Anyone Seeing Lots Of 500 Type Errors?

Let me know if you are seeing lots of downtime errors, usually some type of 500 type, in which you see “Cloudfare” in the middle.

I’m getting hit by a lot, and I mean a lot, of bots hitting the blog, particularly the admin login page and one other backend. Like the tune of over 49K a day, so, I’ve implemented a few plugins to try and limit this. They won’t get in, my password is too long and too random, and I stopped allowing registration years ago because of this.

But, I’ve seen a couple Cloudfares myself. I might have to turn it off.

For those using WordPress, check out Blackhole and Wordfence, which are the two others I’ve implemented. Had to add Yost SEO to update a file required by Blackhole. Might have to implement WPS Hide Login.

Thanks!

Getting “error go back” fill in user name/password fill them in I hit comment and it double posts.

I keep getting messages that host is not responding. Then, if I get on, comment takes forever to appear.

  3. I’ll keep an eye on that, Drowning. I’m not seeing double in the comments section of admin.

Good to know, David. I’m going to let Wordfence run for a week or 2, the firewall is still in learning phase. If still slow, I’ll try turning it off, see if helps. If not, Cloudfare. Blackhole shouldn’t be affecting.

Careful, several site have been hit hard, busted knuckles and others.

      • Yeah, Dreamhost got really upset with me, took me down for a bit. I wasn’t seeing that traffic, as it wasn’t hitting my URLs that would count as traffic. Mostly 2 specific admin ones. I was shocked when I looked in the backend file.

Glad you mentioned Busted Knuckles, hadn’t seen a post in a while. New URL, saved to feedreader.
