Kids are weird. They want all sorts of things that may not be good for them, and a parent’s job is to attempt to mitigate the nutty behavior, especially when it can cause real big problems, not to help propagate that behavior. (Daily Caller) A 12-year-old Australian transgender boy, who transitioned into a girl two years ago, is featured in an upcoming episode of Australian “60 Minutes†– where he reveals that he no longer wants to be a girl.
After doctors diagnosed Patrick Mitchell with gender dysphoria he begged his mother to let him take female replacement hormones, The Independent reported.
Gender dysphoria is considered by the American Psychiatric Association (APA) to be a “mental disorder,†while the World Health Organization (WHO) recognizes it as a “mental illness.â€
He received support from his mom, who allowed him to take hormone therapy, and began to grow breasts
“In the beginning of 2017, teachers at school began to refer to him as a girl which triggered Mitchell to question if he had made the right decision,†the independent added.
After reflecting on the decision to become a girl, Mitchell decided that he no longer wanted to be a girl.
“I began to realize I was actually comfortable in my body. Every day I just felt better,†Mitchell said.
Now he will need surgery to remove the breasts. This is a lesson that parents should take charge and realize that a child is not competent to make this kind of decision, nor go through with this kind of insanity. If the child wants to do this to themselves when they become an adult, fine, that’s their mental disorder.
Neither citation in the DC quote supports their claim. If it’s in the Daily Caller you should be cautious.

The real question is why is the left so obsessed with sex in general? The left to me seems to be
more than obsessed with gays, lesbians, transgenders, drag queens and every other form of sexual orientation. And let us not forget to mention the obsession with birth control and abortion.

So you believe that a 10 year old or 12 year old is capable of making life changing decisions by themselves? This seems to be the argument made here. Not whether a man or woman can change their sexual identity.
Does this mean you believe that all 10 year olds should be able to expel massive amounts of co2 into the atmosphere at their whim because they are after all exercising their human rights? What about doing crack, cocaine, LSD, Shrooms. I mean after all it is their right to make life changing choices at 10 is that not correct. They are exercising their human rights by breaking the laws of the land such as sneaking over the border into the USA.

Why is it a crime to have sex with a 10 year old yet the same 10 year old can change their own sexual identity? Is it not because society deems them incapable of understanding their choice or being fully able to make said choice?
Why is it a crime to drink under age. Drive a car under age. Do ten thousand things under age and yet it is perfectly acceptable in leftist circles to cause a traumatic behavioral change under age?
The criticism here is not with the boys desire to become a girl at age 10. The criticism is with the parents who at age 10 allowed the boy to make the change only to later regret said decision. Nor do I think is it the desire for the right to control anything.
As for your lamentations about the right wanting to control women or sex. Well keep lamenting because somethings will never change. One of those things is protecting the unborn. Another is making sure that children are protected. Even if that means protected against their own childish wants.

The child didn’t make the decisions, but rather the parents did with doctors, and in our opinion the decisions were flawed. Are you suggesting that Australia institute stricter laws governing parenting and the medical profession?
My question to Mr. TEACH, and that you refuse to address, is why Mr. TEACH seems to care so much? Is he concerned about children or more likely does he use this opportunity to criticize the transgendered? Why does he seem to care so much? The transgendered cost him no money, they don’t bother him (except by their mere existence).

Many medical professionals familiar with the area consider 12 yr old to be too young for hormone therapy. The guidelines in the US typically do not start that early.
Sometimes people reconsider elective medical procedures, e.g., cosmetic surgeries. With millions of transgendered worldwide, it’s not surprising to find one who changed their mind.
