Obama To Meet With Community Agitators For Ferguson Discussions

Will they be discussing how to keep people who are part of his voting base from rioting and looting and vandalizing and burning cars and buildings? Or simply blaming the police, whipping up the emotions as is typical?

(The Hill) President Obama on Monday will focus on the relationship between local police and the communities they protect and serve in the wake of sometimes violent protests in Ferguson, Mo.

Obama will meet with Cabinet members to discuss a review the president ordered in August of federal funding and programs that provide equipment to state and local law enforcement agencies, according to the White House.

Law enforcement officials were criticized for their militarized response to protests in Ferguson after a police officer shot and killed an unarmed black teenager, Michael Brown. A grand jury last week refused to indict Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson in the case.

There’s no doubt that police may have been a bit heavy handed in the beginning, and there is a concern with all their militarized equipment. That said, as time went on it became apparent that it was needed, what with all the rioting and violence, including attacks on law enforcement officers.

After meeting with his Cabinet, Obama will gather young civil rights leaders to the Oval Office, the White House said. Topics for that discussion will include the mistrust between law enforcement and communities of color.

In other words, the police will bear the brunt of the blame, rather than communities with lots of crime and a bad attitude towards law and order.

Later Monday, the president will meet with elected officials, community, civil rights and faith leaders, and law enforcement officials. That meeting will center on ways communities and law enforcement can work together to build trust to strengthen neighborhoods.

Here’s an idea: stop cursing the police, stop throwing things at the police, don’t charge the police, and listen to the police when they say “Stop! Get on the ground!” Trust is a two way street. Yes, there are bad and/or overbearing/overzealous police officers and police departments out there. Everyone wants to simply focus on law enforcement, while ignoring the problems in the community. What kind of community is Ferguson when the loot and burn their own business?

As Breitbart notes, hyper-Progressive NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio will be in attendance, because it’s important for him to be there to offer his advice on how to take over a town and implement policies that increase the crime rate.

Also, while not officially announced, Al Sharpton may well be in attendance, because, we all know that when you need a voice of reason and peaceful intent, Sharpton is the guy you call.

Expect this to result in Blaming The Police and creation of more victimhood.

  1. Jeffery says:

The answer to this problem is obvious. All young Black men should assert their 2nd Amendment rights and carry Remington 870 pump shotguns (3″ mag, full choke, BB shot) so they can fight back against police who harass them.

Perhaps that would persuade bad cops like Wilson to rein in their belligerence just a bit.

Maybe he wouldn’t tell two young guys walking down the street to “Get the fuck on the sidewalk.”

Perhaps he wouldn’t have slammed Mr. Brown with his cruiser door. Maybe he wouldn’t have assaulted Mr. Brown by grabbing his neck through his cruiser window. Maybe he wouldn’t have had to lie to the Grand Jury.

He could have kept an eye on them, and called for backup (he could have done that anyway). But instead, he instigated a confrontation that resulted in Mr. Brown’s needless death.

There was a thug, but it was Wilson.

Prosecutor McCulloch, a Democrat, has a long history of backing the police, and his own father, a policeman, was killed in the line of duty.

All that said, Wilson would probably not have been convicted.

The pharmacy called, Jeffery. Your meds are ready for pickup as clearly you have run out of the drugs that try to keep you in reality.

  3. Perhaps that would persuade bad cops like Wilson to rein in their belligerence just a bit.

Yeah, Wilson is bad because he dared to do his job and refused to let a punk criminal like Brown assault him and take his gun

Maybe he wouldn’t tell two young guys walking down the street to “Get the fuck on the sidewalk.”

Maybe dumbasses who were stoned and just robbed a store and assaulted the store owner should not be walking in the street like dumbasses.

There’s no point fisking the rest of your unhinged statement. You’re off the edge of the map.

  4. Jeffery says:

Even if they had “robbed” a store, is that grounds for killing someone?

Actually, the store clerk assaulted Mr. Brown, who pushed the clerk off him.

Are you certain they were stoned?

They were walking single file on the two yellow lines on Canfield with little traffic, not disrupting anything. The killer confronted them by telling them to “Get the fuck on the sidewalk.”

There is only the killer’s tale that Mr. Brown tried to take his gun. And Wilson has lied on a police report before. The killer assaulted Mr. Brown first – slamming a car door into him and grabbing his neck and shirt.

The killer, who was wisely let go by the Ferguson police dept, without severance, would have been reluctant to hassle the jaywalkers if they both had been carrying shotguns (legally) don’t you think? Or does open carry only apply to white folks?

