NY Times Blames Trump For Illegals Storming The Border Or Something

Throughout Donald Trump’s campaign, both the primaries and the general election, he talked about building a wall and stopping illegal aliens from entering the U.S. He told them not to come. After he won election and took office he did the same. Yet, somehow, he’s at fault for all the illegal aliens coming to the U.S. according to the Editorial Board featuring racist Sarah Jeong

Bordline Insanity
President Trump rained cruelties on immigrants and asylum seekers and now wants hundreds of millions of dollars to address the humanitarian crisis he caused.

Immigrants applies to coming legally. Which most did not. Most do not qualify for asylum even under the relaxed rule. This is where the biased news tag applies

As the government shutdown over President Trump’s demand for border-wall funding moves through week three, the administration is looking to cut a deal with Democrats by emphasizing the deepening humanitarian crisis at the border — a crisis caused in large part by this administration’s inhumane policies, political grandstanding and managerial incompetence.

In a letter Sunday to lawmakers, the White House laid out its latest proposal for addressing the border tumult. The administration called for more immigration and Border Patrol agents, more detention beds and, of course, $5.7 billion to build 234 new miles of border wall. The White House also demanded an additional $800 million for “urgent humanitarian needs,” such as medical support, transportation and temporary facilities for processing and housing detainees.

Translation: Mr. Trump’s mass incarceration of migrant families is overwhelming an already burdened system that, without a giant injection of taxpayer dollars, will continue to collapse, leading to ever more human suffering.

The situation is an especially rich example of the Trump Doctrine: Break something, then demand credit — and in this case a lot of money — for promising to fix it.

Translation: Trump is just supposed to allow every person who shows up at the border to cross in to the country and just let them go on their way.

Open borders.

That’s what the NYTEB is saying. What else is Trump supposed to do? He not only didn’t invite these people to show up, he told them not to. He specifically told the migrant caravans to not come. For those who do make it, the choice is to detain till a hearing or to release them, and the rate of people who show up for their hearing is low. Trump is having to respond to a crisis created by the open borders lobby, which has been protecting illegal aliens for decades and have all but offered an invitation to just come to the U.S. Many were helping the migrant caravans.

So, again, what does the NYTEB suggest we do with all these uninvited illegals? They do not say. But, the only other choice is to let them go vs detaining them. And, then, a couple years from now, Democrats will want to protect those illegals when caught and going through the deportation system, and want to reward them with citizenship, which entices more to come illegally.

  1. JGlanton says:

    Of course they blame Trump.

New York Times columnist Frank Bruni did his best to justify the paper’s coverage of the President, describing the negative coverage as “the only honest way to cover this President.”

  2. Mangoldielocks says:

Two-thirds of the Republican-led House approved the bill, including 64 Democrats, and 80 of 100 senators approved the bill in the Senate. Then Sens. Barack Obama, Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton were among the 26 Democrats who approved the bill. Supporters also included Sen. Chuck Schumer, who is set to take over leadership of the Senate for Democrats in 2016.
Other Democrats in the Senate who voted for the wall in 2006 are Sens. Barbara Boxer (CA), Sherrod Brown (OH — then in the House), Tom Carper (DE), Dianne Feinstein (CA), Barbara Mikulski (MD), Bill Nelson (FL), Debbie Stabenow (MI), and Ron Wyden (OR).

Democrats voted for a border wall. some of which was built. Most was not. 80 Senators voted for the wall.

Remember when the left believed that illegal immigration was costing jobs to their voters and depressing wages?? Anyone remember that mantra? Well its been replaced by the border wall is immoral.

Remember when the left actually made a little sense?

      H.R. 6061 (109th): Secure Fence Act of 2006

It passed both the House and Senate easily with strong bipartisan support and was signed by President Bush.

The Secure Fence Act was to build a fence, not The Wall.

The Secure Fence Act of 2006, which was passed by a Republican Congress and signed by President George W. Bush, authorized about 700 miles of fencing along certain stretches of land between the border of the United States and Mexico.

The act also authorized the use of more vehicle barriers, checkpoints and lighting to curb illegal immigration, and the use of advanced technology such as satellites and unmanned aerial vehicles.

Trump plans for The Wall are vague.

He said the wall doesn’t need to run the nearly 2,000 miles of the border, but about 1,000 miles because of natural barriers. He said it could cost between $8 billion and $12 billion, be made of precast concrete, and rise 35 to 40 feet, or 50 feet, or higher.

He has recently but inconsistently “softened” his description to include fencing.

There is no border emergency. Far fewer border crossers are being apprehended than in years past.

  3. Mangoldielocks says:

The reason Bush’s immigration reform did not work was because it was very apparent this was Washington D.C. and the wall would never get built. It was in fact funded and still is only about 20 percent complete and in most cases is nothing more than a chain link fence with a 1000 holes in it where bolt cutters cut right thru it in the middle of the night.

