I just punched in some numbers at health exchange. The cost for health insurance is 1156.00 A MONTH for one person with our income listed.
The plan is 1000 deductible, 7900.00 out of pocket maximum with all kinds of co-pays.
Trump and the GOP are going to get massacred in 2020. They literally are because no matter how FF’ing good the economy is no one wants to pay 2k to 3k a month in insurance premiums for a family of 2-4.
This is why the GOP lost so many seats in the house and its why the Democrats refuse to touch health care even though they are running on it. Offering a lie….Medicare for all will get the GOP crushed in 2020.
Crushed. they got crushed in 2018 because of healthcare and have done NOTHING since. I predict they lose another 30 seats and this time with the impeachment process the democrats pick up 8-10 seats in the senate and probably trounce trump no matter what the right echo chamber keeps saying.

Sadly D&G you may be correct. The “GOP” has ceased to exist what is now passing for “Republicans” is a cluster of old men, former “Democrat Lite” now just to the right of Batshit Crazy. They didn’t want Trump and when they got him refused to follow him. They killed the GOP by fukin’ inaction at a time in the history of the Republic when action was an imperative. Nothing says that better than their failure to address health insurance.
Not trying to be glib, it really ain’t that difficult. Once you realize people only want to pay for what they need and not be TOLD what they have to buy it falls into place. Keep Medicaid for the poor, Medicare and Medicare Advantage for the elderly who have paid for it all their life, then allow health insurance by individuals, buyers associations, clubs and businesses and all across state lines. Establish a special subsidy for pre-existing conditions and a comprehensive list of non-covered elective procedures like breast enhancements, penile extensions, sex changes, dental implants and hair replacement.
If we keep the government out as much as possible the market should bring the vast amount of costs down. Oh, and no free health insurance for illegals or foreigners. No American should be forced to insure a German.
I agree the GOP is treading water because this country is a one party system. No matter who gets in power they do nothing. Pass a few bills. Obama passed Obamacare and dodd/frank. That was about it. Then just treaded water for 8 years.
Trump got a tax cut through and had to declare a national emergency at the border to even try and build a wall and fix the open borders with not even the GOP wishing to help him out in 2017 when they controlled both sides of the aisle.
I think the right is convinced since trump surprised in 2016 after polling so badly but that they will just show up in 2020. That might be true but How many will vote for trump but not for their state senator or house rep because they want this medical fixed.
Healthcare is a disaster right now and the gop does nothing and the democrats wont do anything because it won them the house in 2018 and they are banking on finishing the sweep in 2020.
Meanwhile Romney and Paul plan their next run for president in either 2020 or 2024.
The polls on Trump are just as wrong now as they were in 2016. The best poll was the recent Louisiana election. Dems suffered badly, RINOs and those against Trump lost, the Governor is in trouble. I think we will see something similar in 2020.

Because in 2018 the number one reason people cast their vote was HEALTHCARE. The democrats even acknowledge that healthcare led them to take over the house.

The Department Justice is opening a criminal investigation into its own Russia probe. A new report from The New York Times said officials have shifted the Russia investigation overseen by Attorney General Barr from an “administrative review†into a criminal investigation.
The move gives U.S. attorney John Durham the power to subpoena for witness testimony and documents. DOJ rules state that a criminal inquiry can only be undertaken after finding a “reasonable indication†of wrongdoing. The intent of the investigation will be to uncover the origin of the Russia probe, but it is not clear what potential crime Durham is investigating or what prompted the inquiry.
