It’s time to get serious about climate change
When former Vice President Al Gore released his documentary in 2006 entitled An Inconvenient Truth, somehow the public was lectured with the consequences of global warming. Some may have missed it or did not pay attention. But truth of the matter-climate change is real.
That’s when he was blaming pleasant, warm weather on Other People taking fossil fueled flights.
Climate change has showed its severe impact in large scale destruction in mankind and the environment we are living in. The unrolling cold weather that continues to blanket the eastern U.S. can be an example of the biggest changes that we have to expect entering this new year.
Many experts are also blaming this cold season on climate change-at least it is part of the problem.
If Warmists want to get serious, why don’t they practice what they preach? Why do so many of them seem to have higher carbon footprints than non-Warmists?
Notice that the link is from a Chicago outlet. In the same Chicago Tribune, they just tied an 80+ year old for number of days below freezing. Raleigh, and many others, have done the same. On one hand, they’ll say “this is just weather.” In the next “it’s climate change!!!!!!”

Wait. I thought our side were the Climate realists. As in, trusting what they can see instead of what models tell them their lying eyes should see.
Sorry Professor, your side refuses to recognize the reality of climate change. What one can see is that thermometers tell us the Earth is warming. And there is no reason to believe the warming will stop on its own short some catastrophe such as nuclear winter, volcanic winter or an asteroid strike.
Your side doesn’t realize that the Earth and its people are already seeing the effects of climate change – and this from just 1C warming. And there is no reason to believe the warming will stop at 1C. If we’re responsible (and a bit lucky) maybe we stop it at 2C.
Your side believes that mere humans can’t impact the Earth’s climate even as mere humans have increased the level of CO2 in the atmosphere by 40%. And there is no reason to believe that the increase in CO2 will stop until we reduce our emissions of CO2.
So no, your side is not on the side of climate realism.
Which effects would those be?
Droughts? No, because the number and severity of droughts have NOT increased in the last 120 years. In fact, have declined over the last few years.
Maybe tornadoes? Nope. The number of EF1+ tornadoes has been decreasing for the last 30+ years.
Hurricanes? Again no. The frequency of these has also been falling over the last 30+ years.
Wild fires? HA!! Again becoming less frequent.
Maybe you don’t like the fact that the Earth is now 25% greener. Meaning more plants, more crops and longer growing seasons to produce more food.
Or maybe you don’t like that humans are better equipped to survive in warmer climates than colder as evidenced by the larger death rates in winter as opposed to summer.
Again, ‘our side’ doesn’t deny that the climate is changing. We disagree with the cause. There is no proof that human activities are having any significant effect on the climate.
You speak of realism so here’s some for you. The NOAA in October, using their wonderful climate models, predicted that this winter would be unusually warm and dry for the United States. As we all can see, this is a miserable failure of a prediction. If these wonderful, all knowing scientists and models can’t accurately predict what will happen in just a couple months in the future, how can we trust them to predict what will happen 100 years from now. The only real thing these models show is that we have absolutely no idea how the climate really works and what really drives it.
But by all means, let’s tax people and wreck economies based on a theory that has yet to be proven and by all observed data, is completely bogus.

1. Your side wants to impoverish hundreds of millions of people with higher fuel prices so that well connected billionaires and foreign aristocrats can get wealthy beyond the dreams of mere mortals.
2. Your side doesn’t care how many real people freeze to death in real live winter every year because they get priced out of the fuel market, so that large oil companies, shareholders, and Al Gore can make huge profits from the sale of carbon credits.
This isn’t an academic argument about tenths of degrees Celsius or thousandths of millimeters of ocean rise or potential fictional catastrophes in some distant future. It has nothing to do with pointless climate vs weather monologs. It’s not about science. It’s about real measurable hardship intentionally inflicted on real people last year, this year, and next year so that wealthy politicians and their wealthy friends around the world can get wealthier in perpetuity while managing to produce nothing that anyone will ever be able to see or hold them accountable for. It’s about the real money that is written in bold print in the Kyoto treaty and the Paris accords. Money the USA pays and everyone else collects. Communists have never cared how many millions of people they need to kill to get to the top and stay there and the modern environmentalist movement is no different. Real people, really freezing to death every year.

It’s a fact that the Earth is warming from the increased levels of CO2 in the atmosphere. It’s a fact that the CO2 comes from us Earthlings burning fossil fuels.
And of course “greening” is not the only impact of increased CO2, but nice conflation (global warming and increased CO2 are not the same thing, although one is causing the other). Ocean acidification is a real thing, too.
Tony Wuwt and Pierre Gosselin and Jo Nova may have persuaded you but actual scientists find that global warming is impacting droughts, floods, sea level, growing seasons, sea ice, glaciers and heat waves. The ground is getting drier (the warmed air holds more water vapor). And there is no good reason to believe any of this will stop and the Earth continues to warm.
Yet little guy still never provides any proof that CO2 causes warming in a convective atmosphere like the one we have on Earth.

I’m still waiting for somebody to take the latest models, feed them data from 30 years ago and before, and have the model accurately predict what’s happening now.
Climate models are theory. When theory doesn’t predict now, it sure as shootin’ can’t predict the future.
And yet, just as predicted, the Earth continues to warm. Go figure.
Warmth is not prove of causation, Jeffrey. Just warming. As happened multiple times in the Holocene. And that’s the debate, causation. If your side is so sure it’s mostly/solely anthropogenic, why are so few Warmists giving up their own use of fossil fuels and going carbon neutral?

Anyway, A 0.1 degree Celsius increase in mean ocean temperature (surface and deep abyss) amounts to a massive amount of retained heat. Massive. It’s why an El Nino can cause 2C spike in mean global surface temperatures. You should look up “specific heat” as it relates to H2O.
It’s interesting that, as it suits their “arguments”, science deniers prefer proxy measurements, even with only 250 year discrimination, to thermometers. LOL. Their precision (admitted by the scientists) is only 0.2C, so they can’t measure changes less than that.
Anyway, NOAA had determined long ago that the deep oceans are not warming, that the mass of warming is resulting in the top 2 miles (that’s still a lot of water!).

So the parts of the ocean that interact with our atmosphere are warming rapidly, just as predicted. When you average the overall ocean temperature (including the deep abyss) you get a smaller number, at least as represented by nobel gases measured in the air. Science! You should try it.