That is why the right revolted against Bush and his immigration reform. Lies, Lies and more lies from both sides to get millions of illegals on the voter rolls for the democrats and those in favor of a wall would be right, exactly where we are today.

The WALL IS IMORAL. Liars everyone of them.

  4. Mangoldielocks says:

The fence was never built. only about 200 miles of the 700 miles promised have been built. Why? Because this is Washington DC which passes legislation that is a lie to the American people. They make promises. They make you believe, then the people forget thinking the government is taking care of it and so they go on to something else.

Secondly anyone who has seen the fence can see 1000’s of holes cut in it by bolt cutters. It only slightly and partially works. Nah. It doesn’t work at all.

Yeah this Jethro fella is certainly a shill for the left. Paid to trot out the meme of the left on a daily basis with 100’s of posts on this site alone.

He does not consider the 10’s of thousands of crimes by illegals a crisis and yet the fifteen or twenty blacks killed by police each ear is a major crisis warranting marches and Professional sports boycotts.

I considered Detroit and Chicago a crisis. The left doesn’t. to do so would mean they FAILED their own voters.

  5. Kye says:

Come on, Jethro. “The crime rate for those unlawfully present is lower than for native born Americans? In your own words they are all committing a crime! But beside the silliness of the statement there is no way the bottom rung of second and third world countries, illegally entering America would have a “lower rate” of anything other than money, health and belief in American ideals. That is so pitifully silly to say it is sad. Any idiot who has read the news, looked at the internet blogs and bothered to look at the pictures of the “unlawfully present” cannot in good faith say they commit less crime than Americans . It’s plain stupid.

See, when you make statements like that which are demonstrably and observably untrue and based solely on propaganda people stop listening. You cannot just repeat the pro illegal propaganda of left wing anti American groups using ridiculous and nefarious “studies” by partisan groups and be expected to be taken seriously.

As far as most US cities having drug and crime problems that has been true for several decades and for those decades the democrat leftists running those cities have passed more and more draconian laws with no effect. But the different tribes of minorities in those cities, conditioned as they are to vote for their oppressors for the free cheese and section 8 housing keep the modern democrat plantations brimming with drugs and poverty and crime. Well done democrats, well done. Now convince me how all these democrat controlled cities were ruined by Trump and the out-of-power republicans. Go ahead, convince me.

    • Jethro says:

      Kye,

I’m just reporting what studies show. If you want to make the case that since they’re here unlawfully they’re automatically criminals, you can.

But the evidence shows that illegal immigrants commit fewer violent crimes and crimes against property than native born Americans. It seems disingenuous to pick out murderers and hold them up as an example for all Hispanic illegal immigrants.

Here’s just one example, but an online search yields many more such academic studies (from U Wisconsin-Madison).

      https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/1745-9125.12175

      From their abstract:

… fundamental questions about whether undocumented immigration increases violent crime remain unanswered. In an attempt to address this gap, we combine newly developed estimates of the unauthorized population with multiple data sources to capture the criminal, socioeconomic, and demographic context of all 50 states and Washington, DC, from 1990 to 2014 to provide the first longitudinal analysis of the macro‐level relationship between undocumented immigration and violence. The results from fixed‐effects regression models reveal that undocumented immigration does not increase violence. Rather, the relationship between undocumented immigration and violent crime is generally negative, although not significant in all specifications. Using supplemental models of victimization data and instrumental variable methods, we find little evidence that these results are due to decreased reporting or selective migration to avoid crime.

Your conservative “common sense” may instruct you that illegal immigrants are killers, but the evidence does not support your position.

Your cruel tirade against the poor living in our major cities is to be expected. Once a conservative refers to Section 8, free cheese and “the plantation” the discussion is over. We here that a lot from conservatives – that the minority “tribes” aren’t smart of sophisticated enough to vote in their own self interest. Or maybe they just recall it was conservative Americans who lynched them from trees. As you correctly point out, and I agree with, our urban minority ghettos are a national disgrace, but they obviously didn’t develop out of liberal actions. If interested, you could do an internet search on how government actions in coordination with the real estate developers and lenders created segregated neighborhoods.

      • Jl says:

From the above stats-189% more likely to be convicted of manslaughter (on top of the more likely 1st and 2nd degree murder) 45% more likely to be gang members…

  6. Kye says:

So then the fact that last night on the Maddow show Azzlick Occasional-Cotex stated “Every day immigrants commit crimes at a far lower rate than everyday Americans,” that illegal immigrants on the border “are acting more American than any person who seeks to keep them out ever will be,” had nothing to do with your statement?
Almost your words exactly! Plus, calling us less American than law breaking invaders because we demand the right to determine who enters our home is disgusting and about as low as this elitist b!tch can go. (I’m sure being a devout leftist she’ll find ways to go lower in the future. They always do.)