We should be grateful that the Ferguson killer cop didn’t shoot them immediately like the killer cop in Cleveland did to that 12 yr old boy with a toy gun. At least the Ferguson killer cop gave Mr. Brown a running start. Or the Black guy in Ohio with a toy gun in WalMart that was killed by a killer cop.

Now see how they treat a white guy carrying a real gun:

    http://www.salon.com/2014/09/05/gun_nuts_special_privileges_how_police_treated_a_dangerous_open_carry_zealot/

With Black men, the white cops assume they’re violent criminals, with white men, not so much.

This is what the violent protests are about.

I still think all Black men should be armed to protect themselves against trigger-happy cops.

  5. Jeffery says:

“agitators”… who will rile up them Black folk!

Listen idiots. Black Americans have every right to be pissed off. Blacks and whites use illicit drugs at about the same rate (whites actually a bit higher), but Blacks are arrested and incarcerated at much higher rates for drug offenses. Depending on the final charges, many are disenfranchised once out of the for-profit prison. This is another way the elites suppress Black voters.

The Black unemployment rate is higher and wages lower. They are killed by cops more often.

When the poor whites finally appreciate what is being done to them by the elites, and begin to caucus with American Blacks, the US power structure will be genuinely threatened. This is why the elites like to keep the poor rednecks and the Blacks at each others throats.

The Tea Buggers are just another variation of the status quo, fighting to keep their cherished elite status.

  6. gitarcarver says:

Even if they had “robbed” a store, is that grounds for killing someone?

As that is not why Brown died, your point is meaningless.

Actually, the store clerk assaulted Mr. Brown, who pushed the clerk off him.

Factually false. The store owner is allowed to physically restrain or stop a thief. Therefore he could not have assaulted Brown. You would think that at some point in time you would get sick of being wrong on factual issues, but you never have the morals or intellectual honesty to do so.

Are you certain they were stoned?

The autopsy said Brown had marijuana in his system. Johnson said the trip to the store was so the could smoke pot later that day as well.

They were walking single file on the two yellow lines on Canfield with little traffic, not disrupting anything.

Both Johnson and Wilson testified they were illegally in the middle of the street. Wilson said cars had to slow down and pull around the two. Johnson said that cars passed him but he didn’t think they were obstructing traffic. That means that Johnson would have had to see what was happening behind him which he said he didn’t.

The killer confronted them by telling them to “Get the fuck on the sidewalk.”

That is the account of Johnson, whose statement does not line up with forensic evidence. You know about the forensic evidence – the science behind the event?

There is only the killer’s tale that Mr. Brown tried to take his gun.

And the forensic evidence which showed at least part of Brown being in the car. It should be noted that the testimony of Johnson, upon who you are relying, said Brown never reached in the car at all. That view is contradicted by the science. There is little doubt that the science, along with the other witnesses who say Brown reached into the car, show that Johnson lied. It is not a surprise that you back liars as birds of a feather stick together.

The killer assaulted Mr. Brown first – slamming a car door into him and grabbing his neck and shirt.

Once again, this is contradicted by the forensic evidence and the witnesses.

The killer, who was wisely let go by the Ferguson police dept, without severance, would have been reluctant to hassle the jaywalkers if they both had been carrying shotguns (legally) don’t you think?

Wilson resigned, jerk off. He was not given a severance package because at the time of his resignation, he had not yet qualified for it.

I don’t have a problem with people carrying shotguns. If that were the case, Brown and Johnson would have committed armed robbery and then legally been shot by the store owner. So if you want to advocate for irresponsible gun ownership, you go right ahead Skippy. It shows what kind of person you really are.

We should be grateful that the Ferguson killer cop didn’t shoot them immediately like the killer cop in Cleveland did to that 12 yr old boy with a toy gun.

That would be the boy who pointed a gun at a cop?

Tell us Jeffery, where is your outrage in the death of Gilbert Collar, an 18 year old white male shot to death by a black cop? Where is your outrage over the death of Dillon Taylor who was white and killed by a black officer? Where is your outrage that in Taylor’s case, with facts similar to that of Ferguson, the grand jury decided to no bill the officer?

Oh that’s right. You see racism everywhere else.

    You’re a racist and a liar Jeffery.

That’s all there is to it.

  7. Jeffery says:

Mr. Brown was still inside the store when the clerk attacked him physically.

So no, you have no evidence that Mr. Brown and Mr. Johnson were “stoned”. Marijuana metabolites are found in blood for a long time.

Wilson said the pair were disrupting traffic and Mr. Johnson said there were not. He said, he said.

What forensic evidence disproves Wilson telling the pair to “Get the fuck on the sidewalk”. Was there an audio recording?

Mr. Brown likely reached into his killer’s vehicle. Could he have reached all the way across the right-handed killer to reach his weapon? Note too that his killer is 6’4″ and over 200 lbs.

