We’re Saved: Warmists To Take Lots Of Fossil Fueled Flights To Davos To Complain About Fossil Fuels

Via Twitchy

One of the main points of complaint regarding climate change will, of course, be fossil fuels, as it has been for over a decade. The complaints from Warmists regarding fossil fuels have been growing by leaps and bounds. Strange how Warmists continuously refuse to give up the use of fossil fuels themselves, and, in fact, are the worst offenders.

Heck, even the UK Guardian, a fantastic example of hyper-far left progressivism, noticed, and highlight the hypocrisy in a typical dry, British manner

How many private jets? An estimated 60% of the heads of state and industry invited will be taking about 1,700 private flights in and out of Zurich and other airports to attend.

To attend discussions about climate change, overconsumption, man-made pollution, unsustainable living, that sort of thing? Yes. What’s your point? (snip)

Do you not think that’s a little hypocritical? In what way?

Are you being deliberately obtuse? You don’t get to Davos by taking notice of little people’s complaints.

Those last two lines have to be take together for full impact.

Of course, most Warmists will immediately find exotic excuses to protect the climahypocrites, and will certainly yammer about everyone getting together to move beyond a fossil fueled world.

1700 Private Jets to fly rich people in, liberals all i’d guess, to discuss climate change?

More likely is that they’re discussing ways to enrich themselves further, using climate change as the means to do so.

Hypocrisy is a poor argument. Unfortunately, it’s a standard of the left.

One of our resident warmists here will say that the actions of these people doesn’t disprove the theory of AGW.

What it does show is the lack of conviction to what these people will say is a global problem that must be solved now, etc. If they lack conviction to not only reduce what they say is a problem, but increase the problem, why should anyone take them seriously?

We know they have falsified data. We know they cannot make the models work. We know they have made false statements or at least statements that are questionable. Now this flying in jets while they will demand that others give up their gas cars.

Hypocrisy may be a “bad argument,” but it doesn’t take away from the point that the very people that are preaching to others don’t believe in what they say.

  3. John says:

Teach the amount of CO2 they’re going to be polluting is not significant
Your post is about something that is insignificant
It is like you are bitching that they left the lights on in their hotel room

  4. david7134 says:

    John,
Always remember that your own leaders, Gruber and bunch, consider you to be stupid. That means that everything that you know or think you know is nothing but pure manipulation and propaganda. In every aspect of your life, your buds on the left are filling your poor head with misinformation. In this case, the amount of CO2 is actually very high considering the purpose of the trip and the small number of individuals.

  5. Is anyone surprised that John immediately comes up with an excuse?

Is anyone surprised that John immediately comes up with an excuse?

    No. Of course not.

But even his excuse falls apart when examined.

Aren’t we told that we all need to do “our share” and that “little changes” make a huge difference?

Yet john dismisses those “little changes” and “our share” because when it comes to liberals and liberal trolls, it is for the other people to step up to the plate. Not them.

  7. Phil Taylor says:

    Dear William:

Your email address [email protected] bounces back. What is it please?

    Regards

  8. have to remove the “NOSPAM”

“Always remember that your own leaders, Gruber and bunch, consider you to be stupid.”

Excellent point. The confirmation is that they still don’t get it.

  10. Jeffery says:

It’s shocking when conservatives criticize multinational corporations! But it’s a little dishonest to cast the World Economic Forum in Davos as a meeting of “warmists”, isn’t it? But we’re used to Science Deniers lying.

The World Economic Forum: The foundation is funded by its 1,000 member companies, typically global enterprises with more than five billion dollars in turnover (varying by industry and region). These enterprises rank among the top companies within their industry and/or country and play a leading role in shaping the future of their industry and/or region.

Big shot CEOs travel by corporate jets (subsidized by taxpayers in most nations). Two thirds of the attendees in Davos are from the corporations that finance it all. They are hardly liberals or “warmists”. They work to coordinate their corporations money-making activities with the governments that enable them. If these corporate execs take global warming seriously it’s only the context of how it will impact their businesses.

Do you think some corporations consider global warming a threat to their business?

One of the resident Science Deniers here worries that criticizing CEOs for flying in corporate jets won’t falsify the theory of AGW. He is right to worry. The fact of global warming doesn’t depend on what Science Deniers think. Global warming results from physical processes, not from the imaginings of those who Deny physical processes.

  11. And there’s Jeff’s contribution to Excuse Making.

  12. Jeffery says:

And here I thought I was just correcting your misinformation.

So when a few thousand 0.1%ers fly to Davos to plot how they’re going to gouge more money out of the rubes, and also discuss how the clearly warming Earth is going to impact their ability to fleece the rubes, you call them warmists.

    Curiouser and curiouser.

    Try telling the truth.

  13. gitarcarver says:

“….more than 40 heads of state and government and 300 members of government will attend. Academia will be strongly represented this year with, among others, 14 Nobel Laureates participating. In total, the Forum has invited over 800 participants from the public sector and civil society”

Teach doesn’t need me to defend his post, but it is clear Jeffery that he is not the one lying – you are.