You can pick and choose any studies and stats you want but quite frankly one would need to be willfully ignorant to believe the lowest of the low from second and third world countries commit fewer crimes than “everyday Americans” since those Deplorable everyday Americans are 95% law abiding once you remove the minorities. And that’s the ugly truth none of those on the left want to discuss. Minorities in America perpetrate a disproportionate amount of crime and illegal immigration does little more than bring in millions more minorities. Do the math.

America was never and will never be all white and I don’t expect it to be, but I do expect when we PERMIT a person to enter our country we obligate that person to be crime free, healthy, educated and willing to work from day one. We cannot do that when they sneak across the border or over stay their visas. They then become illegal and the only pathway we should make available to them is a pathway to deportation with no possibility of return.

    • Jethro says:

      Kye,

Not sure who you’re talking about, but I’ve understood the data on immigrant crime rates for a long time, certainly before last night. I assume you mean Representative Ocasio-Cortez – she stretches the truth a bit too much for my taste, but I wouldn’t call her an elitist bitch, anymore than I’d call Trump a mother@cker. I don’t watch Rachel Maddow as she lies, too – not as much as Hannity, but she is a serial misinformer. Visit FactCheck or politifact and you’ll see Maddow and Ocasio-Cortez being shown to “shade” the truth from time to time. I do not favor eliminating ICE.

All I can go on is actual data and evidence, not feelings or intuition. There are reasons that immigrants are careful not to break the law – it can result in their deportation. Most want to work and take care of their families.

It seems like you have a problem with Americans who are not white and male. Do you think Black Americans and brown immigrants are somehow inferior to their Caucasian brothers and sisters?

  7. StillAlive says:

This story still gets misdirected from the core problem. CRIME is flooding across the border along with good people.

The good people can get in line and be let in after they apply for entry. The border wall will shut down MS-13 gang members, cartel drug members and keep Americans SAFER!

The democrats HATE Americans. They hate Americans. They hate women and children and working class families. Their only concern is letting the masses flood America for VOTES. They do not give a shit about America and Americans except how it gives them power to RUN YOUR LIVES.

They have become hostages to their own base. Illegals, Hispanics and gang members. They cloak it in the right is bigots and homophobes. So be it. If hating and loathing MS-13 murdering thugs makes me a racist. Then guilty as charged!!!

    • Jethro says:

I also hate MS-13 murderous thugs!!

But not sure the Democratic base is made up of the undocumented, Hispanics and gang members. And you hinted at LGBTQs too. It’s a common misconception that illegal immigrants vote.

You claim that Democrats hate Americans; especially women and children and working families. Do you not consider Blacks, immigrants, Hispanics, Muslims and LGBTQ folks to be Americans? Or just not “real” Americans? You know, white and Christian from suburbs and small towns?

  8. Kye says:

Jethro, please don’t lob in Blacks, Hispanics, Muslims and LGBTQ in with “immigrants” when you call them Americans. Immigrants are not Americans. Once an immigrant becomes an American then you can lob them in but until then they are citizens of whatever country they came from but they are not Americans.

  9. Kye says:

Jethro stated: “It’s a common misconception that illegal immigrants vote”.
Sorry again, Jethro. Just repeating leftist propaganda is not proof and quite frankly with the volume of illegals being in the tens of millions a reasonable person would be hard pressed to believe that some of them vote. Especially in places like Cali. with sanctuary crap and motor voter registration.