What forensic evidence proves that the killer was first assaulted by Mr. Brown?

Are you consistent? In your opinion was Officer Austin justified in shooting the stoned, incoherent Collar? I think it was a miscarriage of justice and that the Officer overreacted just as the Ferguson killer cop did. Austin was not indicted (killer cops rarely are).

Officer Cruz shot Taylor in cold blood on video and was not indicted. This is another example of police overreaction.

I didn’t mention these incidents since Mr. Teach didn’t post about them.

Racism is all around us, southern boy.

Cops shoot way too many unarmed citizens.

qc, You’re a douchebag and a liar, not two ways about it.

  8. gitarcarver says:

Mr. Brown was still inside the store when the clerk attacked him physically.

As I said, the store owner was protecting his merchandise which he is allowed to do.

Wilson said the pair were disrupting traffic and Mr. Johnson said there were not. He said, he said.

Except one of the “he” in “he said” has been proven to be a liar by the forensic evidence. Johnson lied or at the very least was grossly mistaken as to the events of the day. Either way, his word is no longer credible. It is understandable that you went with the proven liar’s word on the incident.

What forensic evidence disproves Wilson telling the pair to “Get the fuck on the sidewalk”. Was there an audio recording?

Comprehension issues again Jeffery? You are quoting Johnson, a person whose testimony was not supported by forensic evidence. Because we know that Johnson lied, his testimony is suspect. Why are you taking the word of a liar over the word of the guy whose testimony is corroborated by the forensic evidence?

Oh wait. We all know why. You are a racist so instead of looking at the evidence objectively, you look at the testimony based on race.

    Are you consistent?

Yes. You are outraged because you are a racist. I don’t look and judge people by their race. Your world view is tainted by your view of race rather than the idea of justice.

I didn’t mention these incidents since Mr. Teach didn’t post about them.

You didn’t even know about them, Jeffery. They didn’t cross your radar because you are a racist. You only see the evil that whites do and not the evil that blacks and other races do. I don’t care what race the person who does the wrong is.

Racism is all around us, southern boy.

Yes it is. I suggest that you look in the mirror for a racist. The best way to stop racism is to stop it around us. You, on the other hand, support racism in all its forms.

qc, You’re a douchebag and a liar, not two ways about it.

Awwww…… poor widdle Jeffery gets called out and proven to be a liar and racist and yet the best he can come up with is a childish taunt with no basis in reality.

Have you forgotten your meds again Jeffery? Or are you drunk off your butt as usual?

  9. Jeffery says:

You’re a liar and a racist. And a pompous douchebag to boot.

How do you find the time to comment here and also handle all the comments at your blog, lol?

Childish taunts? Look in the mirror, southern redneck. You cannot even contemplate how inconsistent your arguments are, can you? This is diagnostic for right-wing authoritarian followers like you. Remember, for conservatives, it’s always projection.

Do you think any of the killer cops were reckless in the Brown, Collar, Taylor, John Crawford III and Tamir Rice killings? Or do you think the killers acted reasonably? How about with Sandon Sierad? Joseph Houseman?

We should all recognize that our police officers have an incredibly difficult job, but something is wrong with the system when the government starts punishing citizens without due process.

What do you think of the local government (the St. Louis County police) trying to suppress the 1st Amendment rights of NFL players?

  10. gitarcarver says:

You’re a liar and a racist. And a pompous douchebag to boot.

Oh Jeffery, you should know better than to be looking in the mirror when typing responses.

Do you think any of the killer cops were reckless in the Brown, Collar, Taylor, John Crawford III and Tamir Rice killings?

Isn’t it interesting that you changed the subject here?

You think the cops were racist and therefore reckless. I don’t look at their race and judge each case individually.

You get upset when you think a black person is unjustly harmed. I get upset when anyone is unjustly harmed – regardless of race.

That’s one of the many differences between you and I. You look and form opinions based on race. I look and form opinions on the actions and character of people.

What do you think of the local government (the St. Louis County police) trying to suppress the 1st Amendment rights of NFL players?

I don’t think anything of it because it didn’t happen.

So either you are lying or woefully ignorant.

What did happen was that the police association – NOT the government – sent a letter to the NFL stating their objections to what the players did. If you had any character, you’d object to what the players did as well not because of their right to speak out (within the bounds of their contracts) but because the “hand up – don’t shoot” meme from the Brown shooting is false. Brown did not ever have his hands up.

So, unlike you, I support the First Amendment rights of the players and the police association and would have preferred that if the players were going to make a statement, that their statement was based on the facts of the case and not lies.

So why are you supporting people who lie?

    Oh never mind.

    Birds of a feather….
