Say, Which Cities Are The Most “Hyper-segregated”?

It’s no longer just segregated. It’s Hypersegregated

Which U.S. cities have become the most ‘hypersegregated?’ | Princeton study

About a third of all black metropolitan residents lived in a “hypersegregated” city as of 2010, according to Princeton University researchers.

“If you look at the cityscape of the United States, hypersegregated cities are the places where our most severe problems of urban poverty, of racial inequality, of racial violence of various sorts are taking the most fervent root,” said Douglas Massey, a sociology and public affairs professor at Princeton University.

Hypersegregated areas are those where black residents experience high levels of various forms of segregation, according to a study published in the journal Demography coauthored by Massey and Princeton graduate student Jonathan Tannen.

Of course, this certainly can’t go to Black people segregating themselves in their own communities, as often happens with other flavors of people by religion, race, nationality, creed, income, or other factors. What they really mean is White People blocking off Blacks in Big Cities while fleeing for the suburbs, to get away from falling social capital, falling property values, failing school systems, increasing crime, and increasing taxation, which, strangely, the survey and article forget to mention that the Big Cities tend to be very Left leaning and overwhelmingly vote Democrat.

One of those “hypersegregated” cities is Detroit, which is almost 90% Black, and many of the people get very upset when “gentrification” occurs.

“The places that are hypersegregated today are the nation’s large urban black ghettos — New York, Chicago, Cleveland, Milwaukee, St. Louis and Philadelphia,” Massey said. “Although we’ve clearly made progress, the problems in many ways are becoming more intractable because there are now generations of black families in these places that have lived under conditions of hypersegregation and a high concentration of poverty.”

So, Democrat policies have been pretty bad for Blacks?

“Hypersegregation produces high levels of social isolation from mainstream society, but also high concentrations of poverty and disadvantage,” Massey said.

Huh. It’s almost like Rich White Liberal Democrats have created reservations for Black people, reservations of poverty, high crime, poor education, poor property values, and low social and economic capital. Then the RWLDs promise money and stuff, while whipping up the Black people regarding raaaaacism and entitlement, all for votes.

Teach the highest rates of poverty do not occur in cities the highest rates of poverty occur in non metro and rural areas
The highest rates of poverty also occur most often in red states
By most measures 9 out of the 10 poorest vote red
They also appear at the bottom of most other lists such as education of health
This is one reason that blue states in general pay more to DC and get less than they pay
Red states get more money from the Feds and give them less AND then complain that fed taxes are too high. Go figure

In one way, that’s right: I have noted previously that the white working class is deserting the Democrats. Why, it’s almost as though they have heard the Democrats’ promises and seen the Democrats’ polices put into action, and discovered that they don’t actually work!

Kentucky is a great example: people think of the Bluegrass State as totally Republican, but it isn’t. The Governor is a Democrat, and the state House of Representatives is not only controlled by the Democrats, but the Democrats actually increased their majority slightly in the 2014 elections . . . the same elections in which Democrat Alison Lundergan Grimes, the elected Secretary of State and not a non-serious candidate, lost the Senate race to Mitch McConnell by a huge margin, losing counties that Mr McConnell had never carried before, eve when facing only token opposition.

The difference? Kentucky’s local and state Democrats are moderate and reasonable Democrats, people who do radical things like balance budgets and try to take care of the public, while the national Democratic Party seems only interested in abortion and protecting perverts and spending money we don’t have. Kentucky’s Democrats, as unedumacated as you think they are, are discerning enough to note the difference.

The working class are deserting the national Democratic Party because the national Democrats are trying to do the impossible: they are trying to be the party of the working man and the party of the non-working man at the same time, and that just doesn’t add up.

Good God, John, try reading the article and stay on-task. Who gives a shit about your specious cut-and-paste (and look to see what color those concentrations of poverty are in those red states. Hint: blue). I know reading is hard, and comprehension is even harder, so see if you can drum up a cut-and-paste about ghettofication and causation, and the strengthening balkanization of those areas, and maybe you’ll catch up.

Not entirely. Eastern Kentucky is one of the poorest areas of the country, and the population is about 98% white, and they are going Republican.
