Here’s the modified section. The removed phrases are bolded.
“An infant who is born alive shall be fully recognized as a human person” , is still included. All the laws to protect a human person still apply.
The previous version would force medical personnel to use extreme measures including intubations and drug infusions even for a baby with anencephaly or any number of fatal conditions. The new wording permits personnel to use their medical judgment to keep the dying baby comfortable.

Voters in conservative Ohio rejected the Republican requirement that state constitutional amendment need a 60% vote supermajority to pass. Ohio has a state constitutional amendment on the ballot in Nov that gives Ohioans a right to abortion. If it had needed 60% it would likely fail; at 50% it will pass, just as happened in konservative Kansas.
Abortion bans appear to be losers when put to a vote.
Then why are you left is so afraid to put it up to a vote? Why do you find it necessary to force people to accept your point of view with the Supreme Court ruling that was obviously illegal. Abortion’s not in the constitution and therefore it has to do with state rights and if states vote on it and they vote for it that’s up to the state.
Sadly leftists are so diabolically driven they can’t accept the fact that in our Republic states are supposed to vote on things like that. They just love to force everybody to do it their way no matter what.

States are voting on it!! The left, Dems, libs are delighted to put abortion up for a vote state by state! Even in conservative states like Ohio, Kansas, Montana and Kentucky, voters voted to SUPPORT abortion rights! In addition, Vermont, California and Michigan also voted to support abortion rights.
It’s Republicans who want to ban abortion by fiat. In Ohio, Kansas, Montana and Kentucky, the state legislatures OPPOSE abortion rights, while the citizens support abortion rights!
But state level Republicans are wily creatures and may yet find ways to defeat the will of the voters. In Missouri a few years ago, voters approved a referendum to expand federal Medicaid funding for the poor but the far-right, backward Missouri legislators just refused to let it happen, although subsequent court cases overruled the redneck cockus here.

So how do we make abortion “rare” without quashing women’s rights? By making unwanted pregnancy more rare: Support education, healthcare, mental health, address poverty, counter rape and incest. True, improving the overall health of society is not as direct as an authoritarian mandate that some 60% of Americans oppose, but it’s the right approach.
What direct democracy is doing state by state is to make abortion laws MORE liberal than was Roe v Wade. Is that what you wanted?

Sure, sure… some deeply red states will maintain their bans, and some will find ways for the their Repub legislatures to overrule the will of their people, but every Red state where they’ve had a direct vote supports abortion rights. So, yeah… Yay democracy!!
