Tolerance: Student Forced To Remove Patriotic Trump Jersey

Over the past 10 years we’ve seen teachers go ga-ga over Barack Obama. They’ve had kids sing odes to him, they’ve named schools after him, they’ve worshiped him. Schools have gone loony in openly supporting the Leftist agenda in tons of ways. But, supporting duly and Constitutionally elected President Donald Trump quietly?

Harnett school principal forces student to remove Trump jersey at patriotic-themed football game

Mike Collins is disappointed about how he says his 18-year-old son was treated during a high school football game after wearing a jersey printed with President Donald Trump’s name.

“I think any mother or father would feel like I feel,” stated Collins.

The theme during Harnett Central High School’s football game Friday was to dress patriotically for USA America night.

Collins says his son chose to wear the jersey, which was given to him as a gift by a family friend.

Mike wasn’t accused of doing anything other than simply wearing the jersey. He wasn’t creating a scene, there’s no accusations of impropriety.

The Harnett County school district spokeswoman Natalie Ferrell said in a statement “While we cannot comment on specific student issues, the Harnett County Schools supports and affirms students’ rights to express themselves. As long as the expression does not disrupt, and is not reasonably expected to disrupt, the educational mission of the school system, these rights include wearing clothing expressing political messages or supporting political candidates.”

In other words this was the Heckler’s Veto, whereby Mike’s 1st Amendment rights were shut down because a few in attendance, mostly likely led by the school staff, were having a tizzy.

The dad says he’s not planning any legal action, but, did consult an attorney, and the school board did proclaim that they’d make it right. Well, should have done the proper thing in the first place. Especially in a county which went 60.7% for Trump in 2016.

The sad part of this is that the the student in question should have refused, and then let the school take what action it would. It’s a shame that we need to put that burden on high schoolers, but that’s what it has come down to these days.

  2. Jethro says:

Would you support a jersey with:

    20 to Life

Schools have leeway in what they allow students to wear, at least according to Supreme Court rulings.

And why would how the county voted have to do with rights??

    • formwiz says:

Actually, they don’t when it comes to free speech. The kid was expressing an opinion protected by the First Amendment and, no, they don’t. Not with this.

Because everybody has a right to like whom they want.

      Jeffery is an Antifa wannabe.

      • Jethro says:

Are you OK with “Jesus Sucks!” T-shirts? Or “Your God is a Myth!”. “Catholics Bugger Better!”

Do you think it is unconstitutional for schools to require uniforms, or for workplaces to limit what you wear to work, or even what you say?

Why doesn’t Con-type ‘freedom of speech’ apply to the workplace?

Here’s a little light reading on free speech in schools:

        • formwiz says:

It applies everywhere. You’d know that if you ever held a job.

And I’ve seen enough lawsuits on T-shirts and free speech to know the courts will enforce a kid’s right as much as anybody else’s.

    • Mangoldielocks says:

Sure as long as we can wear one that says Obama 20 to Life and HRC, 20 to Life.

      Fair is fair. Right?

      • Liljeffyatemypuppy says:

        Strawman much, little fella?

      • Jethro says:

Wear whatever you wish. We assume you out of school and working. In that case, it’s your employer who can limit what Cons think is ‘freedom of speech’.

        • formwiz says:

You may not have a job, but you can push your rights as hard as you want.

That’s been through the courts plenty, too.

    • A message like you suggest would be out of bounds, Jeff, as would a Lock Her Up jersey, or something negative towards Obama. Had it been the same jersey but with Obama 44, I would have zero problems.

  3. david7134 says:

I am surprised that the father allowed the son to wear the shirt as it exposes him to harm or death due to the idiot actions of liberals like jeff. After all, Jeff has threatened the presidents life and is stupid enough to support Obama who is the worst president we ever had. Then our man Jeff makes really ignorant statements such as Trump going to jail.

    • Jethro says:

Lock him up! Lock him up! Lock him up! LOL

“There are no silver spoons or gold toilets in stir. Better buckle up, Buttercup!”

      • formwiz says:

Again, Jeffery uses that buttercup as if he’s tougher than The Donald. Trump has stopped armed robberies in progress (yes, it’s documented).

And he really better watch his mouth. The Feds will be around to visit him.

