LA County Tells Ambulance Crews Not To Transport Those With Little Chance Of Survival

Is Los Angeles County looking for lawsuits? Because this is the way you get lawsuits

Ambulance crews told not to transport patients who have little chance of survival

The situation in Los Angeles County hospitals is so critical that ambulance crews have been advised to cut back on their use of oxygen and to not bring to hospitals patients who have virtually no chance of survival. Officials say they need to focus on patients with a greater chance of surviving.

The measures were taken as circumstances are expected to become even worse in coming weeks, when patients sickened over the Christmas holiday will need treatment, leaving officials desperate for ways to increase capacity and triage care to focus on the sickest patients.

Already, “many hospitals have reached a point of crisis and are having to make very tough decisions about patient care,” said Dr. Christina Ghaly, the L.A. County director of health services. (snip)

In a sign of the strain the surge is putting on medical supplies needed for severely ill patients, the L.A. County Emergency Medical Services Agency issued a directive Monday that ambulance crews should conserve oxygen by administering it only to patients who have oxygen saturation levels below 90%. To reduce demand on hospitals, the agency issued memos directing ambulance staff not to transfer to hospitals most patients who have virtually no chance of survival.

Yes, that is an official government agency, which is telling ambulance crews to follow these directives. First off, do EMTs have the authority to make these calls, particularly on who has a chance of survival? Sure, their experience will give them a clue as to those who won’t survive, but, that should be the call of a doctor. So, lawsuit time.

Wow. Getting sick or old in the United States is becoming hazardous. Where can I move to to stand a chance of survival? (I’m 81 but healthy. If I get sick, I’m doomed) Seriously.

    • Professor Hale says:

Your chances improve if you relocate to within a few minutes drive from a top quality American Hospital in a suburb. Then don’t depend on ambulances to carry you. Sad fact is, California public hospitals have been over-run for decades. You could have a stroke or heart attack while sitting in their emergency rooms and still not see a doctor in time to survive. Statistically though, at 81, you are a bad risk even if you lived in the emergency room. People your age die and nothing can save them. The good news is, If you doe while coughing, your hospital will claim it is COVID related and get paid more for treating you. Good luck to you.

So if the ambulance crew responds to a gang shooting and the victim has multiple holes and is likely to bleed out, do they just leave him there and call the coppers to draw the chalk outline? Asking for a friend…………….

Didn’t Trump have a plan to make the national healthcare “fabulous and classy “ or was that the wall !

It has been over 3 months since anyone has died of vovid in Vietnam
Should we have treated Covid like they did? Before 350000died

“Should we have treated Covid like they did? Before 350000died”

If those stats are true https://www.thepiratescove.us/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_smile.gif Which from a commie country only a leftist would be stupid enough to believe them, yes perhaps the CDC, NIH, WHO and all our medical and scientific “experts” should have advised the government to follow the lead of the Great and Noble Vietnam!

Hey, if you believe there were ZERO deaths from the Wuhan/Democommie Plague I got a bridge to sell you in Red China.

      • Elwood P. Dowd says:

If not Vietnam, how about Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Israel or Germany? They have all had many fewer Covid deaths/100,000 population than the US. Are they all Commie-Fascist tyrannies? Perhaps they have better citizens than our 74 million trumpists.

      • Elwood P. Dowd says:

        Kye,

Why do you insist that the CDC (and other) numbers are untrue?

        • Beans says:

Maybe because about a week or so ago the CDC said that the number of people who died due to Covid-19 was 6% of the people listed as ‘dead by Covid’ who actually died with Covid (ie: popped positive before, during or after they died.)

Sooo… for, oh, say 9-10 months the CDC and NIH and other government agencies have been listing huge amounts of deaths ‘with Covid’ and actually, well, considering the tests are an abject failure in reporting correctly, and only 6% actually died of COVID which takes the deaths due to this oh-so-deadly killer world pandemic civilization-ending event to be about… as bad as a weak seasonal flu.

Yes, yes, yes… Covid-19 is potentially deadly, to people with serious risk factors like being really old and stuck in a nursing home. But, seriously, if the bug was as bad as they said it was, the homeless, the drug-addicted, the transplant-patients (who take an immunosuppressant,) AIDS/HIV patients and all the others with compromised immune systems would all be filling Potter’s Fields all across the land. But, well, they aren’t. Dying that is, in large numbers. Dribs and drabs, yes, but the worst pandemic since 1917 has failed to reap the most vulnerable to every other disease known to man.

          Yep.

That’s why so many are questioning the CDC and NIH and WHO and local and state and international reporting. Because, based on the USS Theodore Roosevelt and the various ‘Flu Cruises’ that happened early on in this ‘pandemic,’ the overall deadliness of this killer bug is… pathetic. Tooootally pathetic. Common Cold level.

