President Joe Biden said Tuesday that he hasn’t visited the U.S.-Mexico border because “there are more important things going on,” despite traveling to Delaware 59 times and stopping for ice cream eight times since taking office.
Biden defended his decision to skip visiting the border while in Arizona, telling Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy, “There are more important things going on.”
Biden made the defense while boarding Marine One to travel to Phoenix ahead of semiconductor manufacturer TSMC’s announcement to increase its chip investment in the state to $40 billion.
When Donald Trump was president, Biden described “horrifying scenes” at the U.S. southern border of “kids being kept in cages” and federal agents “ripping children from their mothers’ arms.” But nearly two years into his presidency, Biden has never visited the border despite thousands of illegal immigrants flooding into the country every day.
To Biden, “more important things” than visiting the border apparently include 59 trips to his home state and eight separate stops for his favorite dessert.
I stopped counting a few weeks ago, but, I was up to 28 weekend trips to Delaware, 8 trips to Camp David, and 9 trips somewhere else or stayed in D.C. for this year. Meanwhile,

(NY Post) A US Border Patrol agent was killed in an accident while chasing a group of illegal immigrants, according to a Texas congresswoman.
The agent, Raul Gonzalez, was involved in a chase near Mission, Texas, Wednesday when he crashed his all-terrain vehicle, the chief of Border Patrol tweeted.
The 38-year-old agent was traveling at high speed when he crashed into a gate, according to Fox News. The father of two was taken by fellow agents to the hospital, where he later died.
The Border Patrol is undermanned because no one wants to work for a department in which their top head, Joe Biden, along with many others above the agents, hates them and restricts them in doing their sworn duty, as record numbers come to the border. What’s the over/under that he goes to Delaware Friday for the weekend?
I happen to agree with Biden here. Personally visiting every place in the country is neither required nor desired for an American President. It find it mindless to associate calendar visits with priority or importance. This story just undermines the important issues that controlling the border is important and that the Biden Administration has declared that his administration will not enforce the nation’s laws. For any Republican President, that would be impeachable.

Right now, here, today in the US of A there are few things more important than the sovereignty of our borders. They have been flung open and left open for too long for evil and nefarious reasons.
Over 2 million unwanted, un needed foreigners are illegally crossing into or home each year. Why? That is one of the most important duties of the president, protecting the USA. As human trafficking, gun running, smuggling, fentanyl deaths, gangs, criminals, gangs, disease, terrorists and more are pouring into our country I still can find no person who can explain the benefit this has to the US or our people. I find vague references to radicals trying to change the demographics because they hate Whites and/or Christians and some rumors about democommies importing more voters but unless the left also wants to live in a third world sewer of crime and drugs that makes little sense. Now I can assume that illegals are voting illegally and voting 100% democommie because Republicans would not allow that but dems would. It’s just another part of election stealing to them no different than dead people voting or ballot harvesting.
Pedo joe should be at the fukin border every day until it’s sealed like Grants tomb and those 87000 IRS agents created to intimidate the working man and small business man should be made into border agents with the duty to seal it. Is it more important to beat up Uber drivers and waitresses for unpaid taxes on tips or stop child trafficking’s?

I don’t feel one jot or tidle more secure having President Biden at the border than I would knowing he was at home taking a long nap before dinner. His role in defending sovereignty can be done from anywhere and he has chosen as a matter of policy to not do it. He can also not do it from anywhere. His location is not important. This is true for all presidents. They don’t ever need to visit a disaster site, old folks home, or major activity and in every case, when they do, their presence is counter-productive.
I really don’t think Biden has the time or ability to view all the destruction he has caused.
Professor, I generally agree with your position on presidential junkets and the local disruption they cause. However, since Brandon was already in town and screwing things up, he could have gone a little way towards quieting some of his criticism with a short detour.
