    • david7134 says:

The climate is changing. Has been doing so for 20,000 years. Communist desire to think it is due to a trace gas and it can be reversed by high axes and global communism.

  6. Elwood P. Dowd says:

Actually, early spring-like temperatures can cause some plants to bud or bloom early.

Communists never paid much attention to CO2 levels and global warming.

Axes have no effect on CO2. I guess if you had a super tiny, super sharp axe you could cleave an oxygen and get carbon monoxide and highly reactive singlet oxygen.

Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun but not the hottest. Go figure.

During daylight hours its sunny side reaches 800 F!! And it’s dark side -290 F!! No wonder the gods didn’t put the Adam and Eve there. Mercury is 37 million miles from the Sun.

Venus is 68 million miles from the Sun, so should be cooler, right? Venus stays a balmy 865 F whether on the light or dark side!!

How can that be? Why, when the Sun is not hitting the dark side of Venus, does the surface stay hot??

Our own moon shows a similar behavior to Mercury – hot (250 F) sunny side, cold (-210 F) dark side, and is some 93 million miles from the Sun.

By contrast, Neptune is some 2.8 BILLION miles from the Sun and receives 1/1000th the sunlight as Earth. The average “surface” temperature is -330 F.

What do Earth and Venus have in common? How about our moon and Mercury?

    You know the answer.

      Trump Needs You!!

Your multiBILLIONaire Leader needs your donations!

Donald has claimed a net worth of 10 BILLION although it’s estimated by outsiders at $2.6 BILLION.

Jared and Ivanka are worth over $1 BILLION now, maybe they could kick in a few Franklins.

But the mantra of the superwealthy is NEVER USE YOUR OWN MONEY. Donnie has 70 million worshippers, mostly poor, but devoted to him. The hoi polloi owe the wealthy for the privilege of living in their world, so send $5, $10, $20 or $100 to Donald. Real patriots are making it a monthly donation. You can skip buying Xmas presents next year.

The great thing about donating to Donnie is that he won’t waste it on campaigning, as it will go straight to paying his legal bills and settlements. As long as Donnie the Lip keeps saying stupid shit, the media will promote every word! And state level Repubs will keep working to suppress the votes of the communists.

Putin’s fortune is estimated between $70 and $200 BILLION. The Saudi Sovereign Wealth Fund expects to start deploying $70 BILLION a year.

What better investment for a foreign country than owning a US President.

Donald Trump is the only president in recent history whose net worth decreased during his term in office. Meat and vegetables every Democrat in Congress has gone in poorer than they left it’s amazing. Before you start accusing people of being on the take you better clean up your own house and your own house is the dirtiest most corrupt that the United states has ever faced. There are more corrupt Democrats, there are more sexually perverted Democrats, there are more Democrats doing insider trading, word Democrats stealing taxpayers money to go on vacations pay their mistresses or boyfriends or visit places like Epstein’s island than Republicans ever dreamed of.

The problem you have with pointing a finger of corruption toward Republicans is that the Democrats refine the entire system. You did watch Joseph Biden threaten the Ukraine several years ago with losing a billion dollars of funding if they didn’t put a prosecutor friendly to his son in the job. Or didn’t you? Or is that another inconvenient truth that you ignore like voter fraud, or men can’t have babies, or January six was a protest that you called an insurrection so you could arrest your fellow Americans while letting the killers arsonists from the Democrat lead and supported riots go unpunished.

You are personally corrupt Elwood, but that’s not your main problem your main problem is it you’re also dishonest, a liar, a fake. And most of all when confronted with the truth you face the same decision we all do: accept it or deny it and you invariably deny the truth. You did that when you were nine years old and walked out of your Baptist classes because the thought of having to do good for other people revolted you and you wanted to do what you wanted to do because that’s the way a nine year old brain works. And you still have a nine year old brain you can’t accept the truth you wanna do what you wanna do you wanna force other people to do what you want them to do you wanna say about trump anything you want because anything you say becomes a truth to you. A brain of garbage and a soul of poison that’s all you are period

        • Elwood P. Dowd says:

          Blah, blah, blah…

It’s precious that you believe conservative Christians believe in “doing good”.

Jesus was uniformly good, conservative Christians not so much.

          You are personally corrupt, LG.

You did watch Joseph Biden threaten the Ukraine several years ago with losing a billion dollars of funding if they didn’t put a prosecutor friendly to his son in the job. Or didn’t you?

I did. Not exactly right. In fact, you’re all wrong. In 2016 Vice President Biden pushed to have Ukraine oust the recently installed corrupt prosecutor, Viktor Shokin, who was actually “slow-walking” the investigations involving Ukrainian oligarchs and some companies, including Burisma. The Burisma investigation involved the company’s actions in 2010-2012 long before Hunter Biden was involved. The US Dept of State, IMF, EU, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the US Senate Ukrainian Caucus and the World Bank all wanted the famously corrupt Shokin out. (Remember that Ukraine was really corrupt).

With the cooperation of the US Dept of State, said the Vice President: “I’m telling you, you’re not getting the billion dollars” “I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money.”

The Ukrainian Parliament eventually removed Shokin.

The Senate Ukraine Caucus, including Republican Sens. Rob Portman, Mark Kirk and Ron Johnson sent a letter to President Poroshenko urging removing Shokin just a month before he was ousted.

You can’t believe much of what Trump tells you.

At the time, Ukraine, the US and the EU were working to stop Russia’s talk of invading Ukraine because of the widespread corruption.

Nice analogy, but you forgot Mars. Mars atmosphere is 95% CO2 compared to earth’s 0.04%. Mars in their summer at the equator can reach 70F, yet at night go down to -100F. You know why…

    • Elwood P. Dowd says:

Yes, I know why, as do you, but you wish to hide it. The Martian atmosphere is much less dense than Earth’s so the actual amount of CO2 is lower. The amount of water vapor is also lower. Mars receives less solar energy than Earth. It “snows” dry ice on Mars!!

Relative to Earth, the air on Mars is extremely thin. Standard sea-level air pressure on Earth is 1,013 millibars. On Mars the surface pressure varies through the year, but it averages 6 to 7 millibars. That’s less than one percent of sea level pressure here.

  10. Jl says:

Yes, so in other words the CO2 doesn’t keep it warm. Venus atmosphere is 90 times denser than earth’s.

    • Elwood P. Dowd says:

The greenhouse effect on Earth (+33C) is greater than on Mars (+5C). We should be grateful that Earth lies between Venus and Mars and has the atmosphere favorable for the evolution of life!!

Based on evidence of past water on Mars it seems the planet had a much more dense atmosphere a few billion years ago.