Not saying people aren’t dying. Just we aren’t seeing the numbers expected for a worldwide pandemic. The seasonal flu of 2002 was far deadlier, and stacked the old and ill like cord wood. Compared to 2002, the Wu Ping Cough is ‘Meh.’ Only made worse by bad media and bad policy (like thrashing various anti-malarial drugs and other regimes that worked) and by cramming the most vulnerable on top of each other in facilities that can’t handle the stress, much like Mayor DeBlasio and Governor Cuomo did.

There are 5 million registered Republicans in California that have practically no voice at all. There is a movement afoot for these GOP people to LEAVE the state and move to Nevada, Arizona, Michigan and Wisconsin since the demographics are clearly showing AZ and NV are gone if nothing is done.

Michigan and Wisconsin are turning more red with each passing year while Georgia as can be seen by last night is gone to the GOP. With A red government in control they sold out to the leftists by allowing PA style politics to reign supreme in their state.

So Say goodbye to GA and Arizona but say hello to WI and MI. A flop literally of votes.

However if CA. Keeps it up people are fleeing the state in droves and if enough GOP flee CA to move to these 4 states most notably AZ and NV then the loss of GA is a wash.

  6. Est1950 says:

    OF note:

The left claims that they are the biggest party by registration. Which is true. However let us look at one fact.

To be sure, there are a number of major states that do not register voters by party, such as Texas, Georgia, Washington, and the keystones of the industrial Midwest: Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin. If they did register by party, Texas, Georgia, and Indiana would almost certainly add to the Republican total; the industrial states probably less so, even though MI, WI are controlled by the GOP in the state and senate of the state and until 2018 had also a GOP governor.

  7. Nighthawk says:

Unelected government officials and employees are now deciding who lives and who dies.

Between 10% to 15% of hospital beds are being used by confirmed COVID patients depending on the state. If this ~15% is enough to overwhelm our hospitals then they are woefully unprepared for even minor emergencies or a small mass casualty event.

The other odd thing, at least in my state, I used to see every day, starting in October, news about how bad the ‘spike’ is. How cases are rising quickly. How our hospitals are being over run. They were also very quick to announce stricter lockdowns in counties that were seeing a 3% rise or higher in positive cases. BUT, when those same counties dropped below 2% positive cases and lockdowns could be eased, we hear nothing. We also hear nothing about how the numbers have been falling for the last month or so.

It’s almost like they only want to report the doom and gloom to keep the masses scared.

  8. Est1950 says:

Lastly since it was a forgone conclusion that the GA runoffs would go to the Democrats Since the RINO governor appointed a RINO carpetbagger in Loeffler and there were 21 republicans in the election for senator in November a plan that showed how anti-Trump Georgia has become. It was clearly an effort to stop Doug Collins from Becoming the candidate.

Had he won he would have easily defeated a preacher who claims a Christian cannot fight in a war but can have a late term abortion. Now I don’t want to get into their politics here but it was clear the Georgia GOP has lost its mind and is trying desperately to hold onto the EX CORPORATISM position the GOP used to hold.

Today it is the GOP who despises Corporations as more and more of them turn against the right and embrace wokeness and the left. It is Joe Biden…HE IS A HUGE ESTABLISHMENT POL that will not do half the things the left wants done because he is headed toward 80. He don’t give a FUK what the squad wants.

So relax people. Biden will only do a small percentage of things the left wants. The main two I think will be the abolishment of student debt and a rework of ObamaCare. He will not pack the court nor will he add two more states.

Joe Manchin promised he would vote against those two things.

And this is DC. Nothing gets done even if you have a majority of the government. Look at Trump. He got almost nothing done through legislature his first two years except a tax cut which gee…the GOP is always trying to cut taxes. Everything else was stonewalled.

Enter 1/3rd of the LEFT who are still Corporatism lefies and the house remember now is ONLY CONTROLLED BY FOUR 4 votes.

It will be funny watching the left devour themselves over the next two years.

    • Nighthawk says:

You’re forgetting one thing. It isn’t Biden we have to worry about. If he takes office it won’t take long for Harris and Pelosi to have him declared incompetent and removed from office installing Harris as POTUS. Pelosi has already put the tools in place to do this.

      • Elwood P. Dowd says:

The House Speaker can only initiate removal of a US president by impeachment. See below for how a VP can temporarily suspend the powers of the sitting President. Neither impeachment nor invoking the 25th Amendment Section 4 will occur. Trump, arguably America’s worst president, was impeached but not convicted and never seriously threatened by the 25th Amendment.

Here’s the text of Section 4 of the 25th Amendment:

Section 4. Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.

Thereafter, when the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that no inability exists, he shall resume the powers and duties of his office unless the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive department or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit within four days to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office. Thereupon Congress shall decide the issue, assembling within forty-eight hours for that purpose if not in session. If the Congress, within twenty-one days after receipt of the latter written declaration, or, if Congress is not in session, within twenty-one days after Congress is required to assemble, determines by two-thirds vote of both Houses that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall continue to discharge the same as Acting President; otherwise, the President shall resume the powers and duties of his office.