        • Jethro says:

Oh Buttercup, you’re so danged adorable when you’re flustered. We’ll stop using Buttercup if it upsets you so. We understand how fragile the Cons have become.

Not sure why you think this is about tRump. “stopped armed robbery” — Here’s how the identified witness saw it:

Kathleen Romeo, a 16-year-old student at St. Michael’s Academy in Manhattan, said cries of “There’s Trump!” went through the crowd of onlookers when the erstwhile deal maker emerged from his limousine in front of a Smiler’s deli.
“A lot of people were surprised that he got out to see what was happening,” Romeo said, adding that the bat-wielder ran off just before Trump actually appeared, and that Trump, “just looked around and went back into his limo.”

No police report was ever filed.

The feds will come after those that propose tRump be locked up??? So much for an open and free country, LOL.

          • formwiz says:

Wouldn’t happen to have a source for that? Wouldn’t have linked that?

Of course not. The idea of some faux male such as yourself actually standing behind what he says is not your code, is it?

          • Jethro says:

            Lil Buttercup,

It was from the newspaper article describing the “incident”. You claimed tRump had stopped and armed robbery, but didn’t offer a citation.

            How short is your memory?

  4. Jethro says:

We’ve never seen the always fearful snowflake cons so scared as they are today at all those women yelling at them. LOL.

Not since the snowflake neoNazi broke down and cried when he found the police wanted him. LOL.

Poor babies. Those mean ladies are scaring you snowflakes sh!tless!! What a laugh.

So first you claim libs are all girly, pajama-boy faggots in high heels, but next you’re piss your panties terrified of them. Which is it?

    • formwiz says:

It’s the Lefties that are afraid of white women. Don’t you read the Gray Lady?

Not since the snowflake neoNazi broke down and cried when he found the police wanted him.

Which obscure incident is this, dare I ask, or are we talking about Brother Bret getting angry over the lies told about him? Seems to me, the Lefties are concerned a man standing up for himself has inspired the whole country to rally behind him.

So first you claim libs are all girly, pajama-boy faggots in high heels, but next you’re piss your panties terrified of them

We’ve been laughing at them. You’re the ones terrified of women. It’s why you have to invent hundreds of genders so you can explain why you’re repelled by them and attracted to men.

    • Well, could be because those leftist women and gamma-males are a threat to become violent at anytime and at the drop of the hat. And then they play the Victim over the violence they started. We would prefer not to have to get into a physical altercation.

      • Jethro says:

Yet, it’s right wing terrorists doing all the killing. White supremacists, anti-government radicals, skinheads, KKKers, neoNazis, anti-abortionistas, Christian identity groups…

You’re making up stories to help with the election. We get it. We understand why you want to suppress protests against your god-king. Tyrants do it all the time. In fact, tRump’s buddies and business partners in Saudi Arabia murdered a dissident-journalist this week.

  5. […] the story on a high school kid in Harnett County, NC, who was told to remove his patriotic Trump jersey or […]

  6. formwiz says:

It is? Where? Rand Paul, Steve Scalise, McConnell being harangued are the violence that comes to mind.

But that is the party line, innit? The old “You’re just being paranoid” coupled with a lot of projection to salve the weak minds like Jeffery.

Antifa, BLM, all the usual suspects are making the news. The only right wing violence always seems to turn out to be some Lefty making it up.

    Just like you.

tRump’s buddies and business partners in Saudi Arabia murdered a dissident-journalist this week.

    Prove it.

PS If that’s an excerpt from an article, where’s the link?

      Previously Buttercup typed:

Trump has stopped armed robberies in progress (yes, it’s documented).

      Where is THAT link, Buttercup?

An aside – do you only get your ‘news’ from FOX, tEach, tRump and Gateway Pudendum? You seem very limited in what is in the broader world.

      • formwiz says:

        You first, sweetie.

Broader world? You mean the Daily Worker? Stuff like that? MSLSD? Puffington? Slate?

I get my news from all over. As any fool (that means you) can tell by my links.

BTW Gateway does cite all its sources. So, they’re a lot more trustworthy and credible than you.

        • Jethro says:

You made the initial claim, our sweet little buttercup. You typed: Trump has stopped armed robberies, implying the brave Don stopped more than one armed robbery.

We found a New York Daily News article with the quote from the witness. Are there more that you’re aware of?