But here are a few samples from a report from NBC/NYT:
In 2014, NBC found dozens of illegal aliens voting in Florida.
In Kansas, Victor David Garcia Bebek, a Peruvian national, voted in 2012 and 2014.
In November 2016, there were 6,540 same-day registrants in New Hampshire who registered to vote in New Hampshire using out-of-state driver’s licenses to prove their identity.
In Sacramento, California, two illegal aliens voted five times in 2016.
The Public Interest Legal Foundation found over a thousand persons whovoted illegally in Virginia.
In Cincinnati, a poll worker found her dead neighbor’s name on an active voter registry.
In Maryland, several Democratic city governments are allowing noncitizens to fraudulently vote in elections.
In Ft. Worth, Leticia Sanchez formed a mail-in voter fraud ring, which included helping a blind voter. Just prior to being arrested, she warned her minions that a group of “malicious people” were investigating.
Broward County Election Supervisor Brenda Snipes refused to turn over voting records on the counting and collection of ballots, despite the law saying she had to. There were many irregularities in that 2018 election, such as there being more voters on rolls than actual citizens. s Some 80,000 individuals filled out blank voting forms. Broward County has seen past instances of voter fraud, always in favor of Democrats, the key beingabsentee ballots. “Irregularities” also occurred in Santa Rosa, Citrus, and Okaloosa counties. To date, no one has been arrested.
California turned solid blue in 2018, thanks partly to fraud through “ballotharvesting.”
Nine Mexican-Americanswere caught in Edinburg, Texas for engaging in voter fraud.
Elsewhere in Texas, the Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF), alerted district attorneys in Starr and Hidalgo Counties about altered voter applicationssent by the Texas Democratic Party to South Texas noncitizens.
Again in Texas, Marcela Gutierrez, a noncitizen, was indicted by a Hidalgo County for marking a ballotwithout a voter’s consent in a 2016 election.
More than 4,500 ballots were cast in Milwaukee than registered voters in the 2018 election.
In North Carolina, 24 illegal aliens were caught voting in the 2016 elections. 19 foreign nationals were also charged.
“The Public Interest Legal Foundation, a nonprofit specializing in election integrity, found that non-Americans are being added to voter rolls in states such as Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Virginia. The group says that a large portion of the non-citizens even managed to cast their ballots in elections as well. For instance, in 2017, the group found that nearly 5,600 people on the voter rolls in Virginia were deemed as non-citizens, with a third of them voting in previous elections.”
This summer, 19 noncitizens were indicted for voting in the 2016 election.
More than 3,000 foreign nationals were removed from voter rolls across 13 sanctuary jurisdictions from 2006 to 2018, most of them in Virginia.
In 2016, North Carolina saw hundreds of instances of double voting, voter impersonation, and noncitizen voting.
Bexar County in Texas, which contains San Antonio, concealed records of noncitizen voting.
Meantime, nearby Harris County (Houston), refused to allow inspection of voter rolls.
Charges of election fraud and fraudulent application for ballot by mail were leveled at Erika Lozano-Pelayo of Starr County is located west of McAllen, Texas. Starr County is one of 13 counties reporting more than 100% voter registration. At the same time, Ernestina Barron was arrested on three counts of election fraud, and three counts of a fraudulent application for ballot by mail.
5,500 noncitizens discovered on Virginia voter rolls.
In 2015, 141 U.S. counties were found to have more registered voters than people.
7.2 million voters are registered in multiple states.
In 2016, in Marion County, Indiana, 12 employees of a Democratic-linked voter recruitment organization were caught submitting fake voter registration applications.
Rhode Island was found to have 150,000 names in voter rolls which should not have been there.
A 2017 report showed that at minimum, there were 45,000 duplicate voters in 2016.
The Public Interest Legal Foundation reported that there are more than 100,000 non-U.S. citizens are registered voters in Pennsylvania.
In 2018, California’s DMV admitted registering 1,500 foreigners to vote in U.S. elections.
Habersham County, Georgia’s Mud Creek precinct had 276 registered voters, yet 670 votes were cast in a May 2018 primary.
In 2018, a volunteer for the Beto campaign urged followers to transport undocumented aliens to the polls.
Again in 2018 in California, there were 23,000 California DMV voter-registration failures.
In 2018, a number of Democratic-controlled cities (San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, and others) opened up voting rights to illegal aliens. In fact, San Francisco spent $385,000 to help 61 noncitizens vote illegally.
The gadfly Project Veritas filmed a Hispanic poll voter telling someone to bring in illegals to vote. The individual has not been arrested.
And speaking of being filmed, Florida Democratic Party attorney Leonard Samuels, declared that destroying ballots is not fraud.
In 2017, Jonathan Marks, commissioner for Pennsylvania’s Bureau of Commissions, Elections, and Legislation, confirmed that noncitizens had voted hundreds of times in elections.
In 2010, two Democratic officials in Michigan, Jason Bauer and Mike McGuinness, conspired to defraud the election. They were given a slap on the wrist when caught.
In California, 194 people voted more than once in the 2016 presidential primary. None were arrested.
In Hialeah in 2012, Deisy Penton de Cabrera was found with numerous ballots that didn’t belong to her. The ballots she had belonged to elderly people, most of whom were blind, deaf, or had Alzheimer’s.
In Arkansas, Former Democratic State Rep. Hudson Hallum, his father, and a few campaign workers altered ballots and were caught and arrested.
The Los Angeles County Registrar dismissed accusations of ballot miscounting in the 2018 election. (it was later established they were off by 12,000 democrat votes)

Keep in mind also that these are just a tiny portion of detected transgressions. How many more illegal acts have occurred that have gone unnoticed? After all, voting illegally is child’s play, with no checks and balances and a minimum of negative repercussions. Since Republican voters are almost always the victim and the Republican Party is without doubt the Stupid Party, this stomach-churning travesty will continue.
